Chapter 87 Watch Your Gaze
Sophia had expected Michael to blow up and use it as an excuse to kick Olivia out.
But to her surprise, he turned around and demanded that Aiden apologize.
She was both shocked and furious.
Michael had really changed!
He no longer stood by her side unconditionally, protecting Aiden like he used to.
Aiden felt incredibly wronged.
Bianca was fine, so why was Michael making him apologize?
He was unwilling, his face darkening as he pouted and stood still.
Michael frowned, his voice stern, "Aiden, apologize!"
Aiden flinched, seeing that Michael seemed genuinely angry. After a long pause, he reluctantly muttered, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..."
Olivia could tell his apology was insincere, and his eyes still held a trace of resentment and malice as he looked at her, making her expression turn cold.
This kid was pure trouble!
Even after being scolded, he showed no signs of remorse.
In the past, he had shown hostility towards Bianca several times, and this time he even resorted to physical violence.
Next time, he might actually use a knife.
It was truly unforgivable!
Olivia's face was full of disgust. "Spare me the fake apology. Neither Bianca nor I need it! And today's incident isn't something that can be brushed off with a simple 'sorry'!"
Bianca had suffered so much, and a mere apology couldn't make up for it.
She wanted Aiden to experience the same level of suffering!
Michael, seeing her aggressive stance, was about to ask, "Then what do you want?"
But before he could speak, Olivia had already made her move.
Taking advantage of everyone's momentary shock, she stepped forward, grabbed Aiden, and swiftly carried him towards the side hall of the Johnson Mansion.
"Olivia, what are you doing?" Sophia was the first to shout.
The Johnson family members also called out her name sharply.
But Olivia ignored them!
She quickly made her way to the Johnson family's ancestral hall, and once there, she shut Aiden inside.
The ancestral hall was filled with the Johnson family's ancestral tablets, the hall dimly lit with flickering candles, giving it a cold and eerie atmosphere.
Aiden had been screaming and struggling when Olivia carried him, even trying to scratch her.
Now, being suddenly thrown into this place, he burst into tears, terrified.
He screamed and pounded on the door, shouting, "Let me out, let me out..."
Olivia stood firmly at the door, ignoring him.
She wanted him to taste real fear!
By this time, Sophia and the rest of the Johnsons had caught up, along with a crowd of curious onlookers.
As they arrived, they could hear Aiden's heart-wrenching cries.
Sophia was heartbroken and furious. "Olivia, are you out of your mind? Why'd you lock Aiden in there? Let him out right now!"
She tried to push Olivia aside.
Olivia coldly slapped her hand away, standing her ground. "Why should I let him out? He did something wrong and showed no remorse. If you can't teach your kid, someone else will! Bianca was in that pit for as long as she was. Let him stay in there for the same amount of time!"
Amelia, seeing Olivia's domineering behavior, was also furious.
The birthday banquet had been ruined once again.
And now Olivia had brought the chaos to the ancestral hall.
"Olivia, don't be so reckless. The ancestral hall is not a place for your antics. Open the door and let Aiden out immediately!"
The Johnson family members were equally displeased.
Olivia looked at them coldly. "Why can't we come to the ancestral hall? The person inside nearly harmed the Johnson family's bloodline tonight. Shouldn't he repent in front of our ancestors? Since Bianca has no elders to protect her in this family, I can only ask our ancestors to intervene! As for you, standing in front of the ancestral tablets and ignoring your own granddaughter's life while protecting an outsider, do you have any face to confront them?"
Her words left the Johnsons speechless.
Even Amelia and Hayden had nothing to say!
Sophia felt her heart sink.
She was desperate, her eyes red with anger. "Olivia, you're too much! Aiden is only four years old. How can you be so cruel to him?"
Evelyn, standing nearby, sneered, "Is this cruelty? When your son pushed Bianca into a pit, did you not think that was cruel? I saw you at the banquet, eating happily, probably feeling very pleased, and even celebrating with a drink? To you, your son is precious, while other people's children are nothing. If the pain doesn't touch you, you don't feel it, right?"
"You... you're talking nonsense! I didn't!" Sophia denied it vehemently.
But the guests started whispering among themselves.
"Didn't she? At the banquet, she was smiling the whole time, parading around with that kid, toasting everyone. I almost thought she was the Johnson family's daughter-in-law."
"So, that kid really pushed the Johnson family's granddaughter into a pit?"
"At four years old, to be so malicious, what will he become in the future? A criminal? It's terrifying!"
"A kid that young might not be inherently evil. Maybe he's been influenced by the adults around him."
Sophia heard this and panicked.
What were these idiots gossiping about?
If this continued, her reputation would be ruined!
In desperation, Sophia turned to Michael. "Michael, what Aiden did to Bianca was definitely an accident. You know, he's usually just a bit mischievous, but he'd never do something like that intentionally. Today, Olivia is slandering him in front of everyone. If this goes on, Aiden's life will be ruined! Now she's locked him in there. Aiden has learned his lesson. Please, get him out!"
Michael frowned deeply, instinctively looking at Olivia.
But Olivia didn't give him a chance to speak. She locked the door with a key.
In the past, Amelia had often asked her to clean the ancestral hall, so she always had the key with her.
After locking the door, she coldly glanced at Sophia. "Want to save him? Let's see when you can open the door!"
With that, she left with Evelyn.
Sophia hurried to push the door.
But the door was of excellent quality, and this was the Johnson family's ancestral hall, with a unique lock.
Without the specific key, it couldn't be opened!
"Where's the spare key? Somebody get the spare key..."
Sophia, unable to open the door, pleaded with the Johnson family members.
It was only then that Amelia snapped out of it and called for the butler. "Where's the spare key? Go find it!"
The butler quickly obeyed.
However, since the spare key was rarely used, it took some time to find it.
By the time they opened the door, half an hour had passed.
Aiden was sobbing uncontrollably, lying on the ground, muttering, "Mommy, I'm scared..."
Sophia, heartbroken, held him, her chest filled with overwhelming anger and hatred towards Olivia.
Michael, seeing Sophia and Aiden, couldn't bear it and helped them up.
Aiden, feeling wronged, said, "Daddy Michael, that bad woman bullied me!"
Michael patted his head, trying to comfort him, but said, "Don't call her that. Today's incident was caused by your prank. You've learned your lesson, so don't do it again."
Aiden couldn't believe it.
After all this, why was Michael still defending that bad woman?
Sophia's nails dug into her palms.
After all the humiliation they endured today, was Michael just going to let it go?
She felt deeply hurt and terrified.
Could Olivia's push for divorce have really shaken his feelings? Was he starting to care about Olivia?
That night, after the banquet ended and the guests had left, with no outsiders around, Amelia dared to curse Olivia openly. "Look at that woman, so audacious, repeatedly coming back to ruin the Johnson family's reputation! She used to pretend to be weak and harmless, but now she dares to defy us. She hid her true nature well, so scheming, knowing she couldn't compete with Sophia, so she deliberately wants to torment us! She married you with bad intentions from the start!"
This last remark was directed at Michael.
Michael, feeling irritated, ignored her and just scrolled through his phone.
He had wanted to call Olivia several times to ask about Bianca, but thinking of Olivia's cold attitude, he gave up.
After leaving the Johnson Mansion, Olivia and Evelyn headed straight to the military district.
On the way, Evelyn recalled Aiden's pitiful cries and felt particularly pleased. "To deal with such a bad kid, you can't use conventional methods. Only by making him suffer will he remember!"
Olivia didn't agree. "With a mother like Sophia, that kid... won't change so easily! His evil nature is already showing, and he knows how to act and hide it. It's not something that can be changed quickly."
Her actions today were just to seek justice for Bianca. She didn't expect Aiden to truly realize his mistakes.
Evelyn frowned. "That woman is truly hopeless!"
Olivia, feeling it was unlucky to talk about it, didn't want to continue.
Later, they arrived at the military district.
Since Evelyn couldn't enter, Olivia asked Andrew to bring Bianca out.
Evelyn perked up, excited. "Last time, I only caught a glimpse of that man's side profile. Tonight, will I get to see his full face?"
Olivia found it amusing and warned her. "You'd better watch your gaze later and don't scare Mr. Hamilton!"
Evelyn confidently replied, "Don't worry, I may love looking at handsome men, but I won't go overboard... unless Mr. Hamilton is beyond imagination!"
Shortly after, a luxurious Maybach slowly drove out from the district and stopped in front of them.
A few seconds later, the rear door opened, and a long, well-dressed leg stepped out first.
Then a tall, upright figure emerged, followed by a flawless face.
Evelyn was stunned.
She realized her earlier words were premature! This face... how could she look away?
She couldn't get enough of it!
