Chapter 38 Only Special to Her
Downstairs, Bianca was still eagerly chasing after the little puppy.
She clearly wanted to play, but the puppy wasn't having it and darted ahead, its tiny legs moving so fast they were almost a blur.
The man watched with interest for a while, then suddenly said, "Go get her for me. I think her name is... Bianca."
David raised an eyebrow, surprised. "How do you know her name?"
If he recalled correctly, their previous encounters had been pretty brief.
When they delivered the painting, he had been there too, and he hadn't heard anyone mention names.
The man spoke calmly, "I saw her name and her parents' contact info on the GPS bracelet she was wearing while I was painting her."
David nodded, understanding now. His boss was always observant, catching details like that was just his thing.
He took the order and immediately headed downstairs to bring her up.
Bianca came along with the little puppy and two assistants.
The assistants knew who he was and greeted him respectfully, "Mr. Hamilton!"
Andrew Hamilton gave a slight nod in acknowledgment but kept his eyes on Bianca.
Bianca had been a bit shy, but when she saw Andrew, her face lit up with joy. It was the man who had given her the painting!
"Nice to see you again," she said, her voice bright.
Andrew greeted her first, setting his coffee on the windowsill and waving her over. "Come here."
Though usually shy, Bianca felt an inexplicable sense of closeness to him.
Without hesitation, she walked over.
David noticed this and felt a bit frustrated. Why had it been so hard for him to call her downstairs? She had looked at him with such suspicion, like he was a bad guy!
He had to say a lot to coax her over, even though he was so friendly, and Andrew was so aloof. Most people would avoid Andrew altogether!
While he was silently complaining, Andrew's expression softened, and he gently asked Bianca, "Do you want to play with the puppy?"
Bianca nodded eagerly, her desire clear without a word.
A faint smile touched Andrew's deep eyes. "Then let me teach you."
He raised his hand slightly and made a gesture to the puppy, saying, "Come."
The puppy, which had been running around wildly, suddenly became obedient, moving to Andrew's side and even rolling over, exposing its belly for a rub.
Bianca watched in amazement, glancing from the puppy to Andrew.
Andrew crouched down and began to teach her. "This puppy has been trained and can be a bit skittish. Chasing it won't work. You can start by feeding it some treats. Do you have any snacks in your pocket?"
Bianca nodded eagerly and pulled out the snacks without hesitation.
Andrew opened the package and handed it to her. "Feed it yourself. Can you do that?"
Bianca was a bit scared but also excited.
Andrew noticed and asked gently, "I'll stay with you. Can I hold your hand?"
Bianca agreed without hesitation, extending her hand.
Andrew smiled and gently held her hand, guiding her to interact with the puppy.
The puppy, tempted by the food, quickly relaxed and came closer to sniff. Once it realized it could eat, it didn't stop.
Bianca was delighted, her eyes glued to the puppy.
After finishing a sausage, Andrew said, "Now it doesn't see you as a threat. You can try petting it here..."
Bianca hesitated, looking a bit scared.
Andrew's voice was low and gentle, encouraging her, "Don't worry. I'm right here. It won't hurt you."
Bianca tried to extend her hand but pulled back halfway, still unsure.
Andrew waited patiently, giving her time to gather her courage.
After a moment, Bianca finally took the first step. She gently extended a finger and poked the puppy's neck.
The puppy whined, seeming a bit annoyed.
Andrew chuckled softly, "You need to gently stroke it like this, and it'll be more comfortable."
He demonstrated for Bianca, showing her how to move her hand smoothly.
Bianca followed his instructions, and this time, the puppy didn't shy away, even closing its eyes in comfort.
Bianca was thrilled and immediately looked at Andrew.
Andrew praised her, "Great job! Now it trusts you. Keep interacting with it, and you'll become great friends."
He then guided her step by step, from petting its neck to rubbing its belly, to shaking hands...
After about half an hour, the puppy and Bianca were completely comfortable with each other. The puppy started chasing Bianca, trying to rub against her legs affectionately.
Bianca was overjoyed and began playing with it on the spot.
After guiding her, Andrew's handsome face returned to its usual cool demeanor. He calmly told David, "Go get my sketchbook."
David was speechless seeing Andrew switch back to his aloof self.
Seeing Andrew so warm and gentle just now, he had almost thought someone had swapped his soul.
Now he realized that wasn't the case. Andrew was just particularly kind to Bianca!
Why hadn't he noticed before that Andrew liked cute things?
Though he was grumbling inside, his hands moved quickly, and he soon brought the sketchbook.
Andrew took it and began drawing intently. This time, he sketched the scene of the puppy and Bianca playing together.
Downstairs, Olivia's treatment was going very smoothly.
Initially, Matthew had some doubts about her medical skills. After all, it seemed unbelievable that a few simple steps could cure ailments.
But as time passed and the special forces members' bodies rapidly improved, with some long-standing pains disappearing, he finally believed in her skills.
Joseph had indeed recommended a great doctor!
Matthew was full of admiration, but Olivia was growing anxious.
It had been an hour or two already, and the psychologist still hadn't shown up. Could it be... he really wasn't coming?
She felt a deep sense of disappointment but tried to comfort herself and stay calm.
Joseph had warned her that the psychologist might not show up... She couldn't let her mindset affect the treatment.
With that thought, Olivia forced herself to focus and continue her work.
Time dragged on, and about an hour later, the sound of a car engine finally reached her ears.
Olivia instinctively turned her head and saw a luxurious Rolls-Royce pass by outside.
Her spirits lifted, and she immediately stopped what she was doing, asking Matthew, "Is that him?"
Matthew noticed too and looked a bit surprised. "It's him! Did he come early? Does that mean... the treatment is over?"
Olivia panicked and almost immediately ran after the car.
She had waited so long and finally saw hope. How could she let him leave now?
