After hearing the doctor's words, Lance tensed up and said solemnly, "I understand, I will be careful."
The doctor nodded and then instructed the nurse to take Deanna to the ward.
Meanwhile, Old Walsh and Hassan received a notification from the police and hurried to the police station.
"Officer, we are relatives of Leticia. We don't know what my cousin has done to be detained here," Hassan said, approaching an officer at Old Walsh's gesture.
The officer looked them over and said coldly, "Your cousin is charged with attempted murder."
"How can it be attempted murder?" Hassan exclaimed, turning his head to look at Old Walsh in shock.
Old Walsh approached with a stern face.
Before he could ask anything, a scoff came from nearby followed by a mocking voice, "Why not? Your dear cousin first deceived our family's Master Gregory and Miss Chloe, then attacked our missus who is now in the hospital fighting for her life!"
After finishing his statement, Sam stood up from a nearby chair, glaring ominously at Old Walsh and Hassan.
Seeing him, Old Walsh and Hassan felt unfamiliar.
"Who are you?" Hassan asked politely.
"I am the butler of the Mercer family," Sam replied coldly.
Upon hearing this, Old Walsh and Hassan's expressions darkened dramatically.
They now understood that while they thought Leticia had settled down, she had been causing trouble behind their backs.
Sam noticed their change in expression but continued without care, "Mr. Mercer asked me to convey a message to you both. He intends to pursue this matter to the end."
With those words, Sam turned and left.
Seeing this, Old Walsh and Hassan felt extreme annoyance towards Leticia.
"I should have insisted on sending her away when Leticia came over that day," Old Walsh expressed regretfully.
Hassan pursed his lips, remaining silent.
Just then, a police officer approached them and said indifferently, "You can see Leticia now. Follow me."
Hearing this, Old Walsh and Hassan immediately followed the officer.
Soon, they saw Leticia in the visitation room.
Upon seeing them, Leticia cried out desperately, "Grandfather, cousin, save me. I don't want to go to jail."
"Why did you provoke Deanna if you didn't want to go to jail?!" Old Walsh questioned sternly, banging his cane on the ground.
Hassan's expression was also grim as he asked coldly, "Leticia, do you want to ruin the entire Walsh family?"
Facing their rebuke, Leticia felt guilty, scared, and annoyed.
If only they had fought for her happiness, she wouldn't have needed to scheme.
Of course, she dared not voice these thoughts.
She still hoped they would get her out of the police station.
Thinking quickly, she defended herself, "I didn't provoke Deanna. Grandfather, cousin, you must believe me."
However, Old Walsh and Hassan did not believe her words.
Old Walsh lifted his eyelids and asked in an even tone, "You say you didn't provoke Dr. Deanna. Then explain why you were at Dr. Deanna's house?"
"I went there to see Dr. Deanna," Leticia replied evasively.
Old Walsh stared at her with a severe expression and continued, "Even if you went to see Dr. Deanna, why did it come to blows? I heard you not only scratched Dr. Deanna's face but also knocked her down and even attacked her two children."
As he spoke, cold sweat formed on Leticia's forehead.
She stammered for a long time but couldn't find an excuse to defend herself. She finally said desperately, "It wasn't intentional. I was just so angry that I lost my senses... Grandfather, I know I was wrong. Please save me. I really don't want to go to jail. If the media finds out about my offense, it will affect our family's company too."
Unbeknownst to her, this statement infuriated Old Walsh even more.
"What? If I don't save you, are you threatening me?" Old Walsh narrowed his eyes and looked at her coldly.
Leticia shivered under his gaze and shook her head repeatedly, "No, I didn't mean to threaten you. I'm just worried about our family company."
"If you were really worried about the family company, you wouldn't have done these things! It seems you're just afraid we won't save you!" Hassan ruthlessly exposed Leticia.
Leticia's eyes flashed with annoyance as she replied with a hurt expression, "Cousin, I really didn't mean that."
"You know what you meant," Hassan said dismissively and walked out of the visitation room.
Leticia didn't care much about Hassan leaving; she even preferred it.
She gripped the iron bars in front of her and pleaded pitifully with Old Walsh, "Grandfather, you must save me."
Old Walsh looked at her deeply but did not commit to saving her.
"Reflect on your actions while you're in here."
With those words, Old Walsh also turned and left.
Seeing this, Leticia became anxious and shouted repeatedly, "Grandfather, I know I was wrong. Help me once more."
"Grandfather..."
"Stop shouting; he's already gone!"
A prison guard walked in from outside and warned Leticia with a stern look.
