CHAPTER 135
CHAPTER 135
POV MATTHEW
“Well, the way she drank last night, I’d feel sick too,” Mad said, smiling.
“Elizabeth hasn’t been feeling well for days; it’s not good for her to drink so much,” Mrs. Amelia said, worried.
“Don’t worry, Mrs. Amelia, she was great last night, she even went to the bathroom with…” Mad tried to say, but I cut her off, and she just smiled.
“Mad, shut your mouth, for God’s sake,” I said seriously, and she kept smiling.
“What’s wrong with telling them you two locked yourselves in the bathroom and stayed there forever? I’m sure you were just helping Liz fix her makeup, trying to cover up how shameless you both were. Bet you christened that bathroom!” Mad said with a grin, making me embarrassed.
“Mad, stop being so inappropriate and respect everyone here,” I said firmly, and my dad looked at me seriously.
“My God, how shameful. How can you do things like that in public? I need to have a serious talk with Elizabeth. What’s with this fire that you two can’t even wait to get home? You’re not teenagers anymore. You’re married, you sleep together every night, and you can’t wait to get home?” Mrs. Amelia said in a reproachful tone, and I lowered my head, embarrassed, while Mad kept smiling.
“What fire, Daddy?” Elena asked, looking at me curiously.
“The fire for the barbecue that won’t light so we can cook the meat,” I said awkwardly, and she seemed to believe me. “Mrs. Amelia, nothing happened in the bathroom. It’s just Mad’s dirty mind making things up,” I said, glancing at Mad, who smiled sarcastically, and sat down next to Emma. “And you, Emma, did you like last night?” I asked, looking at her.
“Yes… I liked it a lot,” Emma replied cautiously, turning her attention back to her phone.
“Impossible not to like it, right Emma?” Mad said, smiling, and Emma lowered her head, staring at her phone.
“Mad, if I were you, I’d keep that poison to myself, or I’ll spill mine too,” I said seriously, referring to Wesley, and she stuck out her tongue at me, grinning.
“Why? What did you do, Emma?” Mrs. Amelia asked, looking suspiciously at Emma.
“Nothing, Mom, I didn’t do anything. I stayed with Mad the whole time,” Emma said nervously, and I raised an eyebrow at her while Mad confirmed her version.
But we both knew that wasn’t true. The last thing Emma did was stay with Mad, because she was making out with some guy she met there. But I wasn’t going to say anything.
My afternoon at my dad’s house was pleasant, but it would have been perfect if my wife were there.
Around six in the evening, I left with Elena. When we got home, Elizabeth was still sleeping. So I made dinner for Elena, and since she had already showered, I just put her pajamas on, brushed her teeth, and tucked her into bed.
After listening to my endless princess stories, she finally fell asleep. But honestly, I think she fell asleep out of boredom… I left her room, turned off the light, and went to mine.
I opened the door slowly, trying not to make any noise, and approached the bed, kissing Elizabeth’s back and neck.
“Good morning, baby, what time is it?” Elizabeth asked sleepily, and I smiled.
“It’s exactly seven forty in the morning,” she opened her eyes wide and jumped out of bed in seconds, making me laugh as I grabbed her arm. “Calm down, baby, I’m joking. It’s only eight at night,” I said, smiling, and she sighed in relief, sitting on my lap.
“You’re so funny these days, Mr. Matthew,” she kissed me. “You almost gave me a heart attack. I thought I was already late,” she said seriously, looking at me.
“Are you feeling better? Did you get some rest?” I asked gently, running my fingers through her hair.
“I rested too much, but I’m still so sleepy. I slept all afternoon and threw up too… I feel exhausted, even though I’ve done nothing,” she said seriously, looking at me.
“That’s the effect of the alcohol from last night, baby… But it’s also because you’ve been working so much these past days,” she nodded. “Did you eat anything today, love?” I asked, concerned.
“Nothing, just water. I couldn’t keep anything down today…” she got up, “oh my God, Elena, I need to make her dinner,” she said seriously.
“Calm down, baby, I already did that,” she sat back down. “And in case you didn’t notice, she’s already sleeping,” I said gently.
“Then I’ll go downstairs and make your dinner,” Elizabeth said, looking at me.
“No need, today I want you to rest. I’ll order us some Japanese food,” I said lovingly.
“No, baby, I’m not hungry… Just order for yourself,” she said seriously.
“No way, you need to eat something. You can’t go without food,” I said firmly.
“Don’t worry, I’ll make myself some chocolate milk,” she said, and we went downstairs to the kitchen.
I ordered my food while she made herself some chocolate milk and a sandwich. We had dinner together, but as soon as we finished, Elizabeth ran to the bathroom to throw up. I have to admit, I was starting to get worried about this situation.
After she vomited, we brushed our teeth and went to bed. That night there was no sex, but there was something much more important… Love, care, and companionship. I’ve learned that a relationship isn’t just based on sex. It’s built on companionship and the little things of daily life. Of course, sex is essential, but it’s not the most important thing.
After our night full of affection and love, she fell asleep with my fingers gently caressing her hair while I stayed awake.
I couldn’t help but worry about tomorrow because I’ll be starting with a new secretary, and I’m afraid… Afraid something might happen with Elizabeth. I have a messy record with her, and she might take everything the wrong way.
