Deanna listened to Lance recounting Amy's rebellious stories from her youth, feeling nothing but surprise. To her, Amy was always noble, elegant, and a fashion leader. She never imagined that Amy had such... interesting experiences in her younger days.
As they spoke, the carriage stopped in front of a house built in a palace-like style, with exquisite reliefs on the outer walls. When Deanna helped Lance out of the carriage, Amy came out to greet them.
"Deanna," she called warmly, walking directly to Deanna's side and pushing Lance aside. Deanna didn't notice her small action and greeted Amy happily, "Auntie, long time no see. You look even more beautiful."
"You sweet talker." Amy was delighted by Deanna's flattery. She took Deanna's hand and said with a smile, "Come, I will show you your wedding dress. If there's anything you don't like, tell me and I'll fix it for you."
"A wedding dress made by you will surely be perfect," Deanna said, continuing to flatter her. Amy felt very pleased hearing this. The two of them chatted and laughed as they entered the living room, completely forgetting about Lance behind them.
Watching the two women walk away, Lance raised an eyebrow and showed a helpless expression before following them inside. However, once he entered the living room, he didn't see his fiancee or his aunt. Just as he was about to ask someone, a maid approached him respectfully.
"Mr. Mercer, Madam said you should go directly to the studio on the second floor to find them."
"I see," Lance nodded and headed upstairs.
On the second floor, Deanna was already in the studio with Amy. She was immediately captivated by the array of gorgeous dresses around her. After all, no woman could resist beautiful dresses.
Amy noticed the amazement on Deanna's face and said proudly, "What do you think? Aren't these dresses beautiful?"
"Very beautiful. Did you design all of these? You're amazing, Auntie," Deanna praised sincerely.
Amy smiled and said, "Not only did I design them, but I also made them myself. These are my works for the top designer qualification show later this year!"
"I'll definitely come to support you then!" Deanna said supportively.
Amy nodded with a smile, "Sure, I'll reserve a ticket for you. Now let's go see your wedding dress." She then led Deanna to the left.
They stopped in front of a curtain. The next moment, as Amy pulled it open, a pure white off-shoulder wedding dress appeared before Deanna. The dress was displayed on a mannequin; its bodice was trimmed with lace forming a floral pattern, and the waist was adorned with tiny diamonds that sparkled under the light. The skirt was fluffy with layers of lace embroidered with silver patterns, giving it an ethereal look.
Deanna was stunned by its beauty. Seeing her reaction, Amy felt very proud. If this wedding dress hadn't been designed for Deanna's wedding, she would have kept it for her show as the finale piece.
"Try it on and see if there's anything that needs adjusting," Amy gently pushed Deanna.
Deanna nodded and walked towards the dress.
When Lance entered the room, he saw only Amy and asked, "Where's Deanna?"
"I sent her to change into the wedding dress," Amy replied with a smile and teased her nephew, "Don't be too stunned when you see her."
Lance noticed the teasing look in her eyes but only smiled without saying anything. He then sat on the sofa next to Amy and waited for Deanna to come out.
Almost an hour later, the curtain that had been drawn closed slowly opened from inside. Accompanied by Amy's assistant, Deanna emerged holding up her skirt.
As she appeared, both Amy and Lance held their breath. She looked absolutely stunning. Not only had Deanna changed into the wedding dress, but she also had her makeup done. Her natural beauty was already impressive, but with the exquisite wedding dress and flawless makeup, she looked like a fairy descending to earth.
This was why Amy and Lance held their breath; they feared that even their breathing might disturb this breathtaking vision.
Seeing them staring at her in awe made Deanna chuckle softly. She lifted her skirt and twirled playfully in front of Lance, asking with a bright smile, "Do I look good?"
"You look beautiful, absolutely beautiful," Lance replied instinctively, still in a daze.
It was the first time Amy had seen her nephew so dumbfounded, and she couldn't help but laugh out loud.
