Chapter 18 The marked alpha
Chapter 18 The marked alpha
Congratulations, Alpha Xander. I must say this little boy is a gift to your pack. Protect him.”
“ Sure, we will. Thank you, professor for your support.” Xander said and took in the professor’s hand.
The professor said and hugged Pius. He deep his hand into his pocket and brought out a pen handing it over to Pius.
“ This was a gift I received some years ago as one of the best professors in nanotechnology. I'm giving it to you and I hope someday he will grow to give it out to someone else.” The professor said and smiled deeply before he left.
He curled his little hands around his legs and peeked up at him. “ Frowning Daddy, I make you proud, isn't it?”
Looking down at him, he nodded his head slightly in agreement to what he just said.
“ Your son is a rare gem, Lynn.” He said to me, a hint of smile layering beneath.
“ Yes, Alpha!” I said. Amara and Barbie walked up to us from behind, their face lit up with joy. Barbie went straight to Pius and held his hand, both looked so perfect. Perfect siblings!
“ Thanks for everything, Daddy!” Barbie faced Xander and appreciated. He squinted his brows and pushed his head up slightly in response. Barbie had always been carried away by the rumors she heard about Xander being a devil and all that. But what she failed to understand was that even though he bears that name he still has an iota of humanity inside of him.
My Ex husband, Felipe, whom I had thought to be an angel was the one who threw my life into mess after such a huge humiliation. At the end, whatever people call you doesn't matter, it's your actions that best describes you. Xander could be cold and lethal but at the same time he was the best father for my children.
“ You're always welcomed, my model.” Xander said with a soft, tender voice.
Alexander walked up to us from behind with a sigh. “ It's time we start going home. The Lycans are waiting for you in the chamber.”
We entered the car and they returned us back to the pack. As we stepped out of the car, Alexander whispered to my ears.
“Lynn, the Lycan Alphas are here again. You must provide the name of the source else you'll be deemed unfit.”
I felt a pang of worry coursed through through my veins. I breathed. “ So why are you telling me this?”
“ So that you can reconsider my offer. Tell me now so I can help you.”
My lips pursed in thoight untill the Amara signalled for me and I grabbed Pius hand taking him to his room. The Alpha in the other hand was walking into the Lycan room.
“ You need some rest, Lynn. It's been a long day already.” Amara said as she slid away a strand of hair on my forehead.
“ Amara, I know. But I can't rest now. My life. The life of my children is at stake here, I need to constantly be in the computer room.” I stressed.
She heaved a sigh and leaned into me closer, that nobody would hear whatever she was about to say.
“ What about Angelina? What are you going to say about her?” She asked, her eyes filled me concern.
I exhaled and raised my hand to my jaw in thought. “Simple! I would just have let them know that she's the coder.”
Amara’s eyes opened. “Do you know what you're saying at all? Your freedom will be tampered with and I'm scared for you.”
I placed comforting hands on his shoulders. “See, Amara. I have no choice here. I have to do what needed to be done then face whatever comes my way.”
“ Are you sure about this?” Her voice trembled.
“ Of course. I will definitely know how to handle Xander. Collaborating with other top figures would help me attain this. With this, he wouldn't be able to protect her. I mean, let the motherfucker go rot in hell.”
She flinched backwards. “ You seem to be so jealous right now!”
I frowned at her words, and threw my head sideways. “ What do you mean by that, Amara?”
Despite the frown I wore, a petty smile still tugged on her face. “ Tell me you don't have a crush on Xander?”
“ Um, don't even go there,” I was explaining but she wouldn't stop giving me this playful look, like I was deceiving myself.
“ Amara, can you just believe me once and for all?” I pushed her playfully and she bounced back, laughing.
“ Anyways, coder. There's absolutely nothing wrong in falling in love with the Alpha but just remember what I have told you. His mate, Angelina, if she's still alive as you claimed holds his heart. Don't play some silly love games. All you should have in mind right now is how to leave this place with your children.”
“ Thank you for the unnecessary advice, chef Amara,” I rolled my eyes at her and walked towards the computer room. I was just a step to turn the doorknob when she said,” I'll be with Pius and Barbie in the kitchen!”
“ Whatever!” I locked the door and headed straight to my chair. I sat down on it and opened the computer, typing into it.
After some minutes, the door spun opened, and Xander walked in, his eyes cold and unfriendly.
“The Lycan Alphas are here again for the name of the source. The person knows much about the Lycans, and that's a serious threat to the Lycan territory.”
I swallowed and lit up my eyes as he was worried. My lips trembled as I was about to tell him that the truth about the source but at the same time, my heart shredded.
He chipped in. “ Have you been able to find the name on the source code?”
I raised my head up to meet his and was about to tell him when the door burst open. “ Alpha, take a look at this.”
Alexander walked in and swiped a document to him. He picked the document on the table and glanced at it.
“ The masked Alpha.”
The name was boldly visible on the document. He flinched and shot him a glance.
“ Yes, Alpha. The Masked Alpha could be the person leaking out out information to the rogues and humans.”
