Chapter 60 The Whole Family Are Hypocrites
After hanging up, Olivia first took Bianca to school.
Then she called Evelyn to update her on the change of birthday plans.
Evelyn listened to her reasons and didn't mind at all. In fact, she eagerly suggested, "Let's celebrate at the hotel. I'll go with you. I'm curious to see what Michael is up to!"
Olivia nodded.
That evening, Olivia and Evelyn went to pick up Bianca from school.
As usual, Benjamin was holding her little hand as they came out.
Bianca seemed very happy, with a smile on her face and her arms full of beautifully wrapped gifts.
Olivia was quite surprised. "Why are you carrying so many things? What are they?"
In her sweet, childlike voice, Bianca answered, "They're birthday presents from my teacher…"
Olivia looked at Benjamin in astonishment. "Really?"
Benjamin confirmed, "Yes, when you registered her, I noticed her birthdate. So today, we organized a little birthday celebration for her. These are gifts the teachers specially prepared."
Olivia was genuinely surprised.
She hadn't expected Benjamin to have such a good memory, remembering it from just a glance.
She felt grateful. "Thank you, that was very thoughtful of you!"
Benjamin waved it off. "It's nothing. Take Bianca home to celebrate her birthday. She must be looking forward to it."
Olivia smiled at Bianca's sparkling eyes.
She was indeed very excited, her expressions making her look even more lively.
After thanking Benjamin, Olivia took Bianca and left.
In the car, Evelyn immediately hugged Bianca. "Sweetie, look at the birthday present I got for you. I picked it out very carefully. You'll love it!"
With that, Evelyn opened the box.
Bianca looked inside and saw a beautiful pink fox-themed dress.
The dress was a finely crafted tutu with a cute ear headband and a pair of little shoes.
Bianca fell in love with it at first sight.
Olivia laughed. "She really likes it!"
Evelyn boasted, "Of course! I had it specially designed by a famous designer. Do you want to try it on?"
Bianca nodded.
Evelyn happily helped Bianca change into the dress, with Olivia assisting.
In no time, a cute little fox appeared before them.
Evelyn was instantly charmed. "Sweetie, you're so adorable. I love you so much!"
She then showered Bianca with kisses.
Bianca, equally fond of the dress, returned a kiss.
Evelyn was overjoyed and held her tightly. "Our sweetie will be the cutest tonight!"
Bianca smiled and suddenly looked at Olivia. "Will Daddy be there?"
Olivia was slightly taken aback and didn't answer immediately.
She realized Bianca hadn't seen Michael for nearly half a month.
On such an important day, she would naturally miss him.
Olivia patted her head and answered, "Yes, we're going to see him now."
Bianca's face lit up with happiness.
That night, at the Platinum Haven Hotel, owned by the Johnson Group, the eighth-floor banquet hall was bustling.
Many guests had been invited to the party, including influential families close to the Johnsons and senior executives aware of Michael's marriage.
Everyone was dressed elegantly, chatting and laughing, creating a lively scene.
However, the atmosphere changed slightly with Olivia's arrival.
The reason was simple: Olivia was stunning.
She wore a tight purple gown that accentuated her curves, with exquisite makeup and flowing curls, making her look exceptionally beautiful.
When Olivia walked in confidently in high heels, she drew everyone's attention.
As for Bianca, in her pink dress and delicate headband, she looked like a little doll.
"Is that Mrs. Johnson?"
"I saw her at the Miller family's party. She was beautiful then, but she's even more stunning now!"
"Is that Mr. Johnson's daughter? I heard she has autism, but she looks perfectly normal!"
"She's adorable! Look at those sparkling eyes, like gems!"
"This mother and daughter are so beautiful!"
People whispered among themselves, all eyes on Olivia and Bianca.
Olivia stayed composed, her gaze fixed on Michael in the distance.
Michael, dressed in an expensive suit, stood among the guests with an air of elegance and nobility.
Beside him were Hayden, Amelia, and Chase.
They had also heard the comments and started walking over.
Olivia's expression remained indifferent, showing no intention of greeting them.
Evelyn barely contained her frustration.
She thought the Johnson family was so hypocritical!
Only Bianca, when Michael stopped, called out, "Daddy."
Michael nodded slightly, crouched down to hug her, and said, "Today is your birthday. I will celebrate it with you!"
Bianca nodded happily and tugged at her dress, hoping for Michael's praise.
Michael, not understanding her intent, quickly stood up.
Olivia frowned, her face darkening.
Evelyn was also displeased, thinking Michael's attitude was too perfunctory.
The Johnson family members, including Chase, didn't show any warmth, not even a birthday wish for Bianca.
This infuriated Evelyn.
The Johnsons were truly detestable!
At that moment, the hall was filled with melodious music, and the emcee began the opening remarks.
As the party started, Michael ignored Bianca and mingled with the guests.
"Mr. Johnson, you're so fortunate to have such a cute daughter and to host such a grand birthday party for her. It shows your dedication."
"Mr. Johnson, despite your busy schedule, you've put so much thought into this. You're truly a family man…"
Evelyn nearly exploded with anger. "Is this a business event or Bianca's birthday party?"
Did Michael even understand the point?
Olivia's expression was icy.
She saw right through Michael's intentions.
Celebrating Bianca's birthday was just an excuse.
His real goal was to project an image of a loving husband and father to win people over.
Olivia almost laughed.
She knew she shouldn't have expected anything from Michael.
If she could, she would have taken Bianca and left immediately.
But the party was already halfway through, and just as she thought of leaving, the music changed to the Happy Birthday song.
It was time to cut the cake!
Bianca, unaware of Michael's true motives, was naturally excited about cutting the cake.
She held Olivia's hand tightly, her face full of anticipation.
Despite her bad mood, Olivia didn't want to dampen Bianca's spirits. She lovingly patted her head.
Soon, the waiter brought the cake, and the emcee called out, "Now, let's invite our birthday girl, Bianca, to come forward and make a wish and cut the cake."
Bianca smiled and started to walk over.
But suddenly, two figures emerged from the crowd.
It was Sophia and Aiden!
Sophia and Aiden, dressed to the nines, approached Michael and stood strategically on his right.
Before Olivia could react, Sophia smiled and said, "Olivia, Aiden and I came especially to celebrate Bianca's birthday. I hope you don't mind. Here's a special gift I prepared for her."
Aiden, looking obedient, handed over a gift box. "I also got a present for Bianca."
Olivia wasn't surprised by Sophia and Aiden's appearance.
At such a big event, how could Michael not have his lover by his side?
It actually aligned with her purpose for coming.
Maybe there was a chance to gather evidence…
But faced with Sophia's fake kindness, she didn't hold back.
She bluntly refused, "No need. Bianca doesn't accept gifts from strangers. We're not close, so don't act so familiar."
