Chapter 23 A bed with the Lycan king
Chapter 23 A bed with the Lycan king
They danced out of the room towards Amara's kitchen. I followed them, giggling at their excitement.
Amara was on her kitchen robe, serving food into crates for the pack warriors. I froze by the door and winked at her. She winked at me too.
“ Mummy, here!” Barbie brought a tray of meal. “ Pius prepared this!”
“ Oh, lovely!” I said and took the chicken carbonara, taking a bite from it.
“ Mummy, do you enjoy it?” Pius asked and I nodded, giving him a thumb up. He giggled. “ Thank you so much, Mummy!”
I kept eating the meal untill Amara was done with serving the warriors food. She walked up to me and tilted her head in disbelief as if it were a ghost that was standing in front of her.
“I thought your head would have been cut off by now.” She teased me jokingly. I smiled and gestured to her, telling her to reduce the volume of her voice.
“ Well, well, as you can see it's still fitted on me. Maybe some other day, but that day was definitely yesterday.” I chopped the last piece of the meal.
“ So, tell me about how your night went.” She stared as we took the next chair, far away from others.
I heaved my throat, ready to gossip.
“ Mummy, Do you want more?” Pius said from afar.
“ Of course, darling. Put more on the tray for Mummy to eat.” As I said, he laughed and nodded his head.
“ A lot happened in a night, Amara. I wasn't opportuned to see the masked rogue, though.” I explained.
“ So tell me the strange things that happened last night!” She inquired and I smiled at her.
“ I saw the bastard my mate left me for,” I started, throwing my hair backwards. She laughed hysterically and tapped my collarbone.
“ Tell me more!” Her eyes flipped up in gossip. One thing I knew very well about Amara apart from cooking was the ability to gossip.
I explained what I saw yesterday night from the fighting ring to the traitor whom my mate rejected me for a few years ago.
“ This is serious. That means if you and your mate are to settle things and forgive one another, the traitor would trade his pack to the rogues?”
“ Who knows if she has traded the pack to the traitors?” I added, my face contorted with anger.
“All I know is that the rogue Alphas is strong and dangerous. Nobody plays with him.” Amara said and I exhaled.
After some minutes of gossiping, I left there and headed up straight to Alexander’s room. I knew I had to meet him with some questioning. .
He was busy playing a video game with the rest of the pack members but once he saw me he stood up from the bed and walked up to me. His face was etched with a deep and bright smile.
“ So what's the meeting all about?” He asked, leading the way to a more quiet place.
“Alexander, can the masked rogue be one of our enemies here in this pack?” I needed to know if I could make a research on him.
He smiled and raised his head. “ First of all, you have nice, soft lips.”
I raised one of my brows, and wide eyed. “ What do you mean? That was all I could do to save us.”
He shrugged his shoulders. “Whatever.”
“The masked rogue could be a threat to us but sincerely he wouldn't even cross the Lycan world if not tampered with. From my observation, I can tell a more secretive person who knows more about the pack is working with the humans and rogues. There are some secrets the masked rogue doesn't know about.”
I sighed and nodded slightly. “ You're saying you just use that as a bait?”
He nodded and leaned closer. “After all, you have failed to tell me why you are hiding the name on the source code.”
I pouted my lips and raised my chin up. “ What makes you think I'm hiding somethings from you,?”
He frowned a bit and trudged his neck forward.
“ Are you really serious about what you're saying? If by now you didn't trust me, then you shouldn't trust any”
“ Fallacy! I trusted my mate for years only to get me shattered like a glass. Don't pretend as if you don't know how fragile trust is.”
“ I need to see the Lycan king!” I said and left his presence, walking into Xander's room. But as I got there, his pack members didn't permit me to come in. I froze, confused.
“ Sorry, Coder. You can't see the Lycan king now. He's way too busy. Maybe you should come back later.”
“ I need to see him now, it's urgent,” I insisted.
“ He has instructed us not to allow anyone step into this place. You have to keep whatever you wanted to tell him untill he was done.” The pack guard warned.
I heaved a deep sigh and threw my head back, resting my head on the wall.
After waiting for what seemed like hours, the door swung open and he came out with three bitches, all wearing sexy dresses.
I flinched, feeling utterly disgusted.
“ What's that you're waiting here for that you can wait?” He was on his blue towel. He lit up the smoke in his hand and dragged it.
But I didn't respond. I took my face away, not looking at him straight in the eyes.
“ Are you jealous?” He asked, smirking and I felt nauseous.
Why the hell would he say I was jealous? Well, maybe I was but that was not his to tell.
“ I-im,” I stuttered.
But he only smiled and moved closer to me. “ You seem not to sleep at all for over some days now. How will you be able to work efficiently for the pack? Your freedom is my priority. From today henceforth you'll have your bed close to mine.”
My eyes flew up as I cupped my mouth in surprise.
