Chapter 75 75
Alpha Knox~~
“Princess Avire, what do you have to say about going after the Crescent Moon Pack?” I asked him, pacing around my throne room. She'd tried to stay around until I woke up with my curse finally raised. She explained to me about Phoebe and how she didn't want to interfere in the wolf matters, but focused on reviving me.
That gesture from her was already enough, because it took nearly one month before my curse was completely raised and I woke up from a coma. And since then, I hadn't been able to feel Phoebe's wolf or inhale her scent. I had searched almost all the werewolf packs, and she was nowhere to be found. I had spies planted in the Crescent Moon pack where I guessed she was, and no response had been gotten.
Until last night, when my wolf stirred suddenly. I felt her from wherever she was, and that gave me the clue that she was still at least alive.
“Do not take any life, but save your mate and the other ladies Dean is holding captive.” Princess Avire said as she stood from where she had been seated.
I stared at her curiously, “What other ladies are you talking about?”
She scoffed, “You will see for yourself. There are three ladies under his captivity, and they all concern you.”
I cleared my throat, continuing my walk while pondering over what she said.
“If you wish, I could help out to rescue them without Dean finding out about it. If he does, it would stir up an attack, and souls would be lost,” she said again, and I shrugged my shoulders. “Remember, you must live an upright life and not stain your hands with people's lives. This way, you will live longer with the curse not returning.”
My eyelid raised as I met her gaze. One wouldn't know, but she was older than me. The lycans lived longer than the werewolves, and that made them stronger than we were.
“I understand, and would also need your help,” I said to her, and she nodded.

We set out the next day to the Crescent Moon pack discreetly. The lycan princess advised that she alone go into the palace, because she had an unfinished deal with Dean. In her words, “Once I distract him and his men, make use of the opportunity,” and I agreed to it.
She entered the palace with her guards and servants, while my men and I dispersed, using different routes and targeting the building where Phoebe's scent was coming from.
It was very easy to track her, but when I reached where her scent came from, there was no entrance and just walls at every corner.
My wolf howled, not too loud, but enough to call for our mate's attention. And just then, I heard a wolf whining. My wolf dragged my feet to the side of the wall, where I slammed my palm angrily, only for it to split by two.
The people standing before me caused my feet to still be on the ground. Phoebe stared back at me, and beside her were two other ladies, one of them had a veil covering her face, but I didn't know who the other was.
“Let's get out of here first!” I commanded them, and they dashed out before the wall shut again.
I stared at the wall and scoffed. How did Dean come up with this idea? This wasn't an underground, so this was the only thing he could generate.
“Knox?!” Phoebe mentioned, and I turned around. “Which way?” She looked shocked, just staring at me, but still didn't want to waste time.
I went before them and glanced back several times to be sure they were coming with me.
Soon, I heard Levi mindlinking me, ‘They are coming after us. I think they have a way of monitoring the building. Should I attack?’
Oh no! I didn't want to disobey the princess who'd been of help to me from the start. If I went against her order, she wouldn't pay attention to me in the future. ‘Don't! We are almost out.’ but I was already inhaling the scent of several wolves coming closer.
Since I woke up from my coma, I noticed how active my wolf had been, unlike in the past. It was as though the curse made me somehow weak, but I didn't notice so much.
Those men were fast approaching as we twitched through the gate, but I feared their bullet was poisonous, and if any touched us, it would result in another problem. I had to pull the ladies faster out of the compound, just so I would be the one to take whatever bullet they released…but a heavy wind pushed me out forcefully, and I heard the heavy thud of the gate slamming together.
I winced as my men rushed towards me, trying to help me up. I stared at the gate, curious as to what had just happened, when Phoebe said behind me, “If you came here with the lycan princess, then she must have used her powers to do that. We have to leave.”
Hearing that, I didn't bother any longer and rushed into the car with the others. “But, what about the princess? Could she be attacked?” I was so worried and didn't want her to hate me after everything she did for me.
“Dean wouldn't dare, unless he sought death,” Levi said behind me.
My breath was ragged, and I tried to put myself together.
The ladies entered the other car, so I would need to see them when we got down.
After the car had driven far away, I got a text message from an unknown number, which I guessed was the princess. “How could she return to her clan so soon? She needs to…
“I think she will be back. She mentioned to me about a festival that needs her presence, and she was holding on because of this.” Levi responded, and I let out a heavy sigh. “I knew that Dean wouldn't dare to harm her, and I'm sure he wouldn't even succeed if he tried. Do you realise how much power she has? Your mate could have hers if she trains.”
We reached the palace and alighted.
Phoebe stood from afar, staring at me, but refused to get closer. I wasn't shocked by how she acted because Levi had told me that she found out the truth through the princess, which was why she insisted on getting the artifact, even if it would cost her life.
But I didn't want it that way. Since I raised the burden on my shoulder, it would be okay if we continued from where we stopped, even though our relationship will be a forbidden one.
Yet, I told myself that she might not be okay with that, always seeing the man whose family was wiped out by her father. She would hate herself each day for the decision of staying with me, so it was better to let her go if she wanted that.
It wouldn't be easy, but if that would make her live happily, then I would grant it…provided she wouldn't end the matebond.
After several minutes of staring, she began walking closer to me. She grabbed the veiled lady until they stood before my presence, and then she raised her veil, wearing a soft smile.
My eyes widened in shock when I saw what the lady looked like. My fingers curled into my palms in shock.
I glanced around, shut my eyes and opened them again, and behold, I wasn't dreaming.
“Did you remember when I told you of a veiled lady in your club?” she asked, but didn't let me think. “She's the one, and I didn't need to know she is your sister.”
The lady's eyes snapped wide, and she turned to Phoebe, "What's going on?”
“She doesn't have any memories of her past, and she doesn't know what caused her this scar,” Phoebe explained further, with tears already welling in her eyes.
I was speechless, because this was more than a dream.
