In the blink of an eye, the weekend arrived.
Early in the morning, Logan and Samantha came to Hilltop Manor.
At this time, Deanna and Lance were already up and ready to go.
The two little ones saw them and happily greeted them.
"Gramp, Grannie, good morning."
"Good morning," Logan and Samantha responded with loving smiles.
Deanna and Lance also greeted them.
Of course, Logan and Samantha noticed Old Ashley sitting in the living room and greeted him as well.
"Old Ashley, would you like to join us for some fun?"
"My old bones can't walk much; you young folks go ahead and enjoy yourselves," Old Ashley declined with a cheerful smile.
Logan and Samantha didn't insist.
After some small talk, they called for the two little ones along with Deanna and Lance to set off.
On the way, the two little ones sat beside Logan and Samantha, curiously asking, "Grannie, where are we going to play?"
"I heard you and Chloe like Legos. There's a Lego exhibition today, and we bought tickets for it. Let's go check it out together," Samantha said, unable to resist pinching Gregory's cute little face.
Chloe and Gregory's eyes lit up immediately upon hearing this.
"Grannie, will there be many experts at the Lego exhibition?" Gregory asked eagerly.
Samantha smiled and nodded, "There should be."
Hearing this, the little guy grinned from ear to ear.
Deanna and Lance were unaware of what was happening on the other side.
Since one car couldn't fit six people, they split into two cars.
Deanna and Lance took one car, while the two little ones rode with Logan and Samantha in another.
Watching the scenery pass by outside the window, Deanna snuggled against Lance and asked curiously, "Do you know where we're going today?"
"My mother didn't tell me, but it should be somewhere the kids will like," Lance replied, glancing down at the woman in his arms.
Today, Deanna wore light makeup. After all, she was going out with Logan and Samantha and didn't want to ruin the good impression she had worked hard to build. Her already beautiful features were even more stunning with careful grooming.
Lance's heart skipped a beat as he looked at her. He couldn't help but lean in to kiss her rosy lips.
Deanna was momentarily stunned but didn't push him away.
After the kiss, she leaned weakly against Lance's chest, her eyes dreamy.
Lance wasn't much better off; his eyes were full of restrained desires, and his breathing was heavy.
It took a while for both of them to calm down.
Deanna playfully pushed Lance away, pouting, "You're being naughty again. How am I supposed to face your parents like this?"
She took out a compact from her handbag to check her makeup. Fortunately, only her lipstick was smudged; the rest of her makeup was intact.
Lance watched her nervousness with amusement. He pulled her back into his arms and whispered with a chuckle, "Don't worry. My parents are open-minded people. Besides, no matter what you look like today, their attention will be on the kids."
Deanna glared at him but couldn't refute it because she knew Lance was right.
Indeed, that was the case.
Upon arriving at the Lego exhibition, Lance's parents waved at the young couple and said, "You two go explore on your own. We won't be third wheels. We'll call you around noon to find a place to eat."
"Grannie is right. Mommy and Daddy, you go have fun," the two little ones echoed, waving their hands to shoo Deanna and Lance away.
Deanna found it amusing but didn't say anything. She politely said to Lance's parents, "Please take care of them."
Lance nodded to his parents and then instructed the two little ones to behave before taking Deanna away.
They didn't go far but chose a different direction from Logan and Samantha to explore the exhibition.
Looking at the displayed works around them and hearing the exclamations from the crowd, Deanna leaned her head slightly on Lance's arm and smiled, "Gregory will definitely love this place. He's always wanted to meet Lego experts."
Lance didn't deny it. He glanced around and smiled faintly, "That's why my parents specifically chose this exhibition."
Deanna nodded and followed Lance around the exhibition hall.
Occasionally, they stopped to admire something that caught their interest.
While their side was calm and warm, Logan and Samantha's side was much livelier.
Since both little ones loved Legos, they quickly found some Lego puzzles they were interested in at the exhibition and even tried to join a puzzle group.
At first, many people saw that they were just kids and didn't take them seriously. Some even found them annoying.
"Kids should just watch quietly and not cause trouble."
"Where are your parents? Whose kids are these? Keep them from causing trouble."
"Seriously, if you're going out with kids, at least keep an eye on them. Don't let them meddle in other people's business. It's so rude."
