Chapter 15

Furious

Jayden POV

Here I was, thinking that she was going to complain, wow, she's learning her lessons, I think. She hasn't seen anything yet though, I'm just starting with her, this is just the beginning. She's been gone for almost thirty minutes now, and will probably be back in an hour or two, I'm just waiting to see how she'll be able to cope with all those files on her desk.

Fixing my gaze on the computer screen, while my fingers keeps moving speedily on the keyboards, the sound of my ringing phone distracted me, and tilting my head to check who is calling, I was welcomed with the name of mr Anderson. Is he done with the meeting already or something? Reaching to the phone, I grabbed it, and swiped the answer button, before holding it to my ear.

"Hello mr Anderson." I greeted.

"Are you playing games with me Mr Jayden? If you know you weren't going to show up or send someone, why the heck did you keep me waiting here, huh? I've been here for close to twenty minutes, and I can't find anyone here. What's all these, huh? You think I got nothing else to take care of, and I took my time to seal this business with you? You know what? I'm done, for this business, I'm not damn interested anymore. Can't imagine you wasted my time for nothing." His angry voice thundered from the other end, and without even waiting to hear me out, he ended the call.

Glancing at the screen of my phone, I couldn't help the scoff that escaped my throat. What the heck just happened, huh? Is this some joke or something? Is he playing games with me now?

"No this is crazy." I said amidst dry scoff. He better be kidding, because if he's not, I'm so going to deal with Eve, this is the height of it all, I can't lose a deal worth over ten billion dollars, no it can't happen.

As much as I'm angry, I tried as much as to keep calm, and sort this out. Searching through my contacts, I finally found her number, and without wasting time, I hit on the dial button, while waiting impatiently for her to pick up. I think I'm losing my mind here already, I don't know how long I can take this.

After ringing for what seemed like forever, she finally picked up.

"Do you know how much you just made me lose?" I roared angrily, while leaning on my desk, glaring into space angrily, as my heart kept thumping violently against my chest, like it was trying to force its way out.

"Get back here, now!" I growled, and without waiting for to talk, I disconnected the call, and threw my phone on the desk, before running my fingers through my hair, as I started pacing in my office, biting my bottom lip....

Eve POV

Glancing at the screen of my phone, I couldn't help getting confused about the whole thing. What does he mean by do I know how much I made him lose?

I shrugged, and dropped my phone on the seat beside me, before turning on the ignition, and revised the car. Driving out of the compound, I made my way straight to the company, while still thinking about what he said, and that was when it dawned on me, the person I'm supposed to have a meeting with, he must've left. Well, that's not my problem though.

After driving for what seemed like forever, I finally got to the big gate of the company, and drove in straight to the garage, where I parked my car. Reaching out to my bag and my phone, which were laying on the seat beside me, I got rid of my seatbelt, before alighting from the car, after which I headed to the entrance door.

Once I got to the door, it rolled opened on its own, and I walked in, before heading to the elevator, which took me straight to the third floor. I know Jayden must be so pissed right now, but too bad that I don't care.

Stepping out of the elevator, I headed straight to the office, and once I got to the door, I took a deep breath, knowing what's awaiting me in there, before I finally pushed the door opened, and headed to my desk.

Stepping into my office, I dropped my bag on my desk, and took a deep breath, before walking over to his door, and placed a knock on it, but got no reply.

"Is he not in?" I asked myself inwardly, and rolled my eyes, before opening the door slightly, and I peeked my head in, as I was welcomed with the dangerous looking Jayden, glaring hard into space, and for some unknown reasons, my heart skipped like a million times. Wait! Don't tell me I'm getting nervous? It's not possible, right?

Taking a deep breath, I opened the door wide, and walked in, trying as much as not to let my nervousness take over me.

"Eve!" He growled loudly and angrily, as he raised his gaze to me, and beholding his dangerous eyes, where were now almost red with anger, I couldn't help flinching. What the heck!

As much as I tried not to appear nervous, as much as I tried not to let my fear take over me, but slowly, I found myself drowning in my own ocean of nervousness, as I felt my heart, pounding against my chest, my legs almost wobbling on the floor. In my whole years of existence, I've never felt this way, in my whole years of existence, no one ever made me feel this way, and to see him like this, I don't know why I'm getting hurt.

"This is the height of it all Eve..., you just made me lost over ten billion dollars, are you happy now, huh?" He yelled, as picked the office telephone, and crashed it on the wall, before returning his dangerous gaze to look at me, while breathing heavily.

"You know what? Get the fuck out of my office, I don't want to hurt you, just leave now!" He yelled, as he closed his eyes and threw his head back, while pointing to the door...
