Chapter 570: What Happened Later

"It's my fault, knowing that Leticia had ill intentions, yet I thought being at home, nothing would happen, so I wasn't very guarded against her," Deanna said with a look of regret on her face.

Seeing this, Lance quickly reassured her, "You can't blame yourself for this; after all, you didn't expect that woman to be so bold as to attack you in your own home."

Despite his words, Deanna's complexion was still not good.

She pursed her lips and said, "I really don't understand what Leticia was thinking."

Pausing for a moment as if something occurred to her, she suddenly looked anxious and asked, "By the way, what happened to Leticia after I fainted? I remember Gregory and Chloe appeared in the hallway on the second floor when I passed out. They weren't frightened, were they?"

"Rest assured, I've had that woman arrested and taken to the police station. As for Gregory and Chloe, Gregory suffered some external injuries, but nothing serious," Lance explained without concealing the truth about Gregory's injuries.

Hearing that Gregory was hurt, Deanna immediately became worried, "How did Gregory get injured? Is it serious?"

"Gregory saw you being bullied by that woman and bit her, then she kicked him. But the doctor said it didn't hit any organs, it just looks worse because of the bruising," Lance summarized what happened after Deanna fainted.

After hearing everything, anger was evident on Deanna's face.

"Leticia is truly malicious; I will not let her off easily this time," she said, and then couldn't help but express her relief, "Thank goodness Grandma went to a friend's house last night, otherwise it would have scared her terribly."

Now that grandmother was old, she really couldn't handle such shocks.

Watching the angry young woman, Lance tightly held her hand in silent comfort.

Meanwhile, in the presidential suite of the hotel, Hassan was woken up by a phone call.

"Mr. Walsh, I've found out what you asked me to look into. Miss Jones is in a private hospital under the Mercer Group; she's alright."

"Thank you for the information," Hassan politely responded before hanging up.

He glanced at the time on his phone screen, wiped his face, and got out of bed.

After getting ready quickly, he went to Old Walsh's room and knocked, "Grandfather, are you awake? I've found out about Miss Jones."

"Give me a moment," Old Walsh's voice came from inside the room.

A few minutes later, the grandfather and grandson sat in the living room.

Hassan took the initiative to say, "Miss Jones is currently in a private hospital under the Mercer Group; Mr. Mercer is probably with her."

"How is she?" Old Walsh asked.

"She's fine overall, just some severe wounds," Hassan replied.

Hearing this, Old Walsh's expression grew solemn.

Seeing his grandfather silent, Hassan couldn't guess his thoughts and tentatively asked, "Should we inform uncle and aunt about this?"

"There's no need for that; I contacted them last night and had them bring over the collection from my safe. Once they arrive, we'll go to the hospital. No matter what, we have to settle this matter privately," Old Walsh said sternly.

Hassan wanted to say that it might be difficult but seeing his grandfather's expression, he simply nodded and sat quietly beside him.

Around nine o'clock, Mr. and Mrs. Walsh finally arrived at the hotel.

Mrs. Walsh looked extremely uneasy upon seeing Old Walsh.

Ernest was also a bit scared but took the initiative to say, "Dad, here are the items you asked for."

As he spoke, he placed a brocade box in front of Old Walsh.

Old Walsh didn't even glance at it; his gaze fell on Mrs. Walsh.

"Did you tell your wife about what I discussed with you last night?"

"I did. Don't worry; once Leticia is released, I'll personally send her overseas!" Ernest quickly replied then looked at Old Walsh with a forced smile.

Old Walsh snorted lightly and finally said nothing more; he turned to Hassan and ordered, "Take the items and let's go to the hospital."

"Yes," Hassan nodded, picked up the brocade box from the coffee table, and followed Old Walsh out of the room.

Mr. and Mrs. Walsh hurriedly followed them.

Ten minutes later, they arrived at the private hospital and found Deanna's room.

At that moment, Deanna had just finished breakfast under Lance's care.

They heard someone knocking and without much thought allowed them in.

Only when they saw it was the Walsh family did their expressions immediately turn cold.

Lance spoke unwelcomingly, "What are you doing here?"

"We came to see Dr. Deanna," Old Walsh said with a lowered stance and a conciliatory smile.

His gaze fell on Deanna lying in the hospital bed, his heart sinking slightly.

The reason was simple; Deanna's injuries were more severe than he had imagined.

Even so, he could only brace himself and asked with concern, "Dr. Deanna, are you feeling better today?"

"Do I look like I'm feeling better?" Deanna responded coldly.

It wasn't her intention to take her anger out on others; having been targeted for murder twice in a row would test even a saint's patience.
