CHAPTER 159
I heard my heart starting to beat like crazy as soon as I starting seeing more figures standing next to the guy that was standing across us just looking at us. "We can't handle this many people, Tyson. We should go inside the house." I said walking towards him in distress, he stood there looking at the figures that were also staring at us. I kept trying to squint my eyes to get a better view at them, I couldn't tell how many of them were standing there and that alone weakened my knees.
"Tyson," I called out his name tugging his arm in distress, I need to feel safe and this driveway is the last place I want to be. "Quit playing, you are the one who woke up in the middle of the night and wanted to go afer these people, you can't back out now." he said aggressively moving my hand from his arm, I looked at him in annoyance. He's trying to play hero and I don't have the energy to applaud him right now. "Tyson, I didn't want to go after these people, here's only one person I wanted to go after and you know who." I said feeling my hands getting sweaty by the minute.
Tyson was about to answer me when something moved, we both kept quiet and watched intently. I felt sick to my stomach as we watched as the person slowly came forward, they steadly took each step with consideration, I was dying inside. I wanted to bolt back inside and call for my parents to come and rescue us but how would I have done by leaving the hero outside, I am the one who convinced him to come with me, well he convinced me but I am now responsible for him. A strange old man appeared, i'm saying strange because he had the strangest gray looking eyes. He waalked forward and stopped a few feet away from us, he smiled and I swear a small squel escaped my lips.
"This is a warning, stay away from me. You don't know me and you don't know what I am capable of, I won't kill you like I did with your sister, I will torture you. I did you a favour, I could've killed your whole family. Stay away," the man said the last words, turned around and disappeared into the darkness. I was so confused and scared that my head was throbbing, I couldn't think straight and I was trying so hard not to break down or bolt while these people were here.
I turned and looked at Tyson but he was staring at the direction that they disappeared to, that was the strangest thing ever. "That was your friend, Elenor." I already knew that but how, "Do you think she sent them here? Does she control these people, if she has these people as her bodyguards we are up against a very tough match." I said drawing a breath of relief now that we were alone. Tyson looked down on me, he's two inches taller than me so everytime I am standing next to him I feel like a child. He stared at me for a minute with so much intent that I saw disappoint me in his eyes, I burst out laughing at him.
"What the fuck are you laughing at? I honestly thought I could trust you?" I laughed more as I walked back inside the house, he followed closely behind me and locked the door behind us. "I'm sorry for laughing but why would you trust me to fighting? Where did you ever see me fighting that made you think you can count on me?" I asked him trying to contain my laughter, anyone who trusts me with their lives is mistaken, i'm not tough.
"Where were you?" We stopped in our tracks as we heard Mom's voice coming from the stairs, I turned and cleared my throat thinking of the right explanation that I can give her without blowing oir cover. "We were for a walk, Mom. I couldn't sleep so I asked Tyson to come with me." I said walking to the refrigerator, Tyson sat down on the dining table. "Okay, get to sleep when you done, its burial tomorrow. We need to be in our right minds for this, please." I nodded as she walked away and I instantly felt sick and sad all over again. Everything is happening too fast for my liking, I haven't even accepted that she's gone yet and now I have to accept that she's getting buried tomorrow.
"How will I ever know what my supernatural gift is?" I asked sadly as I took out cold water from the refrigerator. "Come here," Tyson says as he stands up and walks towards me taking my hands in his, I look at him ready to laugh at him for being soft. "Can you stop laughing, like for a minute?" I laughed one more tire at how desperate he sounds. "I'm sorry, I won't laugh again." I said trying to be serious. "We can find your supernatural ability by doing yoga," he said with a serious face, "Yoga?" I repeated his words confused. "We can seat down and I will try to connect with you, since we share blood that will instantly connect you resulting into you connecting with your abilities, how's that sound?"
I followed him to seat down on the tiles, we sat opposite each other and he took my hands in his, the whole thing felt stupid and off. We've never been he soft siblings, we are always teasing each other and now we are holding hands, weird. We sat down and I started feeling the energy running through my veins, I felt more energized that i've ever felt before. I started feeling nervous, scared that this might work and I won't be able to control my powers. We sat there for another minute and I started getting light headed, I grabbed Tyson's hands in panick as I felt myself lose conciousness. "April, what are we doing here?" I opened my eyes as we were at a random quiet building, how did we get here?.
