Deanna had already seen Leticia's move, but she was unable to dodge in time.
Ultimately, she was struck squarely by Leticia's kick, sending her reeling backward.
She then felt herself crash into something, a severe pain erupting at the back of her head, darkness clouding her vision as she passed out.
The two little ones ran downstairs just in time to witness the scene, crying out in panic, "Mommy-"
"Villain, how dare you hit my mommy, I'll bite you to death!"
With eyes reddened by anger, Gregory rushed to Leticia, grabbed her hand, and bit down hard.
Leticia screamed in pain, shaking her hand trying to throw him off.
No matter how hard she tried, Gregory clung fiercely to her wrist.
"Damn bastard, let go of me!"
Leticia's face twisted in pain.
Seeing Gregory still wouldn't let go, she angrily kicked again.
When Lance returned, he saw this scene, his eyes splitting with rage, he roared, "Leticia, how dare you!"
At his words, Leticia, who had been checking the injuries, shuddered all over.
She looked up in shock to see Lance quickly moving to Gregory's side and embracing him.
"Are you hurt anywhere?"
Lance anxiously checked Gregory's body.
Seeing him, Gregory's eyes welled up, "Daddy, she kicked my stomach, it hurts so much!"
Then Chloe also ran over, crying out loud.
"Daddy, you're finally back. This bad woman bullied mommy, scratched her face and knocked her down."
Hearing this, a tangible fury built up in Lance.
Holding Gregory, he scanned the surroundings but didn't see Deanna. His brow furrowed with worry as he asked urgently, "Where's your mommy?"
"Mommy is over there."
Chloe pointed in a direction.
Following her direction, Lance saw Deanna lying in a pool of blood, his pupils shrinking sharply.
"Deanna!"
He rushed over and picked Deanna up from the ground, calling out anxiously.
But Deanna's eyes were tightly shut, unresponsive.
Panicked, Lance scooped her up horizontally and shouted, "Xavier, drive to the hospital!"
"Yes!"
Xavier responded immediately and hurried ahead to drive the car.
The little ones followed quickly.
For a moment, the living room was left with only Leticia.
Seeing everyone concerned about Deanna, Leticia tiptoed, planning to leave.
But after just a few steps, Sam blocked her path with a stern face, "Where do you think you're going?"
"What do you want?" Leticia looked at Sam warily.
Sam gave her a cold smile, "Did you think you could just walk away after attacking our missus? Someone grab her!"
Meanwhile, Xavier sped the car to its limits and with the help of traffic police, they reached the hospital in less than ten minutes.
The hospital had already been alerted and had staff waiting at the entrance.
As they saw Lance carrying Deanna out of the car, they immediately wheeled over a stretcher.
Minutes later, Deanna was rushed into the emergency room.
Lance stood in the corridor covered in blood.
Beside him were the two little ones also looking scared and worried.
Especially Chloe, her eyes red as she couldn't hold back her tears any longer.
"It's all my fault. If I hadn't believed that bad woman's words and brought her home, mommy wouldn't have been hurt. It's all my fault..."
"Don't cry; it's not your fault. It's that bad woman's fault!" Gregory quickly embraced his sister to comfort her.
Lance then came back to his senses.
He turned to see the two little ones huddled together and felt a pang of heartache. He walked over and embraced them both, soothingly saying, "Don't cry; it's not your fault."
Hearing this, the little ones looked up.
"Daddy, mommy won't be hurt, right?"
"Of course not. Daddy won't let anything happen to your mommy."
Lance reassured them as they nodded and leaned into his embrace.
At that moment, Xavier approached with something to say.
Lance noticed and squinted, "Speak directly."
Xavier nodded and reported honestly: "Sam called asking how to deal with Leticia?"
"Send her directly to the police station for attempted murder!"
Lance spoke with a deadly seriousness.
As he finished speaking, the emergency room doors burst open. The doctor and nurses wheeled out an unconscious Deanna.
"Doctor, how is my fiancée?"
Lance hurried over.
The little ones followed closely behind, their voices anxious: "Doctor, is our mommy okay?"
Facing their concerned gazes, the doctor slowly said: "The patient is mostly fine. There's a mild concussion; she needs to rest for a couple of days. The wound on the back of her head has been treated. The cuts on her face have been medicated too but be careful with those as they might scar."
