CHAPTER 136
CHAPTER 136
POV MATTHEW
I woke up to my phone alarm going off for the third time—turns out I overslept. I stayed up way too late with my mind racing, and that ended up making me late.
As usual, I woke up alone in bed because Elizabeth had already left for work. She always leaves earlier than I do.
I got out of bed, took a nice relaxing shower, got dressed, and followed my usual routine—checked on Elena, who was still asleep, and went downstairs for breakfast.
“Good morning, Eleonor,” I said seriously as I sat down for breakfast.
“Good morning, sir. Would you like anything special for breakfast?” Eleonor asked, looking at me.
“The usual,” I replied, and she began to serve me. That’s when I received a message notification.
I started smiling like a fool when I saw it was from my beautiful wife.
— Good morning, love of my life! Just dropping by to wish you a wonderful day and an amazing start to the week. I love you!
— Good morning, my life! Wishing the same for you. I love you, my love! Are you feeling better? Have you had breakfast yet?
I sent the message and started eating as I waited for her reply.
— I woke up feeling much better, my love! Had a nice glass of juice to hydrate. Don’t worry. I love you, see you tonight!
I finished my breakfast calmly and then headed to the company, ready to face another day—whatever may come.
When I got to the office, I went straight to the elevator and up to the top floor, where the executive suite is located.
Before the elevator doors opened, I took a deep breath and walked confidently to my office.
I passed by the new secretary’s desk—it was empty but tidy, which made me think she might already be inside.
I ran my fingers through my hair, a little tense, and stepped in. She wasn’t there.
But the whole office was perfectly organized—papers that had been messy were now in place, blinds open letting in beautiful daylight, and the room had a soft, pleasant scent. There was even a cappuccino waiting on my desk.
It’s amazing how a woman’s presence changes everything. When they show up, they tend to make everything fall right into place.
Right off the bat, I could tell this Julia was efficient. But let’s see how she holds up during the day.
I got to work without needing to call her—until I got a call from Henry.
— So, how’s the new secretary? Efficient or just hot?
I took a deep breath.
— So far, she seems efficient. When I got here, everything was in order and she hasn’t bugged me with dumb questions… unlike someone I know.
He laughed on the other end.
— Come on, Matthew. I know that just like me, even without cheating on our lovely wives, we still appreciate a beautiful woman. You can’t deny they make a big difference. So? Is she hot or not?
— Honestly, I haven’t even seen her yet. I don’t really have time for that, unlike certain people.
Henry, don’t you have anything to work on? A report? A project? Because if not, I’ve got plenty I can send your way.
He laughed again. I hung up.
The rest of the morning went by, and since I was late, I skipped lunch. With the end of the year coming, deadlines were piling up, and we had to finalize projects and submit proposals.
But I needed to give my new secretary a few instructions, so it was finally time to meet her—and let’s hope for the best.
Henry talked so much about her and her “physical attributes” that it made me nervous… which I really shouldn’t be.
I hit the button on the phone to call her extension.
— Miss, please come to my office. I said seriously and hung up right after.
I turned my attention back to the projects on my desk when I heard a knock at the door, and then it opened.
Still with my head down, I slowly lifted my gaze—starting from her legs.
Black high heels, toned legs in a tight black skirt with a side slit that hugged her curves and revealed a sensual hint of thigh.
My eyes moved upward—she wore a sheer white blouse that revealed delicate lace from her white bra and a glimpse of cleavage. And what a view it was.
I kept moving up until our eyes met. Then I glanced at her lips—painted a deep wine color that made her mouth look even more inviting. She smiled beautifully.
And yes… I have to (unfortunately) agree with that bastard Henry—this secretary is sexy as hell.
I swallowed hard as she walked confidently toward me, her steps full of poise and sensuality. I subtly adjusted myself beneath the desk and cleared my throat, trying not to stare too obviously.
I couldn’t take my eyes off her curves, that incredible body, and those lips… seductive and striking with that wine lipstick.
Her cleavage—oh, that cleavage—nearly made me lose control of myself.
This is, without a doubt, the most attractive secretary I’ve ever seen.
Just looking at her makes my mind run wild—imagining all kinds of crazy things happening right here in this office, on top of this desk.
But there’s one detail that makes this even better…
Because this woman?
She’s not just a secretary.
She’s my beautiful, beloved wife. And I know every inch of those curves by heart.
Without a doubt, I was living the best phase of my life in every way. I was happy, fulfilled, and honestly, there was nothing more I needed.
The fact that Elizabeth left the job she loved so much to come work with me says a lot about her personal growth and how committed she is to our family and our marriage.
She keeps surprising me more and more, and each day I’m reminded of how blessed and privileged I am.
I pray to God every day that we never run out of love, companionship, and faith.
