Chapter 186 Better Plans

Chapter 186 Better Plans
I followed him as he took me away from Selena, but just as we got into his classroom, he locked the door and turned to me. I could see the look of pity in his eyes and the way he stared at me and the silence as if he were trying to figure out what he was supposed to say to me.

"It's fine, Lex; I am fine," I said to him when he wouldn't say a word for about a minute, and just then he fell to his knees.

"I am so sorry, Lisa; I should have left when you were giving me the sign to. None of these would have happened; she wouldn't have hit you. I am sorry."

He said to me, but an apology was not what I wanted from him right now. I wanted him to calculate; I wanted him to plan. I wanted him to strategise how he was going to meet Selena's attack because there was no way she was going to let any of this slide; she would come back for him, and when she came, it was going to be bigger than what he had ever seen before. He just slapped her.

"I understand that you regret this, Lex, but this is not the time for regrets. 'This is not the time for you to apologise to me for being slapped by a girl who is so obsessed with you; this is a time for you to think about how you're going to fight, or else we will be taken off of our feet, and it would be difficult to find balance again,' I said this to him, staring directly at his face, but before he could say a word, Landon's voice echoed from across the room.

"I agree with the girl on this one. I heard that the scene was wild. I heard people are going crazy about what happened there; there are videos everywhere now. Do you really think Selena is not going to fight back?" He said, standing up from the couch he was sitting on the whole time as he walked over to us.

"How long have you been here?" Lex asked, completely surprised at his presence.

"Come on, dude, you're standing right at the door; you would have seen me if I was just walking in."

"Yeah, of course you've been there the whole time."

"Look right now, you need to think about what you are going to do because if anger like that of your father and Selena is put together against you right now, it is going to be loud, and it is something you might likely not survive, so I am asking you to think about what you want to do and think about it fast."

For a second I could feel my lips breaking open into a smile, but I immediately held myself back because there was nothing to smile about at the moment. Even though I was impressed by the way Landon was taking his friend's side, we needed to be very careful and strategic, or else we were going to lose completely.

"What do you suggest, Landon?" I asked to move my games away from Alex, who was still staring at us in confusion.

"I think the both of you should leave town. It is going to be very difficult for your father to fight you while you are not here, so if you leave town, that could be the best chance that you have of winning this. Instead of having to face his wrath and all the trouble he throws your way, you could just skip all of that and go somewhere else to plan."

It took me about a minute to process that as I was staring at Lex's face most of the time, wondering what he was going to say about it because, as for me, I knew that I was ready to give up anything to help him in this. I don't know when it happened, but I knew that I was ready to help him with whatever I could, and no matter how hard it was, I was going to stand by him.

"Lex, what do you say?" I asked. I had to ask him when he wouldn't say a word for over a minute.

"I don't know. I don't need permission from anyone to leave town. If that could help me, I could do it, but you, Lisa, can't possibly leave your cousin. I don't think she'll agree to this; she was very strict with me last night." He said to me, and I completely understood what his fear was.

"Hold on a second, the both of you are already seeing each other's homes, and you are meeting your families already? Please tell me we are not about to start planning a wedding because we are still high school students, remember?" Landon's mockery came out loud as we all laughed it off.

"Or I can talk to my course, and I'm going to explain it to her properly," I said out loud after the laughter had died.

At that moment I was feeling a little too excited. I could feel things gradually falling in place.

"I know my presence might not be needed, but I'm kind of looking for a place to spend the summer away from my mum, who is so obsessive and protective. I don't mean that in a bad way," Landon chipped in, and just before I would respond, Lex screamed a loud " Yes."

It was going to be a three-person trip, and as much as I was excited that we were going to be getting away from this trouble at least for the holiday, I was also worried about what Susan was going to say when I finally told her.

"You mean you want to go on a trip with two boys?" Her voice was loud when I told her the news. She stood there in the middle of the living room, staring at me with a kind of look that made it seem like she had not expected me to ever make such a request.

"What does this boy have over you?" She asked me.
