Helen
To see my mother with a gun pointing at us, was a hell of a shock. There wasn’t a commotion in the restaurant yet so Damon hasn’t notice anything. I was trying to get his attention without making it too obvious. When my mom said her life will be over if Antoinette’s are I was shock, why I don’t know but did I mean nothing to her and that is why I asked her “Mom what about me?” I saw my father’s face change color. Did I say the wrong thing? “What about you?” She screamed at me that got the attention of everyone in the restaurant as well as Damon’s. “You the fucking reason I had to marry your father; I never wanted you!” She kept on screaming. Now everything made sense, why she was cruel to me all those years, why she helped Antoinette to get rid of me. I was upset and the tears where streaming down my face but at the corner of my eye I could see Damon approaching us, slowly, clearly, he didn’t want to scare my mother, I mean she was the one with a gun. My mom was pointing the gun at me now. “Maybe if I shoot you your father will help Antoinette.” I didn’t notice my father was so close to me but as she said it, he was in front of me. “Get out of the way!” She screamed. “No, I won’t let you hurt Helen more than you already have.” “Don’t think I won’t shoot you.” She said to my dad. “Maybe if I kill you, I will have all the money in the world to safe Antoinette.” “Sorry to disappoint you Mia, you don’t inherit anything when I die not even Antoinette.” “You fucker!” She screamed, ready to pull the trigger but Damon was there trying to wrestle the gun out of her hand. For some reason my mother was super strong today. A shot went of which made me scream. Damon’s eyes got big because he thought it was me that got shot but my father that was standing in front of me fell to the ground.
Johnny
I wasn’t happy with Helen going to lunch with her dad without me but I knew John didn’t mean Helen any harm. If I had to guess what this whole lunch was about, I’ll probably say, he wants to tell her that she gets everything when he dies. Which is off course better coming from him than me. I was deep into work when Damon called “What’s wrong?” I immediately got a gut feeling something was wrong. “Mia is here with a gun.” “Keep Helen and John safe.” I said, I disconnected the call and Jared and I ran to the restaurant. As we approached, we could see everyone standing outside, when Jared and I wanted to run in the manager stopped us. “There is a woman with a gun in there. You can’t go in.” “She’s pointing the gun at my wife I’m going in. Did you call the police?” “Yes.” The manager got out of our way but as we entered, we heard a gunshot went off. I ran towards Helen just as I got to her it was John that fell to the ground holding his leg. “Damon, do you have the gun?” I screamed at him. “I do now.” Jared grabbed Mia and held her hands behind her back. “Leave me alone!” She screamed. “Not a chance in hell.” Jared replied. “Dad dad, are you okay.” Helen asked as she went to the ground trying to stop the bleeding. “It’s just my leg angel.” Damon dropped to the ground ripped of his belt and bind it around John’s leg. The police came storming in guns out. “It’s okay officers we have the shooter.” I told them calm and collective. I didn’t feel any of those things. They took Mia from Jared and handcuffed her. “I’ll get you for this.” Mia screamed at us. John used all his strength to look up to her and say “Who’s going to help you sweet little Antoinette now?” And then he passed out. How can he say something like that he is still Antoinette’s father no matter what. I know he didn’t want to help her which I was grateful for but the way he said it was like Antoinette wasn’t his. “Dad Dad” Helen kept calling out to him, but he lost consciousness.
The paramedics arrived checked everything and said they needed to get him to a hospital as soon as possible. He lost a lot of blood. “Can I go with him?” Helen asked “Yes miss.” I turned her around to me “I’ll be right behind you babe.” “Thanks Johnny.” The police wanted to stop Helen but I stopped the police. “Can’t you ask her questions later, let her just see her father through this and besides here is camera’s all over the place. Have a look at that and then come and question my wife.” “Fine sir we will do that.” “Thank you so much, here’s my card if you need to get a hold of us.” “Let’s go Damon, Jared.”
As we walked out, I asked Damon, “How did Mia get pass you?” “Honestly, I didn’t recognize her, only when they started to scream at each other did anyone take notice of her. I got to her as soon as I could Johnny.” “I know Damon, I’m not blaming you.” “You don’t have to I blame myself.” “Let’s go to the hospital.” “Jared Damon and I got in my SUV and was off to the hospital. The Antoinette story was still nagging at me. It would make a lot of sense if Antoinette is not John’s daughter, she doesn’t look like him at all but I won’t ask Helen, not now. Now we need John to pull through, he has to I don’t know what Helen will do if he doesn’t. Jared dropped me at the ER while he and Damon go look for a parking. I rushed in when I saw Helen walking up and down outside theater doors. A nurse wanted to stop me but I ignored her, she could see I was a man on a mission and didn’t try to stop me again. As soon as Helen saw me, she threw herself in my arms and started to cry. “He’ll be okay Helen.” “He flat lined in the ambulance Johnny, I’m not so sure his going to make it.” “Did they revive him?” “They did but they said he lost a lot of blood.” “Helen come let’s sit, he will pull through your father is strong man don’t give up hope not yet.”
