After leaving the room, Leticia did not immediately return to her bedroom.
She stood in the hallway, watching Lance call the house servants with a grim face, ordering them to remove everything she had touched in the room.
"Damn it, who is he trying to humiliate?" she muttered through gritted teeth, but her voice was so low that no one noticed her.
At the same time, Deanna came downstairs and saw the servants carrying familiar bed linens away. She couldn't help but stop them.
The servants greeted her politely, "Dr. Deanna."
"What are you doing?" Deanna asked, her eyes falling on the bed linens in their arms. "If I'm not mistaken, these should be from my room."
The servants nodded and said, "Indeed, these are from your room. Mr. Mercer said they were dirty and asked us to wash them."
Hearing that it was Lance's arrangement, Deanna felt puzzled but didn't say anything and signaled the servants to leave.
Just as she was about to return to her room, a shadow flashed out from the side and blocked her path.
"Deanna!" Leticia glared at the radiant woman in front of her, unable to hide the jealousy in her eyes.
It was because of this woman that Lance had thrown her out of the room and treated her like a virus, ordering everything she touched to be replaced.
Deanna frowned tightly at the sudden appearance of Leticia.
"Miss Walsh, do you need something?" she asked coldly.
"How dare you ask me if I need something? If it weren't for you, why would Lance reject me? It's all because of you!"
Leticia stared at Deanna's beautiful face, wishing she could tear it apart.
Hearing these words, Deanna laughed angrily and began to lose her temper.
This woman had repeatedly tried to seduce her boyfriend and now had the audacity to confront her. Did she think Deanna was a pushover?
Thinking of this, Deanna looked at Leticia with cold eyes and said in a chilling voice, "Miss Walsh, let me make one thing clear. I knew Lance before you did. To put it bluntly, it's you who has been trying to get close to my boyfriend."
"That's not true! Lance isn't your boyfriend. Don't think I don't know that you two aren't together! It's Old Hughes who forced you two together," Leticia denied furiously.
Deanna was silent for a few seconds before sneering, "Do you really think that's true? If Lance and I weren't a couple, do you think Old Hughes alone could arrange for us to be together?"
Although she and Lance hadn't been together before they started living together, she had no intention of telling Leticia that.
Leticia was further provoked by her words and couldn't find a rebuttal.
But letting Deanna go just like that was something Leticia couldn't accept. Anger filled her, and her eyes turned red as she spoke without thinking.
"You shameless woman! Even if you're with Lance, you don't truly love him. You're a fickle woman. You have Lance but still try to seduce my cousin!"
"How can you be so greedy? Do you think you can have everything good in this world? I'm telling you, it's impossible!"
"As long as you disappear, Lance will be mine."
With that, Leticia's anger turned into action as she reached out to strangle Deanna's neck.
Naturally, Deanna wouldn't let her succeed. She retreated while dodging the attacks.
But Leticia was determined to take Deanna's life and kept advancing.
Unknowingly, they reached the balcony at the end of the hallway.
Deanna felt a sense of emptiness behind her and panicked for a few seconds, giving Leticia the opportunity to grab her neck.
"Let go of me!" Deanna instinctively reached out to protect her neck, trying to remove Leticia's hands.
Logically, Deanna should have been stronger due to her years of handling medicinal herbs and doing various tasks. However, for some reason, Leticia's grip on her neck felt like iron clamps that she couldn't shake off.
Leticia was already consumed by madness.
Seeing Deanna struggle in pain only fueled her desire to kill this woman.
As long as Deanna died, Lance would be hers. No one would compete with her for Lance anymore.
With this thought, she used all her strength, lifting Deanna off the ground.
Deanna's face turned pale as prolonged lack of oxygen caused blood to rush to her head. Her vision darkened, and her consciousness began to fade.
Leticia felt an unprecedented sense of satisfaction seeing this.
"This is what happens when you mess with me!"
Deanna wanted to say something but couldn't make a sound.
At that moment, a piercing scream came from behind them, followed by the panicked voices of the servants.
"Miss Walsh, what are you doing? Let go of Dr. Deanna."
