Chapter 134
POV MATTHEW
After a few songs, we went to the bar. She ordered another drink, even though she was already visibly tipsy. But I didn’t say anything. I just watched her, smiling. She was so happy… and so was I. At that moment, nothing else mattered but the two of us.
I decided not to drink anything else because I was going to drive and I’d definitely need to take care of Elizabeth.
It was 3 a.m. when we decided to leave. I took Elizabeth to the car, said goodbye to everyone, and we left.
For the first time, I actually had fun at a club. The night was really pleasant – actually, it was an incredible night. We did something we had never done before in a club bathroom… I was starting to think I’d like to go clubbing with her more often.
When we got home, Elizabeth got out of the car a bit dizzy, and while I parked, she went inside.
Before going to the bedroom, I went to the kitchen to get some water and then went upstairs. When I entered the room, I heard Elizabeth throwing up. I quickly put the water on the nightstand and ran to the bathroom.
When I got there, I saw her sitting on the bathroom floor, throwing up into the toilet.
“Baby,” I said as I approached and helped her stand. “I told you all those drinks wouldn’t be good for you.” I held her, seeing she was dizzy and pale, barely able to stand. “Come on… I’ll give you a shower and get you into bed,” I said gently as I began to take her clothes off.
After undressing her, I tied her hair up the way I could and guided her under the shower, turning on the cold water.
“Baby, the water’s freezing,” Elizabeth grumbled.
“That’s your punishment for drinking too much – a cold shower in the middle of the night,” I said, smiling, and she laughed.
“You’re way too dressed and dry,” she said, pulling me under the shower fully clothed. “Now that’s how I like it,” Elizabeth whispered weakly, wrapping her arms around my neck.
“Baby, stop fooling around…” I tried to move back, completely soaked, but she grabbed me between my legs. “Baby, don’t tease me, please!” I said seriously and went back to washing her while she mumbled complaints.
I never imagined taking care of a drunk person would be this much work. After the shower, I put a bathrobe on her and, with great effort, brushed her teeth.
I took off my wet clothes and shoes, guided her to her closet, and grabbed a white silk nightgown, dressing her without panties, then carried her to bed and tucked her in carefully. I took a quick shower myself.

After showering, I put on some sweatpants and went to the kitchen to make her some tea. When I returned to the room, she was lying down with her hand on her head. I placed the tea on the nightstand and kissed her.
“Baby, drink this tea. It’ll make you feel better.” She sat up and began sipping it. “Baby, technically it’s supposed to be the wife taking care of the drunk husband, not the other way around,” I said, smiling, and she looked at me.
“I’m not drunk! The drink just didn’t sit well with me,” she grumbled, and I started to laugh.
“Of course you’re not drunk… every drunk person says that!” I said, smiling, and sat beside her, running my fingers through her hair. And so, as dawn broke, we fell asleep.

I woke up to my phone ringing. It was already past eleven in the morning. I forced my eyes open and saw it was Mad calling.
“Hey,” I answered with a raspy voice, still half asleep.
“Matt, we’re waiting for you guys. Are you going to take long?”
“I just woke up. I’ll wake Elizabeth so we can come. Where’s Elena?”
I looked to my side and didn’t see Elizabeth in bed, so I quickly sat up.
“She’s here playing, and she’s just fine. See if you guys can come soon, okay? Kisses!”
As soon as Mad hung up, I got up, put my phone on the bed, and went to the bathroom. When I got there, I saw Elizabeth sitting on the floor, asleep with her head resting on the toilet lid.
I couldn’t help but laugh at the scene, and my laughter woke her up.
“Drunks really are a work of art,” I said, still laughing, and grabbed her hand to help her up.
“I’m never drinking again, I swear,” Elizabeth mumbled, holding her head.
“Everyone says that. But are you feeling anything else?” I asked, concerned.
“Besides the headache and dizziness, I feel this horrible urge to throw up, and when I do, it’s like I’m puking out my heart and liver,” she said dramatically, and I chuckled. “Don’t laugh, Matthew, I’m being serious.”
“Okay, baby.” I kissed her forehead. “But will you be able to go to my dad’s house today?” I asked, looking at her.
“Baby, all I want today is to lie down and survive this awful hangover,” she said, pouting seriously.
“Do you want me to stay with you?” She shook her head. “If you want, I’ll stay here, taking care of my drunk wife,” I said, smiling, and she slapped my arm.
“I’m not drunk, but go to your dad’s. Bring Elena back home with you.” She said seriously, leaning in for a kiss, but I pulled back slightly.
“Baby, I love you, I really do, you’re the woman of my life, and I’m not disgusted by you… but this smell of vomit mixed with alcohol is not ideal for a kiss right now. Please!” I said seriously, and she laughed.
Then I showered, got dressed, and went to my dad’s house, but I couldn’t help feeling worried about leaving her alone.
When I got to my dad’s house, my little princess came running to me, hugging and kissing me, filling my heart with happiness.
“Where’s mommy, daddy?” Elena asked, looking towards the car.
“She couldn’t come, but she sent you lots of kisses.” I started kissing her all over, and she giggled, curling up in my arms. “She’s waiting for you at home later,” I said sweetly, carrying her inside. I went straight to the backyard where everyone was gathered and greeted them.
“My son, where’s Elizabeth?” Mrs. Amelia asked, looking around.
“She wasn’t feeling well, a bit under the weather, so we thought it was best she stayed home,” I said seriously, looking at her.
