Chapter 67

“He should drink your blood and should have sex with you everytime he become thrist for your blood. Once he continues doing that, he will get addicted to it so badly and won’t be able to stop himself. Your body gets weak, your soul gets weak and you will not be able to stay like you are staying right now. He didn’t want that thing to happen. He loved you truly despite everything. He didn’t want to harm you… All I have to tell you is this and I need you to be strong and brave and face your life.”

Elvira listened to Alec’s words without even making a little sound. She didn’t say anything. She had no words in her to tell. She could stare at Alec with so many emotions and thoughts filled eyes. Elvira’s lips had parted, pearl-like tear drops falling down from her eyes. She couldn’t understand anything. She felt the crushing sensation in her chest which made her heart feel so broken and numb. Alec’s words started to repeat in her mind. She couldn’t help but carefully think about every little word that he just said. Lain… he could have been saved.. He could have been alive. But…. It was all because of her. Elvira was extremely calm after hearing what Alec said.

“Wh-what?” Elvira finally muttered. Her voice was hoarse. She… she could have saved him? Elvira felt her whole body was thrown into a boiling water tank after hearing those words. It took some time for her to understand what Alec said completely. Her blood.. Her blood could save Lain? Elvira’s heart is covered with unbearable pain. She failed to hold the pain. Moving her hand, she clutched her dress against her chest and shook her head with disbelief. He did it for her? Just because she was scared when he sucked other people’s blood? He just let go of his own life just because he didn’t want to scare her?

Elvira’s body trembled with that thought. Her mind was easily suppressed with the way Lain looked at her with a smile on his face all the time. He knew this! He knew that he could live if he took her blood but still he didn’t want to hurt her. He didn’t want to scare her.How more protective he could become over her? His actions… His actions are hurting her more than she ever expected. But.. if she knew, she would have given him all her blood. Why didn’t he just talk to her instead of leaving her all alone with two children? Why? If she knew the truth about events, she would be strong. She would give him her blood.

“Why? Why didn't you tell me….. Why hide all these things from me? Alec…. You had to tell me! I would have given him my blood…. I don’t care as long as he’s alive beside me….. Why? Why couldn’t you tell these things earlier? Giving my blood is way too better than living my life without him…. Please… Lain…. Come back… I am willing to give you my blood.. I’m not scared of you anymore” Elvira started to hit her chest while crying. Alec immediately stopped her from doing it and clenched his jaws. He knew! He knew this! He fucking told Lain that she would not say no to him. But Lain was stubborn enough to hide everything from her.

“Please…. I need him back…. How can I live without him…. LAIN!!! You dumb selfish man!!!!! Come back!” She didn’t know how to release the pain inside of her chest. She was burning. She was burning with coldness around her. Without him, her life had been changed. She’s already in the hospital bed begging him to come back to live. She couldn't accept this and she was so hurt. She was going to give birth soon but he was not there for her. He has gone…. He would never ever come back to her.

“Why? Why.. didn’t he want to let me know the truth? It’s unfair….” Elvira covered her face with her hands while sobbing harder. Alec had no idea what to do other than watching her. He couldn’t comfort her and he couldn’t just make her mind set at ease. He was just an outside for her. Without Lain, he couldn't do anything. Alec patiently stood there while watching Elvira until she stopped her cries. Elvira again fell asleep on the bed after crying for hours. After she fell asleep, Alec walked out of the room. Coming out, he ordered the female warriors to take care of Elvira.

Alec went back to Lain’s house. Entering the house, he saw Lael who was waiting while sitting on the sofa. He had a plate of grapes in his hands but as Alec could see, he hadn’t eaten a single grape. He was just looking at the plate while playing with grapes with his little fingers. Alec’s heart skipped a beat with pain seeing him. Stepping towards the little boy, he sighed. Feeling his arrival, Lael looked up at him and smiled. His innocent smile brutally stabbed his heart. It was the smile that contained innocence and so many emotions that Alec couldn’t understand. He didn’t know about anything. He’s thinking that Lain was sleeping and once he grows up, Lain would wake up to see him.

“Did… sister come?” Suddenly he questioned Alec. Alec’s eyes widened. Does he think that Elvir went to hospital just to give birth to his sister? Shaking his head, Alec stroked Lael’s hair. He couldn’t help but recall about Lain while touching the boy’s head. They looked so much alike. They just simply looked so fucking similar. The same eyes, the same facial features… watching him, Alec felt his heart was in a wrenching pain. Everyone in the Osiris family was gone, including Lain.. but Lain had just left this child. He didn’t let his blood line die so easily, he wanted this. He never wanted his bloodline to stop after his death, that’s why he wanted kids and now he has but where is he now?

He had left his children and his woman. He didn’t know that they would be this sad once he left. Look at this little boy, he had no idea that he would never see his father ever again. He was filled with lies for his own good. Clenching his jaws, Alec smiled at Lael. seeing him smiling, Lael also smiled at him. His little smile was something that could hurt Alec’s heart to the deep core. His heart ached for the little toddler more than his heart ached for Elvira who was crying miserably asking for Lain to come back to her. Lain had spoiled her too much and now she really can’t live without him.

“Sister will come soon,” Alec muttered. Lael got down from the sofa and looked at him for a while before walking upstairs. Watching the little boy leave, Alec walked towards the room where Lain was staying right now. Entering the ice cold room, Alec looked at Lain. he had turned completely pale and cold. Looking at his dead body, Alec covered his face with both hands as he broke into tears. He couldn’t control himself anymore with this pain. He can’t believe that he had also lost everything around him.

First, he lost his parents and then he lost the little girl who was supposed to be his mate and share the life with him and now he had lost his best friend. How could he even bear this pain? He was also a man with feelings. While Elvira was crying for Lain loudly, he remained silent lowering his head but the pain inside of him never erased or never calmed him down. His heart was aching and his whole damn soul was aching. He was expecting this thing and he got ready to face this situation strongly but look at him now. He was also crying. He failed to be strong in front of Lain’s dead body.

“She fucking agreed to give you… blood. You are the one to ruin everything. You killed yourself because of your stubbornness” While crying, Alec muttered looking at Lain. no matter how he spoke and no matter how he shouted at lain, Alec knew that he would never ever answer him from now on. He would not give him orders and he would not control everything anymore. Those thoughts were killing him inside. Sitting on the cold floor, Alec waited there for hours until he got the message saying that Elvira had woken up.

“She’s completely heartbroken, Lain…” With that simple sentence, Alec left the room. He arrived at the hospital and entered the room where Elvira was. She was lying on the bed while stroking her belly. Her eyes were empty and she was staring at the ceiling above her. Pale lips, pale face and swollen eyes. Alec let out a deep sigh and stepped towards the bed. It’s already evening, she should have her food. He bet that she hadn’t eaten after last dinner.

“You need to eat.. I asked Aunt Maria to take food. She will be here soon.” Upon hearing Alec’s words, Elvira slowly turned her head and looked at him. Seeing the look that Elvira had on her face made Alec feel so hurt and depressed. She was crying. If she continues to cry like this, it will probably have consequences. She gazed at him for a while and parted her trembling lips to speak.

“Can… you take Lael here? I need my boy… right now” Elvira muttered. Alec nodded at her. He asked Maria to take Lale with her because Lain wanted to see Elvira. And he didn’t like staying at home alone without both Elvira and Lain. looking at Elvira’s expression for a while, Alec spoke.

“Aunt Maria will take him here in a while.” Elvira said nothing but look away from Alec. she stared out of the window of the room and bit her lower lip harder not wanting to think about Lain. If she thinks about Lain now, it will give her nothing but terrible pain. She didn;t want to experience that. It was just so fuckingpaunful. Her heart hurts every time along with her whole damn world. She believes that he’s still here watching her. She wanted to be brave and face everything just like he always asked her to.

“So, this is the same reason for Lain to not mark me right? He didn’t mark me because he’s leaving?” Elvira didn’t look at Alec. she was looking out of the window while asking that question. Alec gazed at her for a while and looked out of the window with so many thoughts in his mind. Of course, it was the reason for Lain not to mark her and it was just one reason. He clearly had two reasons for not marking her.

“He didn’t want you to go through the pain you will have after he dies if you were marked by him. And at the same time, he didn’t want to mark you because he would have to taste your blood. He was scared to do that” Elvira’;s face crumpled from the pain for one more time. Her eyes let out tears but she hardly managed herself not to cry because just like Alec said earlier, her cries won’t make him come back to her. Enduring the terrible pain in her chest, she nodded. This is why he didn’t give her a wedding. This is why he never tried to mark her even after she gave birth to Lael.

“What should I do now?” Elvira asked Alec. Alec let out a deep sigh. She had nothing to do. He was asked to take her somewhere far away and let her live without any trouble in her life. Knowing that there would be a war for the next alpha king position, Lain planned everything for Elvira and his children, along with Aunt Maria and her son. But they cannot go there yet because Elvira hadn’t given birth to the baby. As long as she gives birth, he would take her there without letting anyone know about it.

“After you give birth, you should leave here..” Elvira’s eyebrows twitched. She turned and looked at Alec’s face. She didn’t want to leave here. She had so many memories about Lain in here and she wanted to live with his memories since he was not going to come back to her. He had selfishly left her alone with two kids. Every time she thought about it, she felt a pain in her chest. Elvira suddenly shook her head, she didn’t want to leave here! She should raise her children here, where their father used to stay.

“I don’t want to leave… Why should I leave? Shouldn’t my children grow up in the place where their father used to do everything? They should know what kind of person their father was. Even if Lael knew Lain now, when he grows up he will eventually forget about Lain and this baby in my belly hasn’t even gotten a chance to see him and she will never be able to see her father… so are you asking me to leave here?” Elvira questioned him.

“I know… everything you say is true but I don’t want you to be at dan yr and Lain was the one to ask me this thing. He asked me to take you and the children away as soon as he died. He didn’t want anyone to find you once he’s gone” Elvira smiled upon hearing Alec. her smile was filled with the pain of losing Lain.
