Chapter 61
“Yes, everyone has their own birthday baby…” Elvira muttered as she got up from the sofa. She looked at Lain and smiled before walking out of the study room. Lain asked if she wanted him to help her to go but she gently refused him as she went to their room. Coming into the room, Elvira stepped into the dressing room. She opened the wardrobe and moved to her side as she opened a drawer. Opening it, she looked at the box inside of it. Elvira’s lips slowly curled upwards to a smile as she thought about how Lain would react once he saw the gift that she bought for him.
Elvira opened the box and looked at the gift. She didn’t look at it for so long. She just closed it again and put it inside of the drawer before walking out of the dressing room. Elvira went to the bed and hardly got onto it. Lying on the bed, she placed her both hands against her belly and closed her eyes while feeling her baby’s movements. Her baby is going to come soon. Only three more weeks for her baby to come. Elvira couldn’t wait to see the gender of the baby. She hoped it would be a daughter because they don’t have a daughter yet but at the same time she liked a boy too because giving birth to another boy will make their family strong. While her mind was thinking about so many things, she slowly fell asleep.
Elvira was in deep sleep but she was dreaming about something serious. Elvira could see Lain who was standing a few miles away from her. She was so tired of walking after him but he was just walking without looking back at her. Elvira stopped following him. She had no idea where he was going. She looked around the place that they were to see it was a place which was filled with huge and tall trees. But there was a long path and he was walking through it. She had never seen this place before. And she was curious why Lain was walking away without waiting for her.
“LAIN!!!! Stop… wait for me!” Elvira shouted. Upon hearing her voice, he suddenly stopped. Letting out a deep sigh in relief after seeing that he stopped walking, Elvira hurried her steps towards him but she felt the road was getting long and long as she couldn’t manage to reach him. She looked at Lain who was looking at her with a deadly pale face and she suddenly stopped. Her heart started to beat so fast, she bit her lower lip and stared at his face.
“It’s enough! Don’t follow me anymore… I can’t take care of you.. Just go back.. Don’t come after me” Lain parted his lips and spoke. At the same time, Elvira’s body shuddered as the chilly wind hit across her body. Goosebumps appeared all over her body and she looked at Lain with utterly shocked eyes. Why is he asking her not to follow him? He cannot take care of her? But why? He always took care of her. She cannot do anything without him because he was her protector and her secure. Her mind was dazed but she still took a few steps closer to him which made Lain’s eyes turn cold.
“I said LEAVE! Didn’t you hear me? Don’t be a burden to me anymore. Just go and live on your own! Let me go now.. You held me enough!” Abandoning that sentence, he turned and walked away without even sparing a glance at Elvira who was watching him with tears in her eyes. She cried looking at him. She slowly disappeared from her sight and even if she tried to run after him, she couldn’t do it. She felt that her legs were glued to the ground. Elvira’s heart started to ache, she clutched the flimsy dress she was wearing and shook her head not wanting to believe that he was gone.
“LAIN... NO! COME BACK…” Elvira screamed looking at the direction he left and at the same time Elvira’s eyes snapped open making her realize that she was just having a nightmare. At the same time, Lain braved into the room and looked at her with confused eyes. Elvira stared at him and took heavy and deep breaths. He’s here… he’s here… she knew it.. He was not going to leave. She comforted herself looking at Lain. Lain stepped towards the bed and touched Elvira’s forehead as he frowned.
“You had a nightmare?” While stroking her hair gently, he asked her. Elvira’s mind slowly relaxed. He is here.. His voice is here. Closing her eyes, she took another deep breath and nodded as she held Lain’s hand with both her hands. She was scared to lose him. She didn’t want to lose him. She held his hand tightly and calmed herself down. Should she tell him what she saw? She didn’t know what to say. Opening her eyes, she looked at Lain’s gorgeous emerald orbs which were filled with worry. He was worried about her.
“I.. I saw you leaving me… such a ridiculous dream.. I know.. You won’t leave” Elvira spoke with a smile on her face. She knew that Lain would not leave her or her kids. He was a responsible man for everything and he would never abandon his responsibilities. After she said that, she closed her eyes and hugged his hand against her chest without letting him go. Even though Lain’s face looked somewhat pale, he was not as pale as he was in her dream. Why the hell did she see such a meaningless dream? She was ove thing and her pregnancy hormones made her overthink..
“Lain… did I disturb you by screamin? Did I scream just now?” Opening her eyes again, Elvira questioned Lain. she looked into Lain’s eyes and saw that his eyes were reddened. She didn’t know the reason but she felt it was weird. His eyes held sadness. She saw the way his eyes had changed the expression they possessed before. His eyes were darkened and it was filled with sadness. Elvira pressed her lips together and shook her head. She had really disturbed him. Moving her hand, she touched his face and smiled. She didn’t want to bother him anymore, she was tired and wanted to sleep.
“I’m sorry, I bothered you. I will sleep now.. I think it’s a sleeping beauty inside of me, that’s why I always feel sleepy” Patting Lain’s cheek gently, Elvira giggled and closed her eyes to sleep. Even though she acted as if everything was okay, her heart was still aching because of the dream she saw. She couldn’t understand why she saw something like that all of sudden. Everything has a reason and she wondered what was the reason behind this dream because this is the first time she’s seeing something like this. She never had dreams and it’s been years since she last remembered that she had a dream but today she saw a sad and heart piercing one. She would never want to see dreams again in her life.
“Alright sleep.. I’ll wake you up when your soup is ready” Kissing elvira’s forehead, Lain muttered. Ellvira didn’t open her eyes to look at him but she nodded with a small smile. After some time, she felt Lain was leaving the room. Clutching her dress tightly, Elvira opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling above her with countless thoughts in her mind. She was not in a good mood after seeing that dream. Fearful thoughts came from nowhere into her heart making her unable to escape from those. She didn’t even want to think about a life without Lain and she was scared.
Lain was everything. He was the balance of everything in this world. According to the moon goddess’s truth, when a Blood Alpha is born, he will be the balancing point in the world and he will make everything stable. Just like Lain balancing the house, he was doing it to the whole world but once he left, a war will happen for sure. Elvira didn’t want a war to come. A war means losing countless lives of innocent people. How could that even happen? She sighed and shook her head. Nothing will happen to him and he won’t leave her and Lael and this baby in her belly. He cannot leave them alone. Letting out a deep sigh, she shut her eyes and placed her hands on her belly while feeling her baby’s movements inside of her as she slowly drifted into sleep again.
“Umay… wake up. It’s already two in the afternoon. Have your lunch, it’s already late” Elvira was in deep sleep when she heard Lain’s faint voice. And at the same time, she felt someone was caressing her belly. Opening her eyes, she was greeted with a pair of emerald eyes which made her heart skip a beat. Looking at Lain, she smiled and rubbed her eyes. She was still sleepy. Looking at Lain’s hand that he was caressing her belly, she smiled and parted her lips to speak.
“Moving?” she questioned him. Lain chuckled and nodded. Of course her baby was moving. Watching Lain’s happy face, Elvira couldn’t help her smile. He looked so handsome while he was smiling. Soon after, Lain helped Elvira to sit up on the bed and he made her lean against the headboard of the bed. He scanned her face for a few seconds and then he let out a deep sigh. Lain looked so stressed and he looked pale. Elvira couldn't help herself but touch his face to feel that he was somewhat cold. Her heart skipped a beat with fear and she spoke.
“Why is your face pale and cold? The warmth in your face is getting low” Elvira frowned. Lain’s eyes traveled through her face and he shook his head with a simple smile which showed that it was nothing and no need to be scared. Watching his smile, Elvira moved her hands to his neck and touched him to feel that he was cold there also. Her heart tightened. So many unknown thoughts appeared in her mind and she waited for his answer. After a few seconds Lain answered her question.
“I was out finding Lael’s ball. It’s so cold outside. No wonder why I’m also cold” He looked very honest when he said that. She knew that it was so cold outside these days. Nodding at him, she smiled. There was no need to think about it because she knew Lael was really good at hiding his toys and then made Lain find them. Ignoring the coldness in his face, she smiled at him. Lain helped Elvira to get up from the bed and he simply carried her out of the room. He took her into the dining room and placed her on the floor. Elvria walked towards the sink and washed her mouth before walking towards the table and sitting on it.
She was so hungry. She wanted to eat more because of her pregnancy. Lain sat in front of her and watched Elvira eating. Feeling his gaze on her, Elvira looked at Lain. he had a small and satisfied smile on his face as he watched her. Elvira raised her eyebrows at him in a questioning manner. She had no idea what’s interesting. Watching his face while continuing her food, she sighed.
“Haven’t you seen me eating before?” Elvira’s tone was dramatic as she asked that. Lain hummed. Then he took a spoon and put more food onto her plate, making Elvira laugh. Does he want her to be like a pig? She couldn’t understand… he always brought food for her and then he fed her. He always asks her to eat because she was not alone and she had another life inside of her.
“Lain… you want me to be like a pig? If I get fat and ugly, you will not need me anymore” Elvria teased him. Lain strictly shook his head upon hearing her statement. He would never not need her even if she became like an elephant.
“Even if you become like a pig or an elephant, I will still need you” Elvira pressed her lips together and stared at him. An elephant? He must be joking! Rolling her eyes at him, she continued her food and finished the whole plate before looking at Lain. Lain was lowering his head and he was looking at his hands but feeling her gaze on him, he looked at her and smiled.
“I think.. I need an apple right now” Lain laughed and got up from the chair as he walked out of the dining room. Subsequently, he came into the dining room with an apple in his hands which made Elvira giggle. She had the apple and caressed her belly because she was so full. She stayed there for a while and looked at Lain.
“Where’s Lael?” she questioned Lain.
“Alec took him to the training field. He will be back soon” Elvira hummed and smiled at Lain. she didn’t feel any fear to give Lael to Alec because she trusted Alec. Alec really loved Lael and took care of him well whenever he could.
