Lana's Diary

Lana's Diary
Mark's POV

I am on my way to Reggie, I'm getting my kids. I will have a good chat with him about Lana. I had a good night's rest and that is what I needed. Usually, when things happen and there is a situation, then I cannot sleep because I'm too busy thinking about it. Lana has been ignoring me for the entire morning. When I would speak to her, she just pretends that I'm not even around. I do not know what I did to ever deserve this from her.

She goes out to the club and they are the wrong crowd by the looks of things. I just didn't see Daniel there, so perhaps he is a good one. I will have a word with him to know what his intentions are with her and if it's not anything to do with last night, then he should keep an eye on her for me. I know that Jordan will be too busy but by the sounds of things, he does keep an eye on his sister.

I pull up in the driveway and then I get out of the car. It's another hot day. I am in jeans and a black t-shirt. I walk up the steps and I could hear the kids inside. I knock on the door and it opens a few seconds later. It was Shawn, "Uncle Mark." he says with a nod, another teenager, the same age as Lana. He opens the door wider and I step inside. The kids are playing in the lounge.

I walk further inside of the lounge. "Daddy!" Scarlett runs towards me and hugs me. Her arms are around my waist. I bend down to give her a kiss on the cheek.

"How was your sleepover?" I ask.

"It was nice, I don't want to leave." she says.

"We have to. But you can play so long until we leave." I say. She nods and then runs back to the others.

"Hi dad!" Jordan calls out as he sits on the sofa watching the kids. I give him a wave before I walk towards the kitchen.

Reggie is making lunch. "Hey." I say, he looks up. Shawn leaves the kitchen.

"How are you keeping up?" he asks.

"I am okay, but what I'm not okay with is what happened last night. Lana called me to fetch her at the club." I say, looking at him and he seems guilty.

" I'm sorry, but she said that you were okay with it and I let her go. She said that you allow her to go out with friends." he says.

"Well, I do not allow her to go out. What she pulled last night was not good. She is grounded and next time, you say no to her. She is starting to have this attitude towards me and I don't know why." I say.

"I'm sorry about last night, it won't happen again. I don't know what might be going on with her, but why don't you ask her?" he says.

"Do you honestly think that she would talk to me? She doesn't, not even to Gray. What if something happened and she is not telling us anything?" I say as I think the worst.

"I don't know. I haven't experienced it to that extent yet." he says.

"Just don't do it again." I say.

After staying for a while, I leave with the kids. They can take a swim when we get home. I know that I need it. My worries are Lana and my mother's funeral. Those are the things that I want to focus on.

Gray's POV

I knock on Lana's door and there is no response. I knock again, still no response. I open the door and she is sleeping. I take a step inside and I look on her desk and I see a diary. I look at her but she is out like a candle.

I take the diary and I page through it, she talks about a guy on the football team that she liked, but he is mean to her most of the time, because she wouldn't give him what he wants.

Dear diary

Today, he stopped me in a quiet hall, everyone was in class. I was on my way to mine. It was just the two of us. I was nervous and happy, because my crush wants me. We shared a kiss, close to the janitor's closet and then he tried to take it further, but the closet was locked. I tried pushing him away but he was too strong. I was not ready to go further because one moment he is mean in front of his friends and then the next he is nice to me when we are alone. Before it went further, the janitor came and he moved away from me. I was relieved.

"What are doing here, mom?" I close the diary and I turn around as she sits up straight in bed.

"I just wanted to check up on you." I pull the chair out and I take a seat. "How are you?" I ask.

" I'm okay, just not happy that dad is punishing me."

"For good reason. What you did last night was not right. You could've told us before that." I say.

"Dad, would never allow me to go out." she says.

I take in a deep breath. "I will talk to your dad. But don't pull anything like that again." I say.

She sighs. "Okay."

"I will make us some breakfast and if there is anything, please talk to me at least." I say.

I get up from the chair and walk out of her room. That diary is what I want to read, perhaps something is going on and that diary might give us the answers if she doesn't talk to us. Mark will make a way to get it. I am worried about her because she is acting out and going out last night was worrying me even more. I hope that Mark can at least be gentle with her. Perhaps that could help.
