“ I think we should let him know about Angelina being his greatest enemy,” Amara told me and my eyes flew up to hers. 
“ Why?” I frowned. 
“ Um, aren't you going to tell him?” 
“ Amara, that bloody traitor is dead, let him take it like that.” I stressed. 
“ Whatever! It's time for lunch, join me in the kitchen as we prepare brown rice for the pack warriors.” Amara grabbed my hand and lifted me up. She took me to meet her fellow cook. 
We prepared meals together as we threw tantrums at each other. 

The next day. 
The bright morning sun shone through the curtains, casting a beautiful mirage of the room. It was a bright morning day to begin with. 
I blinked my eyes as I adjusted my eyes to the rays of light coming in. I sat up and yawned. I stood up from the bed and stretched my body, allowing the bones to snap at both sides. This was my first night at Xander's room. His room was anything but beautiful and luxury. 
I never could have thought that someday I would sleep in a place like this but here I was. The cool air blowing within the room smoothen my skin and  ease the worries I was feeling. 
I pasted my toothbrush with mouthwash and wrapped a blue towel around my waist as I headed up to the bathroom to take my bath. I brushed my teeth and allowed the cold water to fall freely on my head as I sponged my skin. Coming out of the bathroom, I took my skincare bag and started rubbing my cream onto my body. 
Just then the Alpha of the pack entired with an alcohol in his hands. He was on his short boxers and singlet. His face was laced with nostalgic feelings, however, his eyes locked on my body.

“ Today is the pack run for all the pack members.” 
As he said I flashed back today's date. He was right. The Lycans have their pack run on the first and the last of each month. 
“ Okay, Alpha. So?” I inquired and he leaned closer. 
“ For the very first time, I'll like to go for the pack run with you.” He said and my eyes lit up. 
I couldn't contain the excitement that coursed through my body. 
“ It's my pleasure, Alpha.” 
“ Get your uniform, ready!” He said and went inside his room for preparations. 
I was so elated and stunned. I picked up my phone and called Amara. “ Hi, so, today I would be going for the pack run with the Alpha himself.” 
“ Are you serious?” She asked over the phone. 
“ Yes!” I confirmed. 
“ Finally, my friend has been taking by the Lycan king.” She teased over phone. 
I wore the pack uniform for the pack run and we all assembled on the pack field for the pack run. Once the whistle blew, I shifted into my wolf form and they shifted into their beasts and into the woods, running faster and faster. The Alpha was by my side as we ran but then something happened. 
A group of black wolves stormed out from the forests and spread across the place, attacking us. They were numerous and feral, dangerous. The most skillful wolves I have ever seen in my entire life. Despite considering the fact that the Lycans are stronger than wolves, they still overpowered us, tearing us apart. 
I shifted back into my human wolf among the fighters and just then a huge wolf approached me with his claws. I shivered and moved backwards untill a giant beast stormed into my front and slammed it with its fangs. The beast roared, protecting me. I froze, shivering on the spot. 
I had no doubt that the beast was Xander but as I looked at the side. I saw as Xander shifted back into his beast as his fellow Lycans protected him. I looked at his face and I saw nothing in it. He wasn't even bothered about me. But this particular beast kept protecting me from the people coming to harm me. 
When the beast shifted back to its human wolf it was Alexander, Xander's Beta.
