Chapter 523: A Perfect Misunderstanding

Deanna quickly separated from Lance upon hearing the words. She responded, "I understand, I'll be there right away." After speaking, she reminded Lance, "You go wash up and rest; I'll be back later."

Lance nodded and watched her leave before turning towards the bathroom. Unbeknownst to him, Leticia was sneaking up to the door.

She gently pushed it open and saw that the room was empty, but the sound of running water came from the bathroom, making her eyes light up with excitement.

It seemed fate was on her side! Thinking this, she quietly entered the room and took off her outer clothes. Under the light, she wore a white silk transparent nightgown that perfectly showcased her graceful figure.

Leticia looked at herself in the mirror, full of confidence. With her body, she believed Lance would surely fall for her.

At that moment, the water in the bathroom stopped. Leticia was startled and quickly took off her shoes, hiding on the bed with her back to the bathroom.

When Lance came out, he saw this scene and thought Deanna had returned. Just as he was about to speak, he noticed something was off.

If Deanna had returned, she would never lie on the bed without greeting him. Moreover, the shoes on the floor and the clothes on the chair were not Deanna's.

Realizing this, Lance's face darkened. He strode to the bedside and looked down at the person on the bed with dangerous eyes. Leticia, unaware that she had been discovered, waited excitedly and nervously on the bed.

She planned to turn off the lights once Lance got into bed. After they had sex, even if Deanna suddenly returned, it wouldn't matter.

However, things did not go as she had hoped. Just as she was filled with anticipation and nervousness, the blanket was suddenly lifted.

Lance immediately recognized Leticia under the blanket, his handsome features darkening with anger.

"It's you!" he said coldly.

Leticia was stunned, not expecting to be discovered so quickly. Before she could react, she was pulled off the bed and thrown to the floor. Lance released her with disgust, his eyes filled with contempt. "What are you doing here?"

Leticia finally came to her senses and saw the disgust in his eyes, which stung deeply.

But remembering her plan, she ignored it and tried to throw herself at Lance. "Lance, I like you. As long as you're willing, I'll give you everything."

Seeing her approach with flirtatious eyes, Lance's face turned even darker with anger. Without thinking, he kicked her away.

Leticia hadn't expected Lance to act so ruthlessly and fell to the ground in pain and humiliation. "Lance, why are you treating me like this?" she asked tearfully.

Lance was thoroughly disgusted, his eyes cold as ice. "It seems I was too lenient before. Since you want a man so badly, I'll find ten or eight men for you later and let your parents see how shameless their daughter is!"

Leticia's face turned pale at his words, not just because of his threat but also because of what he had said earlier. "So it was you who arranged for me to be locked in that dark room," she said with certainty.

Lance did not deny it and coldly replied, "Will you leave now or should I have someone escort you out?" Though he didn't say anything threatening, Leticia felt a chill from his expression.

Remembering his previous words, she believed he might actually follow through. Reluctantly, she left.

Soon, only Lance remained in the room. He looked at the bed Leticia had touched and felt repulsed. He pressed the intercom and instructed a servant to come clean up.

Meanwhile, Deanna was unaware of Leticia's self-invitation and subsequent expulsion by Lance.

Upon arriving at Old Walsh's room and seeing his poor condition, she began treatment seriously.

After a while, she relaxed slightly but looked at him with some exasperation. "Old Walsh, didn't I tell you not to drink strong tea for a while? Why didn't you listen?"

Old Walsh looked embarrassed as Deanna diagnosed the cause. "I thought my body had recovered enough that a little wouldn't hurt..." he explained.

But after drinking it, he felt unwell and had intended to endure it without alarming Deanna until she showed up on her own.

He didn't know this was all part of Leticia's scheme. Leticia had noticed the butler making strong tea for her grandfather and knew it would make him uncomfortable. So she had someone notify Deanna, leading to everything that happened afterward.

It was indeed a perfect misunderstanding.
