Chapter 388: How Could Bloodletting Detoxify Him?

After modifying a few medicinal ingredients, Deanna finally confirmed the final prescription.

It was already midnight, and it was almost noon in Cloudmere.

Holding the phone, Deanna felt a bit embarrassed. "I didn't realize we've been talking for so long. Thank you, Old Hughes."

"No problem, discussing the prescription with you has been quite beneficial for me as well."

Old Hughes wasn't lying. Although he thought Deanna was a bit inexperienced in prescribing, her use of medicinal ingredients was something he couldn't match. Perhaps this was the difference between ancient medical art and traditional medicine.

After a few polite exchanges, Deanna hung up the phone. She put away her phone and turned around, noticing that the two little ones who had been playing on the sofa were no longer there. However, she wasn't concerned and walked out of the room.

Outside, Hector had been paying attention to the room's movements. Hearing the sound, he immediately walked to the staircase on the first floor and respectfully asked, "Dr. Deanna, are you done?"

In the afternoon, he had learned from Xavier about Dr. Deanna's identity. It was likely that she would be his future young mistress, along with Master Gregory and Miss Chloe. He hadn't expected Mr. Mercer to have such grown children.

As Deanna came downstairs, she looked around and noticed the quiet surroundings. She couldn't help but ask, "Where are my two children?"

"Master Gregory and Miss Chloe have gone to sleep. When you were on the phone, they got hungry, so I arranged for someone to prepare dinner for them. Afterward, they seemed tired, so I took them to the guest room to rest," Hector explained briefly and then respectfully asked, "Dr. Deanna, are you hungry? I can have the kitchen prepare some food."

Hearing this, Deanna rubbed her stomach and nodded. "I am a bit hungry." She was not only hungry but also very tired. After all, she had been on a plane for over ten hours without rest and had gone straight to the hospital.

After a simple late-night snack, Deanna returned to her room to rest. She slept deeply that night. Perhaps because she was worried about Lance's condition, she woke up early.

The next day, just as dawn broke, Deanna woke up. Seeing that it was early, she began organizing her luggage and took out the necessary medicinal ingredients. Fortunately, she had brought almost everything she needed; only a few were missing, which she planned to purchase on her way to the hospital later.

At eight in the morning, Deanna had breakfast with the two little ones before heading to the hospital. Although Lance's toxins had been suppressed, there was still danger. The sooner the toxins were eliminated, the sooner Lance's health could be ensured.

Of course, she didn't forget to visit a traditional medicine shop to replenish the missing ingredients. As a result, by the time she arrived at the hospital, it was almost ten o'clock.

When Xavier learned that Deanna had arrived, he couldn't sit still and personally came out of the ward to greet her. Almost as soon as he saw Deanna, he eagerly asked, "Dr. Deanna, have you finalized the treatment plan?"

"It's confirmed. I'm here today to carry out the first treatment," Deanna said as she walked towards Lance's ward. The two little ones followed obediently behind her. They knew their mommy was going to treat Uncle Lance today and tried their best not to disturb her so she could focus on helping him recover quickly.

However, when they entered the ward, they were surprised to see Braylon with several foreign doctors standing inside.

Seeing Deanna and her group, Braylon frowned in displeasure. "I knew you wouldn't keep your promise and would come to treat Lance on your own."

"Dr. Cohen, I understand you're concerned about Mr. Mercer, but there's no better solution than Dr. Deanna's right now," Xavier tried to persuade Braylon.

Unfortunately, Braylon didn't trust Deanna at all and said sternly, "Xavier, I understand your position, but I must be responsible for my patient. Unless Dr. Deanna can convince me otherwise."

Although he was Lance's friend and usually easygoing, he allowed no room for error in his work because even a small mistake could worsen a patient's condition.

Deanna looked at the man insisting on seeing her treatment plan from a distance. Though anxious, she wasn't as angry as yesterday. As a fellow doctor, she understood the responsibility of being accountable for one's patients.

"Alright then, since you're not at ease, I'll explain my treatment plan," Deanna finally conceded. The most important thing was not to delay Lance's treatment over such a minor issue.

"I plan to use my master's unique technique called Nine Rejuvenation Needles to expel the toxins from Lance's body. Then I'll use a herb soup that helps keep living to nourish his organs damaged by the toxins. Once he wakes up, I'll use medicinal baths to clear any remaining toxins and nourishing soups to strengthen his body."

After hearing this series of explanations, Braylon and the surrounding foreign doctors felt like they were listening to an ancient spell rather than a scientific treatment plan.

Some even thought Deanna's method sounded like ancient witchcraft and unscientific!

"This is completely reckless; bloodletting can't possibly detoxify!"
