Chapter 397: Becoming a Demon

Alonso's face grew darker and angrier as he listened to the person on the phone.

"I don't care what the reason is. The fact that Lance is still alive is your failure. You must find a way to eliminate him!"

He couldn't allow Lance to survive. If Lance did, Alonso's losses over the past two days would be irrecoverable, and his father would never forgive him.

Bella was well aware that Alonso wouldn't let Lance off the hook. A calculating smile appeared on her lips.

Given Alonso's mindset, especially after she mentioned the tight security around Lance, he would definitely find another way to prevent Lance from receiving treatment.

And the best way to do that was to deal with the treating doctor.

Deanna, let's see who can save you this time!

The more Bella thought about it, the happier she felt.

But she didn't forget her main task. She quickly concealed her glee, grabbed her phone, and left the house with a worried expression.

When she arrived at the hospital, she saw Samantha in the hallway talking to the two children. A hint of malice flashed in her eyes, but she walked over with a friendly demeanor.

"Samantha, what are you talking about?"

She smiled gently at the two children after speaking.

The two children greeted her politely but didn't continue the conversation. They didn't like this aunt; she felt fake to them.

Bella didn't mind their coldness.

Once she dealt with Deanna, these kids would be next.

Samantha had no idea that the person beside her had turned into a demon.

Over the past few days, Bella's efforts to win her over had significantly reduced Samantha's wariness towards her.

So when Samantha saw Bella approaching, she smiled warmly. "Why are you here? Weren't you going shopping to buy gifts for your parents?"

To make Samantha and Deanna believe she had moved on from Lance, Bella had been keeping her distance from him.

Bella smiled. "I finished shopping and was passing by the hospital, so I thought I'd drop in."

She glanced towards the ward but couldn't see much, so she looked away. "Is Dr. Deanna still treating him?"

"Yes, she said Lance would wake up in three days."

Samantha's smile grew wider as she spoke about it, praising Deanna. "Lance always said Dr. Deanna was very skilled. I never really believed it until now."

"My mommy has always been amazing," one of the children suddenly chimed in, defending their mother.

Their proud declaration made Samantha laugh. "Yes, yes, your mommy is the best."

Watching their warm interaction, Bella could barely contain her resentment.

Samantha used to dislike Deanna just as much as she did. Why had her attitude changed?

Was it because of the children?

Bella's gaze towards the two children grew darker.

The children felt a sudden chill down their spines as if something bad was watching them. They shivered involuntarily.

Samantha noticed and asked with concern, "Are you feeling cold?"

"A little," they nodded honestly.

There had indeed been a chill just now.

Samantha immediately said, "Let's get you home so you don't catch a cold."

New York had been getting colder over the past few days.

Soon, the children were taken home.

As soon as they left, Deanna finished her treatment and walked out of the ward looking exhausted.

Seeing her weary state, Bella's eyes gleamed with a dark light, but she put on a concerned face. "Miss Jones, you don't look well. You need to take care of yourself. Lance's recovery depends on you."

Deanna was taken aback by Bella's concern.

She hadn't expected Bella to care about her.

Deanna nodded slightly in response to Bella's kind words. "I know."

Samantha also thought Bella's words made sense.

With only three days left until her son woke up, she couldn't let Deanna get too tired now.

"Since today's treatment is over, I'll have someone take Dr. Deanna home to rest."

She instructed the bodyguard nearby after speaking.

Deanna initially didn't want to leave, but Samantha's next words left her no choice.

"With only three days left until Lance wakes up, you can't afford to be exhausted."

So Deanna was escorted back to the villa.

Watching her leave, Braylon looked like a longing husband, wishing he could follow her. You know, he really wanted to learn medical skills from Deanna.

Over the past few days of assisting Deanna with the treatment, he had come to deeply respect her medical skills and found them incredibly miraculous.

If Deanna wasn't so exhausted after each treatment session, he would have dragged her to his office to learn from her.

Samantha was unaware of his inner turmoil. After sending Deanna off, she went into the ward to take care of Lance.

Bella followed closely behind, helping Samantha with various tasks.

After a while, Bella suddenly put on an annoyed expression and slapped her forehead.
