Raising his head, he was met with an empty space. For some unknown reason, he felt guilty, for talking to her in that manner, he regret hurting her with his words, but then, he couldn't just stopped himself....

Eve POV

The rest of my day in the office was messed up, as I couldn't stopped myself from thinking about what happened earlier. The thought of him, asking me out of his office, and the thought of him, not even listening to what I had to say, hurts me really bad.

After what seemed like forever, the closing time finally came, and after packing up the files for the day, I sent the day's works to his email, before taking the files to his office, for submission. Walking over to the door, I took a deep breath, before raising my hand to knock on the door, when it opened instead, revealing him, while my hand hung in the air.

"I... I will drop this on your desk." I said, looking everywhere else, but his face. I didn't want to see the dangerous look on his face again, I don't know why it hurts me, seeing him like that. Hurrying into his office, I dropped the files on his desk, and walked back to my office, but he wasn't anywhere around, guess he must've left.

Grabbing my handbag, I picked my car keys from the desk, before storming out of my office, and straight to the door, after which I walked out, and headed straight to the elevator, which took me to the last floor.

Stepping out of the elevator, I walked over to the exit door, and in the next few minutes, I was already at the parking lot, standing beside my car before opening the door, after which I hopped in, and ignited the engine, before driving out of the compound, and in the next few seconds, I was already on my way, driving home.

After a long drive, I finally got home, and parked at the garage, before alighting, after which I dragged my tired feet sluggishly to the entrance door. After inputting the password, I pushed the door opened, and dragged myself in, and as soon as I walked into the living room, I crashed on the couch tiredly, as I heaved a sigh of relief.

My mind wandered off to everything that happened earlier, and I just couldn't picture why I'm sad about the whole thing. I hate him, right? He disgusts me, and seeing him sad, is all I want, right? Frustrating him, and making him regret ever making decision of making me his secretary is the plan, yeah? But why am I feeling guilty? Maybe it's because this has something to do with the company.

The sound of footsteps, descending down the stairs, jolted me back to reality, and tilting my head to the direction, I was welcomed with nanny Cleo, descending down the stairs.

"You're home?" She asked, as she finally got to the living room, and sat beside me, while stroking my hair soothingly. This is one of the reasons I love her, she cares alot about me, not like my parents, who doesn't even give a damn about me.

"Yes, I just got back barely five minutes ago. I'm so famished, is there any available food here?" I asked tiredly, while yawning.

"Yes I made your favorite, why not go shower and come back to eat something?" She asked.

"I don't think I can take this hunger anymore nanny, I'm so damn hungry, haven't eaten anything since I left home." I said, as I bent down and got rid of my heels, before standing on my feet.

"Cmon Eve, that's a bad habit, you know? You need to showe...."

"I'll do that later please, right now, food first." I groaned tiredly, as I dragged my feet to the kitchen. Stepping into the kitchen, I checked the pot, and luckily, there was more than enough food to serve the whole nation. Grabbing a plate, I served myself some food, and in the next minutes, I was already sitting at the dinning area, devouring the food like an hungry lion. What do you expect? I haven't eaten anything since morning, and the stress I went through at work, I'm even strong that I haven't fainted yet.

"Can you slow down please? Don't choke yourself." Nanny Cleo chuckled, as she came to sit opposite me.

"You can't imagine how hungry I am, so just let me eat." I rolled my eyes at her, and started eating again.

Silence clouded the dinning room, as the only thing that could be heard, is the sound, coming from my cutleries, as I kept devouring the food.

"Your dad called." Her voice suddenly came on, and I stopped abruptly, before letting out a deep sigh, as I dropped the cutleries in my hand. For heaven sake, must she ruin my day? Now I've lost my appetite, can't she just get it? I don't like hearing their names, they don't give a damn about me, neither do I care about them, is that too hard to do?

Reaching out to the glass of water on the table, I took a sip from it, and cleaned my mouth with a napkin, before standing up.

"I'll be in my room." I said, and turned to go, but her next words brought me to an abrupt halt.

"They're coming tomorrow." She announced...
