Chapter 110.

Chapter 110.
Adrian.

The way she kisses me, it sends warmth through my entire body. Tingles travel through me, as I watch my human wife accept me wholeheartedly. When I transformed moments ago, I feared she would run from me.

She kisses me deep this time and I release a contented growl.

“I love you.” She whispers.

“I love you too, My Heart.” I smile into her lips.

She smiles as well and takes a step back. I don’t know, perhaps to admire what I’ve become. I feel oddly excited standing like this in her presence. As I turn away briefly so I can take some more moon light power, I hear a growl to my side. It all happens so fast, I don’t even have enough time to react.

I see a large vicious beast, step out from the shadows. It grabs Andria, pressing her against it. The entire scene takes just a few moments, but it seems like an eternity.

The beast takes one look at me, the eyes recognizable. Jerome. I take a leap forward and the beast smirks, biting Andria full on the neck. Her loud scream pierces the night, pierces my heart; just as it tosses her effortlessly to the side.

“Andria!” I roar, jumping on Jerome.

He’s twice my size in this form, but I don’t mind. I deliver powerful  blows to Jerome, who continues to laugh, as we combat. We exchange powerful punches that rock the very earth.

Our breaths come out heavy as we both growl. Tossing each other against the trees. When I punch him heavily, he is thrown violently against  a copse of trees. Giving me a moment to check on Andria. I rush to her, panicked at the condition I find her. The bite is fatal and blood gushes from the wound. I pant, heavily trying to catch my breath.

“My Heart…Please stay with me…Please…” I cry.

She’s writhing. The wound brings out steam, evidence of the venom, which I know currently courses through her veins. My hands shake as I hold her close to me, trying to alleviate her pain.

She can’t even speak. The agony she goes through is too painful to watch. I’ve gotten lycan bites before and I know how the pain goes. Although their venom travels slower than a vampire’s but it’s still as lethal. I pick her up, so I can teleport us both out of the forest, when Jerome’s heavy blow, tosses me back. Causing Andria to fall off my hands.

She’s thrown against a tree. The sound of bones breaking, filters into my ears.

Pain sears through me, as my head is slammed against a rock. The jagged edge hits my back. I’m winded at the impact. My breath coming in short gasps. If I don’t rescue Andria in time, she wouldn’t survive. I sink to the ground, trying to gather my breath.

My vision blurs from the impact of the hit. My mind goes to Andria. I can feel her pain. She’s got a few broken bones already in her arms and legs. I cry inwardly, as I  grow weak, knowing she’s in danger.

“You know, you’re just unfortunate. You lost one Anaya. And now you’re losing her reincarnated form.” Jerome sneers, as his lycan forms approaches me.

I look up at him, shocked at hearing Anaya’s name from his lips. How did he know Anaya?

He stands in front of me, taking advantage of my weakness. I feel a burning pain in my back, where the rock hit me. My breathing slowly evens.

“Yes, Adrian.” Jerome lowers himself, sensing my confusion. “Andria is Anaya incarnate. And yes, I know Anaya. She was my mate. The Luna Princess; my betrothed, who was engaged to be married to a lycan from the most powerful lycan family, which was mine.”

A knowing look crosses my face, as he confesses.

I recall Anaya informed me she was to be married to the most powerful family. But she never told me the name of her betrothed. Somehow we never broached the subject further, once we fell in love. It was like we had damned all consequences to be together and that was all that mattered.

“I sent words through my representatives to allow her to pursue her dreams and become a singer and that was how she fell in love with you. Though we never talked, we never met. But I knew her. I had her watched all the time. I moved to the States because of her…And that was how I got to know she had fallen for you.”

I listen in shock. My mind searching. Pictures floating through my mind. I watch Andria. She isn’t moving. I grow worried and  try to move, but Jerome pins my neck with his powerful arm. I growl. I’m weak from our combat. He’s twice my size and more at advantage, because he’s got nothing to lose. My heart is already weakened seeing Andria’s condition.

“I had your family kill her. It was either that or your father had you killed. And he chose killing her.” Jerome sneers.

I gasp, struggling to speak.

“What are you saying…” I pale in horror.

“Am saying, I made your father kill Anaya. They didn’t want to. I forced their hands. And now you would lose Andria. The one who Anaya was reborn as. Just like the Lycan prophesy said…”

“Lycan prophesy?” I gasp, pain shooting through me from where he’s pressing my throat.

The air leaving my lungs. So he was responsible for that crime against Anaya. He was responsible for my  dad’s irrational choice that night. I recall how I killed my family, my entire clan and it was all because of this one lycan’s influence. And I lost my entire family. Regret floods me. Why hadn’t they told me the truth? We could have fixed this.

I flick a gaze to Andria. I think of my family. I think of Anaya.

“You ruined me once…You wouldn’t ruin me again…”
