Chapter 229 The Order Code

Chapter 229 The Order Code
MIA

For the past two days, I had been trapped inside this mansion my mansion. Yet somehow, it no longer felt like mine.

I couldn’t contact Elara. There was no network anywhere in the entire house, and every attempt I made to find a way out had failed. I tried the back entrance, but it was blocked. The security gates were no better; they were constantly watched.

Even the people who used to work for me were gone, replaced by my uncle’s men who followed every order without question.

Every corner of this place reminded me that I wasn’t in control anymore, and I hated it.

I knew exactly who was behind it.

My uncle.

A frustrated breath escaped my lips as I ran my fingers through my hair, staring at the walls that suddenly felt like they were closing in on me.

“Fuck, what is all this?” I muttered.

The anger inside me kept building with every passing second. I hated him for this. I hated that he thought he could control me. I hated that he was keeping me away from Elara when I knew exactly what he and Adrian were planning.

My foot slammed against the wall, the pain barely registering compared to the anger burning through me.

Then I heard it a knock on my door. I froze because nobody came to my room unless they had a reason.

“Come in,” I said.
The door opened, and one of my uncle’s men stepped inside. “Boss,” he greeted, bowing slightly.

I looked at him, waiting for him to speak. “Your order is here.”

My brows pulled together. My order? For a moment, I almost told him he was mistaken because I hadn’t ordered anything.

Then I remembered the code I had given my assistant.

If I was ever trapped or in trouble because of my uncle, she would send something using that code.

A small smirk slowly formed on my lips. Of course, she found a way. Even with my uncle watching my every move, she still managed to reach me.

“Bring her in,” I said.

The man nodded and left. Less than five minutes later, he returned with a lady holding a pizza box.

My eyes dropped to the box. Out of everything she could have sent… pizza?

A quiet laugh almost escaped me.

My assistant was unbelievable. She knew exactly how to hide a message right under my uncle’s nose.

“You can leave us,” I said.

The man nodded and walked out, closing the door behind him.

I waited until I heard the lock click. Only then did I turn my attention back to the girl standing in front of me.

She had the same height and body shape as me. Perfect.

“You know why you are here?” I asked, and she nodded. “Yes, boss.”

A small smirk touched my lips. Good. I didn’t need to explain much because she already understood. All I needed was a way out.

We quickly changed clothes. I took her cap and pulled it down, making sure my face was hidden as much as possible.

Before I opened the door, I turned back to her. She stood there quietly, watching me.

Maybe she understood the risk. Maybe she understood that if anything went wrong, everything would fall apart.

“No matter what happens, you must not raise your head. Don’t leave this room. Stay here until I come back,” I said.

“Yes, boss,” she replied.

My hand reached for the door handle, but I stopped and looked back at her one more time.

“Anything you need is inside this room. Do not come outside,” I repeated.

“Yes, boss.”

I took a deep breath and opened the door.

The moment I stepped into the hallway, I felt it their eyes. My uncle’s men were watching my every move.

For a second, my heartbeat increased, but I forced myself to stay calm. I couldn’t let them notice anything.

I lowered my head, holding the pizza box in my hands like I belonged there.

One wrong move, one wrong look, and everything would be over. But nobody stopped me. Nobody questioned me.

To them, I was just the pizza girl.

Each step toward the exit felt slower than the last, but I kept moving. Don’t look up. Don’t rush. Just walk.

The moment I passed through the mansion doors, fresh air hit my face, and I stopped for a second.

I was outside. Free. For the first time in two days.

I looked back at the mansion behind me. My own fucking mansion. The place that was supposed to be my home, the place where my uncle had kept me like a prisoner.

I tightened my grip on the bike handles and started the engine.

But before I could drive far, my phone started vibrating once, twice, again and again.

I frowned and stopped the bike.

When I pulled out my phone, my eyes immediately went to the screen. The messages were from Elara.

My fingers moved quickly as I opened them. “I will be leaving the city soon.”

My heartbeat changed as I checked the date.

Tomorrow. My eyes widened slightly. That meant… her memory would be wiped today.

“Fuck,” I whispered.

My grip tightened around my phone as a heavy feeling settled in my chest. I just hoped I wasn’t too late.

Because I wouldn’t let anyone hurt Elara.
