Chapter 210 Twins
Chapter 210 Twins
The Johnson’s mansion had tension in the air. The fate of the servants depended on Fabian’s choice. Nobody refuted Heaven’s orders, not even old man Johnson. He doted on his lost and found daughter, and her words would be law.
Heaven sat in the living room, snacking on the peas Samantha had brought for her.
“Are you really serious? Will they lose their jobs if Fabian doesn’t come out to cook?” she asked Heaven.
“Hmm.” She nodded, unfazed, taking a gulp from the cup of freshly squeezed watermelon juice.
“Are you enjoying this right now?” Samantha said, hands crossed over her chest.
“Yes, the peas are so good…” Heaven said.
“You know that is not what I’m talking about—” before Samantha could finish, Heaven gave her the ultrasound.
“Twins.”
Samantha’s eyes shot wide.
Rayan stood in front of Fabian’s door.
“You know the servant with red hair? Her father fell down from a five-story building, and she needs this job to pay his hospital fees. Also, the one who is in charge of cooking—you know her kids are still little. She is saving towards sending them to school. You would be the reason why the man dies and the future of two innocent kids are gone—”
The door clicked open. Fabian stepped out.
“Thank goodness.” Rayan sighed in relief.
Fabian walked down to the kitchen. He had tried to ignore it, but his conscience couldn’t. “Ask her what she wants to eat,” he told Rayan.
“She could fire me too for asking. Please go ask her yourself,” Rayan said, stepping back.
Fabian sighed. He decided to prepare a few of her favorites. In an hour, it was done. The food was spread out on the table. Fabian removed the apron to walk away.
“I never said you could leave. Sit and watch as I taste it all,” Heaven said, her chin slightly raised.
Heaven ended up clearing the plate. Fabian stood up again to leave.
“I’m not done—”
“Cut it out already, Vera!” Fabian raised his voice.
“You should be the one cutting it out, Fabian,” Heaven shot back. “Stop this sulking. It’s enough. I’m your sister. The wedding got cancelled—get over it already…”
“Enough? Get over it? It’s simple to say because you were never in love with me. That’s why it was easy for you to get over everything.”
Heaven shot him a look. “We are comparing problems now, right? I found out that all my life has been a lie because of someone’s selfish interest, and I almost married my brother, and you fucking think you are the only one going through the hottest hell?”
Fabian felt guilty.
“You know what? Forgive me for interrupting your… whatever. Go back in there and continue,” she said, picking her bag and walking away.
Boyle could easily walk around now. He was no longer confined to the bed.
“What next for you?” Bianca asked before releasing the arrow from her bow.
Bullseye.
“I don’t know yet. I never thought about it because I didn’t know I would get out.” He aimed and fired a shot, his face scrunched a little in pain. It missed the center.
“You should rest… you are not fully healed…” she said worriedly.
“How about you? Do you plan on returning to the military?” He ignored her.
“No, lots of bad memories.”
“Travel with me then. Let’s make lots of good memories,” Boyle said straightforwardly. His eyes didn’t blink as he stared at her.
Bianca choked on her spit. Her face went crimson as she suddenly became aware of herself. “Why… would I do that?”
“Because you are idle,” he said.
“I can’t travel with you…” she said.
He frowned. “Why not?”
He quickly thought about it. Why wouldn’t she want to go with him? They were of the opposite gender.
He pulled the arrow again. “What you are scared of won’t happen anyway…”
“I meant you are married,” she cut him off and looked away.
He brought the arrow down and took slow, predatory steps towards her. He came so close that Bianca could feel the heat emanating from him. She saw his clear features; he was properly shaved and now dressed neatly like the heir he was.
“So you are saying if I wasn’t married, you would travel with me, right?” She rolled her eyes, finding a focus on anything but his eyes.
“Boyle,” Eleanor called, interrupting the moment.
“I will go…” Bianca said. Eleanor shot her a weird look as she passed.
“Mother,” he said, then stretched the arrow and released a shot that went through the arrow in the bullseye, dividing it into two halves.
“You are married. You can’t have second thoughts with another woman,” she said.
“Married to my brother’s woman?” Boyle asked.
“She’s not Maverick’s woman, okay? He just helped her bear a child for you…” Eleanor said, lying through her gritted teeth. She wanted Boyle to take claim on Liam, and if he stayed legally married to Heaven, it was right.
Maverick can marry anyone and bear another heir.
“Is that so? Then tell me why you threw her out in the middle of the night. That was the last time I ever saw her again,” he asked, because all while locked up, the television screen displayed home, and he had seen quite a number of incidents.
Eleanor was suddenly tongue-tied. “I love you, Mother, but this is my second chance in life. I won’t let you ride it.” He dropped a kiss on her cheek and walked away.
After Heaven arrived at the mansion, she went straight to Boyle’s room. He smiled when he saw her.
“It’s past the time to change your bandage. I will do it quickly.” He hummed in approval. Heaven carefully loosened the bandage and cleaned the wound.
She gave him something to blow into. He did, lifting all the balls up. It was like a breathing exercise.
“You have improved so much… It should be closed up in a week,” she said.
“Come, sit,” he told her.
Heaven’s heart pounded. All through the months of his recovery, he never once mentioned anything about her affair with Maverick or talked about Liam. He mostly just played with him and was nice to her, engaging her in small talks. But the mood right now was something serious, and she wasn’t ready for it.
Maverick had been overly choked up with work for weeks; he barely had a few hours to himself. He missed her so much. He wanted to quickly drop the report and then go look for her.
“Boyle already agreed on staying married to Heaven and claiming Liam as his. You should send that Bianca girl away. Let’s pay her off,” Eleanor said.
Maverick saw red. The cords in his throat bulged out; his eyes turned crimson. He pulled back from the door and headed for his brother.
Heaven and Liam were his bottom line, and he would fight his brother if it came to that.
