Chapter 19 Who’s the masked rogue
Chapter 19 Who’s the masked rogue
I froze and got stunned by the flipped script.
The masked Alpha? Who the hell was he?
Angrily, Xander, held the document so tight in his hands and strode out of the room, pacing faster to his fellow Lycans
Alexander fixed his hands behind his back, and a nostalgic smile curved on his face. He took a quick glance at the door to check if the Alpha was far gone and then leaned closer.
“ Saved?” He inquired.
My lips drew into a thin line. “Who is the masked Alpha?”
He chuckled and grabbed my chin, pulling me closer. “You should be grateful I made your incompetence or rather secret covered.”
I breathed hot into his skin and hissed at him. “ What do you want?”
“ We can start with a thank you,” He said and dropped my chin.
I took a deep sigh. Truly, he had saved me. If not for his interventions I would have informed the Lycan about Angelina, but luckily he came at the right time. That was the first time his presence made sense.
“ Thank you.” I said in a single tone.
He chuckled and took a reverse, smiling. “Alright, meet me at this location at night.”
He threw a card at me and walked away. I picked the card on the floor and skimmed at the location that was boldly inscribed on it.
I sighed and facepalmed. What was the essence of our meeting?
I left the office and strode up to Amara's room. Closer to the room was the sound of music blaring through the room and a familiar noise. I froze at the front of the door only to see Barbie rehearsing her model walks while Pius took a video coverage of him. Amara on the other side pretended to be the audiences as she clapped her hands and hailed her. A petty smile tucked on the corner of my lips. They looked so happy. A happy family I have always wanted.
Barbie would be a good model. Back then in her lower model classes she used to be the best model. She is tall, has those blue eyes, and beautiful. Her smiles too was way too alluring, one that could sweep you off your feet.
I raised my knuckles and was about to knock on the door but I didn't want to ruin this beautiful moment. I froze at the front of the door and shut my eyes closed.
“ Lynn!” Amara's voice called for my attention and I flung my eyes opened to see her walking up to me.
“ Any problem?” She asked, shutting the door.
“ Amara, tell me about the masked rogue Alpha.”
Her eyes glowed as I spoke. She wore this strange feeling like: how did I got to know about the name.
She grabbed my hand and led me to a quiet place.
“ Lynn, the masked rogue isn't the purpose you're here. Whosoever gave you the advice of the masked rogue isn't wishing any good.” She stressed, moving closer.
My body tensed and I could feel my blood pressure shoot up. “Alexander brought up the name to save me from calling Angelina’s name.”
She smiled, and nodded in disagreement. “ You shouldn't know the masked Alpha.”
I flinched and dropped her hands off my body.
“ Why not? I want to know about the masked rogue. Please!” I pleaded.
She took her face away and I turned it back to myself. “Please let me know about it, please.”
“ Since that's what you wanted I'll tell you about him.” She assured and took me to her room. She shut the door, and we both sat down. I pushed further into her, couldn't wait to hear what was so special about the name.
“ He was an outcast of a werewolf pack,” She began and dragged a long breath. “ Some years ago, he came to the Lycan world to seek solace against his brother who was competing with him against the Alpha position. The Alpha position actually belongs to him, not his brother. Xander promised to help him win the Alpha's position, but somethings came up during those times that tore the relationship between him and the Lycan world.”
She paused, her eyes fidgeted on a spot.
I heaved a deep sigh. “ So tell me what exactly makes the name so special.”
She smiled. “ He's dangerous and fierce. He has won the hearts of battalion warriors but in the human world and in the werewolf territory. If he starts a battle against the Lycan I doubt if we win because he already knows the in and out of our pack.”
I held her hands and her eyes fixed into mine. “Why is Alexander bringing his name at this point?”
“ Simple!” She started. “ As a bait. The masked rogue could be the best suspect when it comes to the source code name, but there will be greater problems lurking if the masked rogue finds out he was being used as a bait.”
I heaved a deep sigh and dropping my body in frustrations.
“Don't assure the Lycan of the masked rogue being the suspect. Be neutral and make them too. I think the main purpose of this is to divert the attention of the Lycan king.”
“ Yes, Amara. I hope this works.”
“ But wait a minute,” She gulped a cup of water and exhaled peacefully. “Why is Alexander helping you?”
I dipped my hand into my purse and brought out the card he had thrown to me. “ He threw me this.”
She snatched it and took a look at it. “ He wants you to meet him in this place?”
“ Yes!” I said.
“ What if the alpha finds out you're not in your room at night?” She inquired, squeezing her face.
“ I-i,” I stammered for words but nothing came. I flipped the back of my hand to the air. “ He won't know. I'm locking the door from the inside. He won't break the door to my room. I'm very sure of that.”
“ If you say so,” Her hand wrapped around the back of my neck, soothing and comforting. “ Be very careful out there!”
