Chapter 183 Little Drama
Chapter 183 Little Drama
Lex's POV
Of course I expected that she was not going to listen to my warning about stepping out of our way, and so I stood there holding Lisa's hand while waiting to see what she was going to do now.
"You always seem to know the perfect way to get me so vexed up that I want to set everything ablaze, and that is exactly how I am feeling right now, Lex. If you do not let go of me, I am going to take out my phone and call your father. We have to put an end to this!" Her voice was loud and angry, and of course students had already begun to gather, watching us as the three of us stood in the middle of them.
"It is no news to me that you have lost your sanity, Selena, but I am, however, surprised to see that you want to put an end to something I've been asking for for a very long time. How about you call my father right now and we put an actual end to this?" I asked step closer to her; now I could feel Lisa's grip pulling me away.
I didn't want to look at her; I knew she would want us to walk away from that thing, but I needed to give Selena a little drama just so that she would know that some things have changed and we are not the way we used to be before.
"You are daring me, Lex; you are daring me, and this is going to be the last time I would have to warn you. I swear to you, I would make you regret every bit of what you're doing."
Listening to her say those words, it did not feel like a threat to me anymore. If it were on other days, I would probably take her outside and plead with her not to let my father know anything I must have done wrong, but right now I didn't care one bit about what she was going to do or who she was going to tell. The only person who had me chained up that way is my father, and I am completely broken off of that chain now.
"Do you need me to give you another permission before you do what you know you have to do? Go ahead, Selena, do whatever you want to do. I will be right here before you, waiting to see what his reaction is going to be to your complaint."
I could see the way her eyebrows narrowed in fury. I could tell that she was very angry, but that didn't even move a thing in me.
I was daring her. Now I know if she was truly serious about being so upset that she wanted to put an end to this, I would dare her to call my father and have us put an end to this right here and now, but I already knew she was never going to do anything like that. She was headbent on making these plans with my father work, but I am never going to let it happen.
I wonder why they think that they can bend me to do whatever they want me to do when it is my life and it is I who is going to be living in it.
"This is your last chance, Lex; I am not going to ask you again," she said to me as if that was supposed to make me change my mind.
"You're stalling, Selena; it is not like you to stall. If you are so sure of yourself, why don't you go ahead and call my father immediately? Why do you keep delaying? Do I look like I am not ready to face whatever is going to happen next?"
At this point I could already feel Lisa's hand holding me tightly, indicating for me to turn to her, but I didn't want to.
I have not admitted it yet, but she was my only weakness, and if I turned to her and she said that she wasn't comfortable in this, I probably would walk away still holding her, but I wanted Selena to feel a little threatened before I gave her that respect.
"I can see now that you have completely gone nuts, Lex, and it is not your fault; it is her fault because if you weren't being brought to this school by some stupid scholarship, maybe all of these wouldn't have happened!" Selena yelled, turning her gaze now to Lisa, and that was exactly where she made a mistake.
"You see, Selena, I have always avoided any situation that is going to make me go so mad at you that I want to rip your head off, but I am daring you right now; if you there push me to that extent, I would probably have ripped your head off before my father arrives here to save you. Believe me, I can do that. Don't push me. Before you say anything else, you should probably confirm from him to know the state of things right now."
The look of surprise flushed over her face; I could see Selena had never been so confused. It was always like she had her words prepared every single time, and each time you said something, she always found a way to respond in a matter of seconds, yet look who was actually now staring at me with wide eyes as if she were speechless, which was difficult to believe. I expected more from her.
"You know I care about you despite how much you've been mean to me, Lex. I care about you, and I know that one call from me right now to your father is going to cause you so much pain, so forgive me if I am not very excited about putting you through pain, unlike the person standing beside you who has wrecked your life since the moment you walked into this school!"
Whatever she was trying to claim right now was funny.
"Selena, did you hit your head somewhere?"
