Chapter 117 The Lipstick Mark She Left on Andrew's Clothes
This came so suddenly that not just her, even Andrew didn't have time to react.
He could only instinctively raise his hand to protect the person beside him.
"Sorry, that car just suddenly cut in front of us and startled me..." David in the front seat was still shaken and wanted to explain.
But before he could finish, his words got stuck in his throat when he saw what appeared in the rearview mirror.
The scene in the back seat was way too stimulating.
Olivia had practically fallen halfway onto the back seat, her soft body nestled against Andrew's chest in an intimate position, with one hand pressed on his thigh.
And Andrew, who usually kept his distance from women, had his hand on her waist in a completely protective gesture.
David thought, 'What's going on? How did they end up in each other's arms in the blink of an eye?'
He'd been with Andrew for so many years, and this was the first time he'd seen a woman get close to him multiple times like this.
Olivia was even more confused than David right now.
She never imagined something this awkward would happen.
Even though it happened suddenly, the contact with Andrew was very real.
At such close distance, she could almost feel his body heat, his heartbeat, and his warm breath gently falling near her ear.
That familiar cedar scent enveloped her completely.
Of course, that wasn't even the worst part.
What made her most breathless was that her whole face had just bumped into his collarbone and neck area, and her hand was still on his thigh.
Through the fabric of his dress pants, she could feel the tension in Andrew's leg muscles.
Olivia was at a loss.
Just as she was blushing with embarrassment, Andrew's deep voice came from above, "Are you hurt?"
As he spoke, Andrew gently helped her sit up and quickly let go.
Olivia replied uneasily, "No... what about you? When I bumped into you just now, it was... pretty hard. Did I hurt you?"
Andrew shook his head, his tone calm, though his voice seemed to carry a barely noticeable huskiness, "No, you're not heavy."
The impact had indeed been quite strong.
But she was so light that he didn't feel much weight, so naturally it didn't hurt.
Olivia was about to breathe a sigh of relief when she suddenly noticed the lipstick mark on Andrew's shirt.
It must have gotten there when she bumped into him.
Olivia panicked again, "I'm sorry, I got your shirt dirty. I'll... clean it up right away."
She quickly rummaged through her bag for wet wipes and started wiping it off for him.
Andrew's shirt was made of excellent fabric, clearly custom-made and expensive.
Unfortunately, no matter how expensive the shirt was, lipstick marks weren't easy to remove.
After working at it for a while, not only was it not clean, it had spread even more. It looked terrible.
Olivia was speechless.
Why did she always embarrass herself in front of Andrew?
Feeling extremely awkward, she suggested, "How about... I just buy you a new one?"
Andrew glanced at the red mark on his shirt, his eyes darkening slightly, and said casually, "It's fine, it's just a shirt. No need to replace it. Put your seatbelt on first to avoid what just happened from happening again."
After saying that, he coolly looked up toward the front seat, his gaze meeting David's in the rearview mirror, and continued, "Watch the road properly. Do you want another accident?"
David jumped, immediately becoming obedient, "No, no way."
But the storm in his heart hadn't stopped.
Andrew, who usually couldn't stand even a little dirt on his clothes, actually didn't mind getting lipstick on them.
He must be hallucinating, right?
Later, the car arrived smoothly at Olivia's place.
She said a quick goodbye and ran off without looking back.
Andrew watched her retreating figure, a subtle smile flashing in his eyes, and soon went back too.
When he got home, the first thing he did was change his shirt.
Although the lipstick mark had spread a bit from the wet wipe, the lip print was still very clear.
He looked at it for a few seconds, casually hung it on a hanger, and didn't bother with it anymore.
It wasn't until Olivia got inside her home that the awkwardness finally faded completely.
Victoria and Yara were cooking.
Bianca was holding a hot dog, feeding Lightning, saying in a sweet childlike voice, "You're so good, this is your reward..."
Lightning barked twice, as if responding, then continued eating.
When Olivia saw this, she walked over and asked, "What good thing did Lightning do now?"
Victoria happened to be bringing out a dish and responded, "Lightning did something amazing. I was cooking fish in the kitchen and forgot to turn off the stove. The water had all boiled away. Lightning noticed something was wrong, came over and tugged at my pants, kept barking, and prevented a fire."
Talking about it, she still felt shaken. She walked over to pat Lightning's head and said, "Lightning deserves a big reward. We have to give it extra food tonight!"
Olivia suddenly understood and immediately praised Lightning too, "Well done, I'll give you extra beef tonight."
When Lightning heard this, its eyes lit up vividly, its short tail wagging so fast it was almost a blur, and the whole dog jumped on her, rubbing against her enthusiastically.
"Can it really understand?"
Vaughn saw this scene and laughed too.
That evening, the whole family plus the little dog, had a delicious dinner together in harmony.
Afterward, Vaughn and Victoria played with Bianca.
Olivia sat to the side shopping, looking at men's shirts.
No matter what, she had to replace Andrew's shirt. Otherwise, she'd feel guilty.
But before she could finish choosing, her phone received an anonymous text message.
Someone had sent her several pictures.
They were... of Michael and Sophia embracing.
Looking at the background of the photos, it was even at Silverbrook Manor.
That sofa, those furnishings—she knew them all too well.
Olivia only glanced at them once before feeling how ironic it was.
Michael acted perfectly on the outside, but privately at home, he was having such a good time.
Although in the photos, Michael was facing sideways and his expression wasn't clear, the look on Sophia's face clearly indicated what was about to happen next.
Olivia perked up.
Who sent these photos?
Was it with good intentions or bad?
But either way, this could definitely become evidence for her divorce!
Olivia's fingers moved quickly, immediately saving each one.
At the Brown Villa, Sophia had just gotten off work in the evening when she received a call from Bronte Langley and Terrence Brown, asking her to come home for dinner.
The dishes on the table were very rich, but they hadn't eaten much before Terrence spoke up, "You've been back in the country for months now. Why haven't you won Michael over yet? It's just Olivia—is she really that hard to deal with? Hurry up and find a way to settle things with him!"
Bronte chimed in from the side, "Michael doesn't love Olivia. Getting her to leave should be easy for you, right? Why is it taking so long? Are you running into some difficulties?"
Sophia didn't answer, feeling somewhat irritated inside.
She had thought the same way at first, that winning over Michael would be easy.
But now Olivia had pushed for divorce several times, yet he was the one who wouldn't agree.
She couldn't quite figure out what Michael was thinking either.
Since he said he didn't love Olivia, why wouldn't he just divorce her?
"Mom, Dad, Michael and I are just one step away. Once we make things official, everything will fall into place naturally.
But I need some help... The main reason he's been dragging out the divorce is because of Bianca's custody.
So maybe we should approach this from Amelia and Hayden's side."
