Everyone quieted down after hearing Deanna's words.
Finally, Braylon, as the representative, began to ask, "What treatment method did you use?"
"It's an ancient medical art with thousands of years of history in my country, different from the traditional medicine you've seen before," Deanna explained briefly.
Even so, Braylon understood. Although he rarely returned to his homeland, he had heard some rumors. Rumors about hidden medical families who mastered many ancient and mysterious healing methods. Braylon had never seen them and thus never believed them. He didn't expect these rumors to be true and that such mystical medical arts existed.
With these thoughts, Braylon's gaze towards Deanna grew increasingly fervent. "Are you from one of those hidden families?"
"Uh... no," Deanna knew he misunderstood and shook her head in denial. She patiently explained, "I was just lucky to meet my master, who taught me a few techniques."
However, Braylon didn't take her words to heart. He thought Deanna was being modest and that her medical skills were extraordinary. "Dr. Deanna, you're too modest. If possible, I'd like to discuss medical techniques with you in depth. For instance, could you teach me your acupuncture? I think this skill could be used in surgeries for uncontrollable hemorrhages."
Looking at the man seriously discussing medical techniques with her, Deanna didn't know whether to laugh or feel helpless. She hadn't realized before that this person was a medical fanatic. She quickly cast a pleading look at Xavier.
Xavier understood and immediately stepped forward to shield Deanna, pushing Braylon towards the ward. "It's been half an hour already. Shouldn't you be recording data?"
Hearing this, even though Braylon was reluctant, he had to prioritize his work. As for the other doctors, Xavier's bodyguards signaled them to leave. Soon, the doctors surrounding Deanna were all gone.
She stood there and let out a deep breath of relief. Samantha noticed and had a complicated expression. She had always looked down on Deanna's background but didn't expect that she might have a master from a hidden family. Even so, she didn't think Deanna was a good match for Lance.
Suppressing her unusual feelings, Samantha showed rare concern, "You don't look well. Let me arrange for someone to take you back to rest."
Deanna didn't refuse; she needed to ensure she had enough energy to treat Lance. Before leaving, Samantha couldn't help but ask about Lance's condition. "When will Lance wake up? Will the toxins cause any long-term effects on his body?"
"Once all the toxins are cleared, Mr. Mercer should wake up," Deanna answered truthfully.
Samantha continued to ask, "When will the toxins be completely cleared?"
"In about six days. However, once Mr. Mercer wakes up, he must rest well for a while. The toxins have caused significant damage to his body and need nourishment to prevent any long-term effects," Deanna explained further about the follow-up treatment.
Samantha frowned at the six-day timeline, thinking it was too long. But she didn't voice her thoughts and arranged for someone to escort Deanna back.
The two little ones stayed behind; they wanted to spend more time with Lance. Thus, when Bella arrived, she saw this heartwarming scene. In the ward, Samantha sat on the sofa reading a magazine while the two little ones stood on either side of Lance's bed, talking to him in their childish voices.
Bella found the scene increasingly annoying but quickly hid her displeasure and knocked on the door with a solemn expression. "Samantha."
"Bella, what brings you here?" Samantha was surprised to see Bella.
Bella glanced worriedly at Lance on the bed and said softly, "I saw the news about Lance being attacked and falling into a coma. I came because I was worried. How is Lance? Has he woken up?"
She looked at Samantha with concern. Samantha was about to answer when Bella walked over and blinked at her, speaking in a voice only they could hear, "Samantha, don't say Lance can be saved. Don't ask why; I'll explain after we leave the hospital."
Samantha widened her eyes but nodded in agreement, understanding that Bella had her reasons.
"Lance hasn't woken up yet. The doctors said if they can't develop an antidote within half a month, there will be no hope for recovery."
"How can that be? Didn't Dr. Deanna say she could treat Lance?" Bella feigned shock.
Samantha replied bitterly, "That was just for public reassurance to prevent turmoil in Mercer Group."
"I see."
The two of them continued their act. Chloe and Gregory were confused by their conversation. Uncle Lance clearly had hope for recovery; why were Grannie and that lady saying otherwise?
