Chapter 660: Investigate Thoroughly

The next morning, Deanna woke up early. Although her complexion was still a bit off, her spirits were high.

Seeing this, Lance said with concern, "Why not rest at home today?"

"No, there are still many things at the company that need handling. If I don't go, it will seem like I'm afraid of the person behind all this. I need to go to the company and draw them out," Deanna replied, her expression turning resolute.

She was determined to catch the mastermind.

Seeing Deanna's determined look, Lance didn't persuade her further. However, he reminded her, "If anything happens, let me know immediately, okay?"

"I know," Deanna nodded.

The two then got up, washed up, and went downstairs for breakfast.

During the meal, the two little ones and Old Ashley were very concerned about Deanna's health.

"Mommy, are you feeling better today?"

"I think you should rest at home if you're not feeling well," Old Ashley suggested.

Listening to their concerns, Deanna felt very happy and smiled, "I'm fine now, don't worry."

Seeing that Deanna's spirits were good despite her pale complexion, Old Ashley didn't say more.

After breakfast, Deanna and Lance took the two little ones to school. Later, Lance dropped Deanna off at the company.

After a brief goodbye, Deanna entered the company with Shannon and Leighton following closely behind.

Seeing them, Deanna asked about yesterday's incident. "Did you find out who sent that package?"

"We did. It was sent by a man named Ricky, but he was paid by someone else to send it," Shannon reported.

Deanna's face darkened upon hearing this. Just as she was about to say something, the elevator doors opened and her assistant stood outside. She asked in confusion, "What are you doing here?"

"Miss Jones, Mr. Mercer contacted me last night and asked me to move your office to another side. I forgot to inform you, so I'm here to take you to the new office and see if any adjustments are needed," the assistant explained.

Deanna remembered that the dead cat had been found in her office yesterday. She hadn't expected Lance to think of this detail, which made her feel even more touched.

Soon, they arrived at the new office, which was almost an exact replica of the previous one.

"There's nothing to change. You can go back to work," Deanna said after a satisfied look around.

This assistant had been trained by Xavier and was intended to be his right-hand man to help with some work. However, due to a shortage of staff on Missus's side, he was assigned here.

Perhaps due to yesterday's incident, Shannon and Leighton checked everything Deanna received today.

Deanna understood their concern and didn't say anything.

Fortunately, nothing happened throughout the day. The only unexpected event was that Lance, who had promised to pick Deanna up, was delayed by something urgent.

"It's okay. You go ahead with your work. I have Shannon and Leighton with me; I'll be fine," Deanna said into the phone with a smile.

"Send me a message when you get home. I'll try to come back early tonight," Lance said gently.

"Okay," Deanna replied before hanging up the phone.

She put away her phone and called Shannon and Leighton to go downstairs.

Soon, they reached the garage. Leighton, who rarely spoke but was very diligent, walked ahead to open the car door for Deanna.

However, as soon as the door opened, she saw something that made her face turn pale. "Missus, don't come over!" she exclaimed.

But it was too late; Deanna had already walked up behind her and saw the scene inside the car.

Deanna screamed and fainted at the bloody sight before her.

Shannon reacted quickly and caught Deanna as she collapsed. She also saw the scene inside the car and was shocked.

The back of the car was covered in blood and blood-stained fur. On the seat lay a dead cat with its head separated from its body-a gruesome sight that understandably scared Deanna into fainting.

"You stay here and contact Mr. Mercer. I'll take Missus to the lounge upstairs," Shannon instructed calmly after regaining her composure.

Leighton nodded and took out her phone to call Lance.

Shannon didn't waste any time and carried Deanna back to the office.

Not long after she left, Lance arrived with a stern look on his face.

Leighton hadn't disturbed the scene, so when Lance arrived, he saw the situation inside the car and his eyes filled with fury.

"Investigate this thoroughly. I don't care what methods you use; I want to know who is behind this within three days!"
