Chapter 99

Chapter 99
Donald pushed Jayden away from me, his movements swift and decisive. He blocked me, using himself as a shield to protect me from Jayden's wrath. I felt a surge of gratitude towards Donald, mixed with a sense of relief. Jayden's eyes flashed with anger, and he clenched his palms into fists, gritting his teeth in frustration.

His eyes were filled with fury, and his nostrils flared as he took each step towards us. The air seemed to vibrate with his anger, and I could feel the tension building between the two men. Jayden's face was twisted in a snarl, and his voice was low and menacing.

"I want to speak with the lady, leave us alone!!" Jayden roared, his voice echoing through the room. But Donald stood firm, his eyes locked on Jayden's.

"I said no!!!!" Donald barked back at Jayden, his voice firm and unyielding. "You are not allowed to speak with her." His words were like a challenge, and Jayden's eyes flashed with anger.

Donald grasped my hand and pulled me away, but I stopped moving and turned back slowly. My gaze fell on Jayden's tight grip on my hand, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. Jayden's eyes met mine, and I saw a glimmer of sincerity there.

"I'm not letting you go again," Jayden said to me, his voice low and husky. His words sent a shiver down my spine, and I felt a mix of emotions: fear, anger, and a hint of sadness.

"Let go," I mouthed, my voice barely audible. Donald turned back, noticing Jayden's hold on me, and immediately broke off Jayden's grip. He grasped my hand firmly and dragged me along, with Jayden following us with slow strides, unknown to us.

As we walked away, I could feel Jayden's eyes on me, burning with intensity. I shivered, despite myself, and leaned closer to Donald. His presence was a comfort, a shield against Jayden's wrath. But I knew Jayden wasn't going to give up easily. He wanted something from me, and he was willing to fight for it.

I glanced back, my eyes meeting Jayden's. He looked like a man possessed, his eyes blazing with determination. I felt a surge of fear mixed with anxiety, and I knew I had to get away from him.

Donald pulled me along, his grip on my hand firm but gentle. I followed him, my heart pounding in my chest. I knew I was safe with Donald, but I couldn't shake off the feeling that Jayden was going to catch up with us.

As we turned a corner, I lost sight of Jayden. But I knew he was still there, watching us.

I stopped walking as I noticed my phone ring. I reached down to my bag and pulled my phone out, a smile spreading across my face as I saw Joshua's name on the screen. I picked up immediately and followed Donald to the car, trying to keep my voice light and cheerful.

"Sorry sweetie, mum was in a hurry. Don't worry, I'll get you something nice. Not pizza again," I said, trying to placate my son's likely tantrum.

As I talked to Joshua, Donald glanced at me with a hint of amusement in his eyes. "What is it?" he asked, once I paused to listen to Joshua's response.

I put the phone away, mouthing "Joshua" to Donald, and continued walking towards the car. Donald's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled, and he reached out to open the car door for me.

As I got into the car, I couldn't help but laugh at Joshua's antics. "Fine. I'll do it. Goodness, your dad did spoil your little ass," I said, rolling my eyes.

Donald chuckled and shot back, "Why? Are you jealous? You're jealous that I'm our son's favourite?"

I pouted, trying to look offended. "Please. I'm not scared. He loves me." But Donald just laughed and teased me some more.

"I'm jealous. You spoil him. I'm not letting that happen. Time to be strict on him," he said, his voice firm but his eyes twinkling with amusement.

I raised an eyebrow, trying to look stern. "Isn't our son too cute to be strict on? Let's leave him enjoy life while it lasts." Donald smiled and nodded, getting into the car.

"Yes boss! I chuckled.

As we drove off, I glanced back and saw Jayden standing frozen, his eyes fixed on us with a look of shock and anger. I felt a surge of satisfaction, knowing that he had overheard our conversation.

Donald and I chatted about our plans for the day, including picking up groceries for Tricia. "Right! Tricia sent a grocery list. We need to pick a few things from the supermarket," I said, glancing at Donald

"Cool. Donald said. "It will be fun"

"Fun it will be," I replied, smiling. Donald chuckled and said, "Aye aye captain." We both laughed, and the tension from the earlier encounter with Jayden began to dissipate.

As we drove away, Jayden's face twisted in anger and frustration. "Son? I must have misheard because there's no way...no! I need to find out about those two. Could it be that Monalisa remarried? No. I'll have to find out. I won't lose like a fool!!!" he roared to himself, scanning the environment before heading back inside, his mind racing with questions and suspicions.

We finished up with the grocery shopping and left to get the pizza and ice cream for Joshua.

After which, we drove home.

Joshua ran to us and grabbed the pizza and ice cream and ran back inside.

We all laughed.

Tricia joine us and helped us carry the groceries inside.

We placed them in the pantry sorting them out carefully.

"I already made breakfast" Tricia informed us.

That's so Lovely of you Bess"

"Thank you Tricia. I'm so hungry. This morning was a wild morning " Donald said taking off his jacket

"What happened? Tell me? Tricia asked, her eyes filled with curiosity.

"Jayden happened today I replied.

"What!!! Jayden!?! Tricia yelled. "What the fuck was he doing there?

"I don't know"

"Jayden was there? No. this isn't a good sign bess. it's definitely not a good sign. I'm so worried about you and Joshua...I am"

my heart skipped a beat at Tricia's words.

Do I have to be scared?
