The Reason
The Reason
Gray's POV
I am worried about Lana. If I am going to ask about anything, then she will just deny it like she always does. I don't know what else might have happened but she needs to feel as if she can come to us and talk. It would be impossible with Mark because of his temper at times. He will get angry if anything happened.
The kids and Mark arrive at home. "Mommy!" Scarlett runs over to me as I sit on the sofa, watching television in the lounge. Scarlett is the most happiest kid, she always has a smile on her face. She sits down next to me. "We had fun."
" I'm happy that you had fun." I say as I place a kiss on the top of her head.
"Hi, mom." Jordan says as he leans forward to place a kiss on my cheek.
"You had fun too?" I ask as he stands up straight.
"It was okay, we played board games and watched movies that were appropriate age," he says. He is my boy, he seems to always care about me, I find that sweet. I look for Weston but he isn't around. Mark walks up the stairs. "Lana went out last night but we are not allowed. I was surprised when uncle Reggie said that dad had said that it was okay." he says.
"Well, your sister lied. She is being punished." I say.
"She has her issues, I guess." he shrugs.
"Want to share with me what they are?"
"Dad knows about it, I told him. It could be that. I want to go and take a swim, its hot today." he says as he walks away.
Scarlett gets off the sofa and runs up the stairs.
"Hey." Mark says as he sits next to me. "I spoke to Reggie. "He won't do it again. How is Lana?"
"She was sleeping late and I don't know what she is up to now." I say.
"How is the baby?" he asks as he takes my hand in his.
"The baby is fine. This has to be the last." I say.
"Agreed. Even if I have to get a vasectomy done, then I will do that. I enjoy s^x way too much with you." he says.
"I am always here for you when you need me. I know that you aren't really grieving at this moment because of the whole Lana thing. If you need time away from the kids, we can always ask Amber or Reggie to take care of them for a weekend." I say.
"That sounds like a plan." he says. "I just want things to be okay and maybe I'm more of an ass to Lana. She hates me," he says.
"She loves you and you are her father."
"She has never really liked me since she was young. Maybe it was to do with Sterpoint and maybe it is. You were right about that. I should allow her to do what she loves and then maybe she won't hate me anymore." he says.
"You can try that and see." I smile at him. He leans closer to me, he is inches away from my lips.
"Daddy, can we go swim, please?" We pull away as Scarlett walks inside. She loves Mark.
Mark's POV
I wanted to enjoy the moment with Gray and it was ruined. Scarlett likes to pop up anywhere. "Of course, we can." I say and I look at Gray apologetically. "Tonight we will carry on." I say as I get up from the sofa.
I walk up the stairs and then as I walk past Lana's room, her door opens. She looks as if she has seen a ghost. She swallows and her lips part again as her hand goes to her chest. Her chest is heaving. My brows furrowed and I stop. "Lana?" I ask with concern.
"I can't breathe." she says and she holds onto the door frame as I rush to her side. I hold her in my arms and I walk her back so that she can sit down on her bed.
"How long has this been going on?" I ask as I crouch down in front of her, looking up at her.
"Last week." she manages to say.
" I'm going to take you to the hospital. You should've said something." I say, I try to seem strong, but inside, I am worried.
She shakes her head. "No, it will blow over, I don't want to go to school." she says.
"Are you being bullied?" I ask. Her breathing is easing.
"Yes." she says. "I wanted them to like me and there is this guy on the football team. I like him a lot and he can get any girl that he wants. He is mean to me in front of everyone else and when he is alone with me, he is nice. One day, he tried to come onto me at school and I wasn't ready." she says with tears in eyes. "Please, don't hate me." she says as tears run down her cheeks.
I am angry and heartbroken at this. I get up and I sit down next to her on the bed. I wrap my arm around her. "I will never hate you. I will always love you. You are my everything since you were conceived. If anyone does anything to you...you tell me." I say. " Especially that bastard." I say through clenched teeth. It breaks my heart that she didn't come to us about this out of her own, as if she feels like she cannot talk to us.
"It was him last night. He texted me to join them and I wanted to go. I lied to uncle Reggie. They were waiting for me outside. We went to the club where I felt uneasy about it. I don't know anything about clubs. Once we were inside, they wanted to offer me alcohol and one lesson that I had learnt from Daniel was that I should never drink anything or to leave a drink unattended because someone can put something into it. He is a good friend, he looks out for me." she says. "At the club, you saw what this guy tried to do."
"That bastard." I mutter under my breath. "I will move you to a different school." I kiss the top of her head.
I am happy that Lana spoke to me. I will kill that bastard. No one touches my daughter. For a moment, I was afraid that something was wrong with her. But it was a panic attack that she had. I will never hate any of my kids. I will love them until my last breath.
