Later, after breakfast, Deanna followed Old Hughes to treat Old Walsh.
Lance went to the branch office in Jando to handle company matters.
As for the rest of the Walsh family, they each busied themselves with their own affairs.
Ernest and Hassan went to the company. These days, because of Old Walsh's illness, the two had been staying at home.
Mrs. Walsh, seeing everyone else occupied, went to Leticia's room to try to persuade her.
"Madam."
Outside the room, the bodyguard respectfully greeted Mrs. Walsh.
Worried that Leticia might cause trouble for Deanna again, Ernest had stationed someone at the door to prevent her from leaving.
Mrs. Walsh saw this and coldly said, "Open the door. I want to see my daughter."
The bodyguard did not dare to stop her and turned to open the door.
Entering the room, Mrs. Walsh saw her daughter sitting on the bed, looking rather displeased.
Leticia saw her and snorted, turning her head away in a huff.
"Still angry?"
Mrs. Walsh walked over helplessly, breaking the silence.
Leticia couldn't help but complain, "You didn't keep your word. You promised to help me get close to Lance."
Mrs. Walsh did not deny it. After Leticia finished speaking, she calmly said, "I originally wanted to help you get close to Lance, but you saw his attitude yourself. He doesn't show respect to even me as an elder."
Leticia was speechless and bit her lip in silence.
Seeing this, Mrs. Walsh began to persuade her earnestly.
"There are many excellent men in this world, not just Lance. We can look at others. Besides, you've only known Lance for a few days. Do you know him well enough?"
Hearing these words, Leticia finally understood her mother's purpose for coming over.
She glared angrily and said unhappily, "So you came here just to tell me this?"
"That's right, Leticia. You're grown up now, not a child anymore. Don't be so willful."
Mrs. Walsh nodded and continued to persuade.
Leticia was very frustrated. "I don't care. I just like Lance. I want to be with him. I won't marry anyone else in this life!"
Looking at her stubborn daughter, Mrs. Walsh felt more exhausted than ever.
"You won't marry anyone else, but will he marry you?"
She scolded, "Besides, Mr. Mercer already has a girlfriend he likes. In a couple of days, Mr. Mercer will leave for Cloudmere. Are you planning to chase him all the way there?"
"What? Lance is leaving?"
Leticia looked over in shock and disbelief.
How could it be so soon? She hadn't even done anything yet.
Mrs. Walsh didn't know what she was thinking. Seeing her sad expression, she steeled herself and said truthfully, "Mr. Mercer came here to find Dr. Deanna. In a couple of days, your grandfather's condition will stabilize, and Dr. Deanna will naturally return. When she leaves, Mr. Mercer will naturally follow."
At this point, Mrs. Walsh sighed and advised again.
"Mommy knows you are unwilling, but it's really impossible between you and Mr. Mercer. You need to understand that."
Unfortunately, Leticia didn't listen at all.
At this moment, her mind was full of thoughts about Lance leaving. She felt anxious, angry, and unwilling.
She didn't even notice when Mrs. Walsh left.
When she came back to her senses, it seemed she had made a decision.
She had to find a way to make it impossible for Lance to shake her off before he left. The best way was to sleep with Lance for once. She believed her parents and grandparents wouldn't stand by and do nothing when that happened.
But before that, she needed to find a way to get her father to let her out.
A few minutes later, Leticia dressed up and opened the door.
The bodyguard saw her and thought she was going out. He reached out to stop her and said, "Miss Walsh, Mr. Ernest said you can't leave this room."
"I know. I want to see my father. Tell him I know I was wrong."
Leticia spoke calmly.
The bodyguard hesitated but eventually passed on the message.
By late morning, Leticia's confinement was lifted.
At noon, Deanna saw her sitting at the dining table and was a bit surprised but didn't pay much attention.
Lance hadn't returned yet; he was tied up with company matters.
Leticia was secretly pleased when she heard this news, thinking that even fate was helping her by giving her time to plan.
Soon it was evening.
Lance returned before dark.
Deanna smelled a faint scent of alcohol on him and frowned slightly. "Did you drink?"
"There was one drink I couldn't refuse, so I had a little. But I had Xavier handle the rest."
Lance held the woman in front of him gently, smiling softly as he responded.
Deanna nestled in his arms and softly reminded him, "Just be mindful. Your body hasn't fully recovered yet; you shouldn't drink or overwork yourself."
"I know. I won't touch alcohol again."
Lance promised with a light laugh.
As they were talking, a servant's voice came from outside the door, "Dr. Deanna, our master is feeling unwell and would like you to take a look."
