Xander's POV.
“ Sir, the Luna of the pack is the traitor!” My Beta insisted.
I stood up and my blood boiled of anger. I yelled and blew hot at him.
“ Mind your words!” I warned for the hundred times in a few minutes.
After experiencing that at the shifter festival, I began to make investigations about it. And so far, the song in the tongue of my Beta was that Sarah, the Luna of my pack: The Crescent Moon pack.
“ Alpha, I can't deny the truth. This is the mistake you have been making right from time,” His voice barked over mine.
I pulled his shirt and pinned him onto the wall. My wolf howled, daring to let loose. However, with just a push, he sent me flying high in the air and onto the wall. I fell on the floor, grunting.
“ Felipe, look at you!” He screamed as I was struggling to stand up on my feet. His eyes were contorted with tears, those he forced not to drop.
He continued, walking closer to me. “Do you remember the day I hit your sister on her butt on high school? That day I dared you, I called six of stronger Alphas with me to humiliate you and what happened?” He rolled his sleeve down to his ankle and showed me a big scar that I had gave to him during a fight. “ You did this! Alpha Felipe! You're fucking strong and powerful, all before you accept Sarah back as your mate and Luna. You rejected your mate and sold her out with your daughter and now your wolf is weak, you can't even combat with your Beta not to talk of fighting a strong Alpha like you. Tell me is this how you're going to protect the crescent Moon pack? The pack elders has called for you to fulfill the traditions and give birth to a male pup but you still couldn't.”
“ If Dax becomes the alpha of this pack then I'll rather become pack less or dead.” He added.
I sighed, my bones snapping as I finally got up on my feet. He was right. Ever since I rejected my mate, my wolf has been becoming weaker and weaker everyday.
“ Listen! I trust Sarah. She's everything but not a traitor.”
“That's where you're getting it all wrong, Alpha.”
He cleared his throat, his body trembling. “ Some years ago, I was patrolling the pack when I saw the lifeless body of the pack nurse. I did not make any silly moves as the stain of blood was still fresh on the floor. Then I saw your Luna, Sarah, with bloods in her hands as she sneaked out of the hospital. Sarah must have killed the nurse that day to hide something.”
My eyes flew up to his, jaw tightened. “ Are you serious about this? Then why have you been silent all these years?”
“ You would never listen, Felipe. Ever since the girl returned you have been hypnotized by her deceit.”
I wiped down my face with my palms and rethink about it. He was right. No motherfucker dare give me any pieces of advices when Sarah returned. To me, she was the best thing that has ever happened to me.
“ And in the period of my finding, this is what I find yesterday in the nurse's secret drawer,” He said and handed me a document.
It was the document showing that Sarah's womb have been completely ruined that she could no longer bear a child again.
My hand flew up to my chest and I didn't know when I screamed, stiffening my hands. “ I'll kill her!”
“ Please keep this, Alpha,else we won't be able to fix what has spoiled already. I have a strong feeling that Sarah killed the pack nurse so her inability to conceive would be buried forever. If she could do all these, tell me why you couldn't take her as a traitor?”
His words bore a deep hole into my heart. I took a deep sigh and hated myself for my decisions. For taking her back, for loving her over my mate; the woman that stood there all for me when things went south.
“ I'll keep this hidden and also promise not to react with it but then make sure you make more findings about it.” I said to him and he nodded his head in submission and left.
As he left, I went straight to Sarah's room. For over three Months now, She has been sleeping alone in this room. All locked and private. I have convinced her to believe that only her fingerprints was registered with the door but what she didn't know was that as the Alpha of the pack I got access to all the rooms in the pack and my fingerprints could unlock them.
I placed my thumb on the door and it made a creak sound, swinging wide open.
The first thing that hit me was the smell of mint and vinegar. I froze, disappointed. That was an abomination to the pack. Mint and vinegar was an abomination, and could also serve as poison to the pack Alpha. Why was she holding such?
My heart reeled in my chest. I hoped everything my beta said about her wasn't true, however, it has been becoming all true ever since the first moment.
I moved straight to her drawer and pulled it out. The poison was directly in the drawer. I coughed and threw up. I covered my nose with my hands and turned on the AC to minimize the smell of the poison. As I drifted back, an instinct asked me to check the drawer well. If Sarah could put a poison inside her drawer that means there are secrets she was hiding inside the drawer. And once I knew about it and took a long rod and brought out the poison. My hands danced inside the drawer as I checked for documents.
My eyes froze as I took one of the documents. A pregnancy test result, signed by the late nurse.
I opened it clearly and a positive pregnancy result slammed my face. When I turned into the content of the letter, I almost lose my sanity.
Lynn Edgar was some weeks pregnant when I sold her out to the Lycan king and possibly might have given birth to that genius baby boy at the shifter festival.
