Chapter 62
“Alpha, Luna.… it’s a boy…” A doctor held a tiny little baby in his hands as he carefully walked towards the bed of the baby’s mother and his father who was standing next to the bed with an excited filled smile on his face. The baby was crying so loudly. As he walked towards the couple, the baby’s father smiled happily while looking at the baby in the doctor’s arms before moving his eyes to the gorgeous woman who just gave birth to the baby. She was covered with sweat and her face was pale like a sheet. Her lips were trembling but her gorgeous emerald eyes were on the baby in the doctors’ arms.
“My baby boy….” She weakly muttered moving her trembling arms towards the baby. The doctor bent down and showed the baby to his mother and smiled. She looked at the baby’s face and saw he was crying. A smile appeared on her face and she gently poked his little cheek before looking at the baby’s father who had a love filled gaze in his eyes. She was so happy. She finally gave birth to their little son after impatiently waiting for so long. Her body has gone numb and she can’t even feel the lower part of her body because the pain made her go numb. But yet, she was smiling at her son.
“What’s the time? He was born” little baby boy’s mother questioned her husband. Outside was a heavy rain which was not merciful. Her son was born in the rain. She could hear the loud thunders and she could see the lighting through the window of the room she was in. It was such a rainy night.
“Sharply at three fifty nine..” he replied, making her let out a painful smile. She stared at her little boy and her eyes covered with tears. She had so many emotions in her that she didn’t know how to express them. Her husband might not have an idea about it yet, but she understood everything ever since the baby was growing inside of her belly. As his mother, she understood everything about him. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath and parted her lips to speak.
“In thirty years, sharply at three fifty nine in the dawn, he will…” She mumbled but she didn’t continue the last word because her heart was not strong enough to say it from her own mouth as soon as he was born into this world but his fate was confirmed already and she knew he will have to go through so much pain in the future. That’s why she had tears in her eyes. And at the same time she knew that she wouldn’t be there to see him growing up to be a young man.
“Let’s call him Lain Osiris…”
Lain’s thoughts stopped from that moment as he heard the sound of the heavy rain. It was the rainy season of this year. He was born with rain and he was going to die with the rain too. He didn’t know why he remembered those scenarios from almost thirty years ago. It was his mother’s memories. He had no idea how he could see through but that doesn’t matter, he just got to know that his mother knew about his death since the day he was born to this world.
Lain was standing at the window of his room while looking outside. It was the evening and tomorrow was his birthday. Time had passed within a blink of an eye. He was born to this world sharply at three fifty nine in the morning. And at the same time, his death would happen. Lain fists slowly curled upwards to tight balls and he took a deep breath while looking at the heavy rain. He hoped this rain would continue until he died. With that thought in his mind, he walked out of the room to find Elvira and Lael. As he went downstairs, he saw Alec and his warriors who were inside of his house. Everyone’s faces were pale and some of the female warriors had tears in their eyes.
Seeing his people, Lain let out a small smile and stepped towards them. He hoped that they would not stay here until Elvira saw them. He didn’t want Elvira to see them like this and he didn’t want to answer countless questions that Elvira would aim at him after seeing his strong warriors and his strong beta who was about to cry. Standing in front of them, Lain watched everyone’s faces and smiled. He didn’t know what to do other than smiling at his people.
“Thank you for coming here but you guys have to leave before she sees you here like this.. And about every rose in your hands, I hope you will put it on my mother’s grave. Thank you!” Lain muttered looking at them. All of them looked at him with pain filled eyes and stared at him for a while before lowering their heads but Alec never lowered his head nor did he have a rose in his hands. He was just looking at him with so many emotions filled eyes. After some time, all the warriors left the house but Alec remained without moving. Watching Alec’s face, Lain let out a small smile.
“So that means, I will not see you alive tomorrow morning when I come here?” Alec asked, breaking Lain’s heart brutally. A painful smile appeared on Lain’s face. He looked into Alec’s eyes and nodded. No one will see him alive from tomorrow onwards. It’s already evening and once he went to sleep at night, he would never wake up again. Not even Elvira would see him alive from tomorrow onwards.
“Take care of everything until Lain grows up and is ready to step onto my seat as the new Alpha.. I know you can…” Lain muttered. Alec lowered his head but he never replied for what Lain said. All he did was stay as if he heard nothing about what Lain uttered. Stepping towards Alec, Lain patted on his shoulder.he knew that Alec was so hurt and he was so fucking sad with what was about to happen.
“Good luck for everything in your future. I will not be able to stand by your side anymore but I know that will not affect you because you are strong. You are always strong enough to do everything alone.. Believe in yourself” Tears rolled down from Alec’s eyes as he listened to Lain. he pushed Lain’s hand away from his shoulder and looked into Lain’s eyes. Seeing his tears, Lain’s heart clenched with pain.
“Don't! Just don’t fucking speak and hurt my feelings even more. It’s enough Lain… it’s so fucking enough!” Alec wiped his tears as he spoke. His voice was brittle and he had the burning pain written all over her face. He was going to lose his best friend, his Alpha and the man who helped him with every fucking thing. So, how can he not be sad when something is going to happen? It’s so fucking painful to him. Lain let out a deep sigh and nodded at Alec with an apologetic face.
“Alright.. I’m sorry. Give me a hug.. You should leave now, I need to be with her and Lael now” Lain muttered as he moved closer to Aelc and pulled him to a hug. Alec hugged Lain so tightly and stayed like that for a while before nodding at him. He can bear this pain but he had no idea how that pregnant Elvira would endure his death tomorrow after she got to know the truth about everything. He didn’t know how that little boy would be fitted to life without his father. But without saying anything to Lain, Alec talked with him for a while and left the house with tears in his eyes. He would never be able to see his childhood and best friend ever again after today.
After Alec left the house. Lain stared at the entrance of the house with so many emotions in his eyes. Lowering his eyes, he looked at his hands which were dark need already. He let out a deep and sorrowful sigh before turning and walking into the kitchen while sniffing the air. He could feel the delicious smell of a cake and he knew it was what Elvira was making for him. Standing at the entrance of the kitchen, he looked at Elvira who was eating grapes while Lael was eating at an apple. And Aunt Maria was also there helping Elvira with everything.
Feeling his presence behind her, she looked back at him and smiled. Lain smiled back at her and stepped into the kitchen. As he came into the kitchen, Aunt Maria looked at him. As she watched him, her eyes covered with tears but she immediately looked away from him and continued working. Lain clenched his jaws and shifted his gaze away without thinking about anything anymore. No one could stop his death and everyone had to experience it. It was neither his default or their fault. It was the nature of becoming a blood alpha.
“Umay, why don’t you take a rest now?” Lain muttered as he stood behind her and wrapped his hands around her belly. Elvira rested back of her head against his chest and looked up at him as she shook her head. She didn’t want to move away until she saw the cake that she made for him. Seeing her reaction, Lain chuckled and kissed her forehead. She was just so fucking cute and lovely to handle. He would keep her in his arms like this almost everyday in his life. She was so comfortable.
“Why don’t you let me taste it now?” Lain teased her. Elvira shook her head and turned to him with a frown. He knew it. He knew that she would not let him taste it with her attitudes when it comes to things like this. Lain chuckled seeing her and shook his head with an understanding gaze. He knew that he would not be able to taste it and he had no hopes about the cake or anything anymore. In the past four years, he slowly let go of everything but the only thing he failed to do was letting go of Elvira and his son. But still he was trying hard to let go of them.
“You will have it tomorrow Lain… please be patient. Don’t be like a baby” kissing his hand, she muttered. Lain nodded at her with a smile. He wouldn't go against her words and he would not let her feel anything. Lain looked at his son who was sitting on the counter top of the kitchen while having his apple peacefully. Seeing him, Lain smiled and stepped towards the boy as he picked him up. Lael giggled as Lain picked him up and kissed his forehead. He loved it when his daddy picked him up. He loved touching Lain’s strong shoulders.
“My little boy, you should be obedient to mommy and listen to her okay? You should be the strongest and powerful man once you grow up. You should make daddy proud” he said. Lale nodded at Lain with a happy expression on his face. He smiled at Lain and kissed Lain’s cheek happily. Elvira watched both father and son and moved closer to Aunt Maria who was lowering her head all the time. Suddenly, Elvira saw tear drops fall down from Maria’s eyes. Her heart tightened. She touched Aunt Maria’s shoulder before speaking.
“Aunt, what’s the problem? Why are you crying?” Lain looked at Aunt Maria who was lowering her head. As soon as Elvira asked her why she was crying, her shoulders began to tremble and she started to cry harder. Lain’s heart tightened seeing her crying. He felt the fear thinking that Aunt Maria would tell Elvira now about everything. He didn’t want to make Elvira sad. He wanted to see her being happy until he died. That’s why he decided not to tell her about anything.
If she got to know about this, he would always see her tears and she would not even smile often but because she knew nothing about this truth, she was always smiling at him and always spending her time so happily. How could he ruin it? He couldn’t ruin it and he didn’t want to do it. As he watched Aunt Maria crying, she raised her head and looked at him while tears were rolling down from her eyes.
“No… my lady, I just remembered my dead husband.. That’s why I cried” Aunt Maria muttered looking at Lain. Lain knew that she was lying. He smiled at Maria and nodded. He was glad that she didn’t utter anything.
“I’m sorry, aunty… you told me about him… I’m really sorry” Elvira hugged Aunt Maria and patted her back gently wanting to comfort her but she had no idea that Aunt Maria was crying for her. It was not for Maria’s husband who died years ago but for Elvira who would be alone with two kids from tomorrow onwards.
