For the next two days, Deanna rested at home.
On the third day, feeling completely recovered, she contacted Old Hughes to inquire about the free clinic.
"Old Hughes, I wanted to ask about the timing of the free clinic. When will it start?"
"Are you feeling better?" Old Hughes responded with a question.
Deanna smiled, "I'm fully recovered, Old Hughes. No need to worry."
"That's good to hear. As for the free clinic, I'll make arrangements now. It will start the day after tomorrow at the latest."
They discussed the details of the free clinic for a while before hanging up.
Later, Old Hughes finalized the details and had them published.
As soon as the news was out, the entire high society of Cloudmere was abuzz.
The reason was simple: besides Old Hughes, the Wright family was also involved in this free clinic.
For many, this was a rare opportunity.
Not only could they seek medical attention, but they could also use this chance to connect with the Wright or Hughes families.
Thus, on the day the free clinic began, many people lined up early outside the pharmacy, hoping to get an opportunity.
Deanna was initially unaware of the situation. When she arrived near the pharmacy, she noticed many luxury cars parked around.
As she approached the pharmacy entrance, she saw a long line of people waiting outside and was stunned.
While she stood there in a daze, she overheard people whispering.
"I wonder which doctors are seeing patients today. Will Old Hughes and Old Wright be attending?"
"I'm not sure about Old Hughes and Old Wright, but I doubt it. They rarely make appearances."
"Really? Then I came here for nothing. I was hoping to see Old Hughes and Old Wright."
Some were disappointed, while others didn't mind.
Deanna listened with interest and was about to head into the pharmacy when she heard someone mention a highly skilled doctor.
"I heard that Old Hughes invited a highly skilled doctor today. This doctor is said to be highly praised by Old Wright. If Old Wright and Old Hughes aren't attending, seeing this doctor would be just as good."
"That's right. This highly skilled doctor seems to have a special relationship with Old Wright and Old Hughes. Maybe we can use this chance to connect with them indirectly."
"Good idea."
Hearing these conversations and seeing many people eager to get on her good side, Deanna couldn't help but chuckle. She was even more impressed by the influence of the Hughes and Wright families.
Many people present were those Deanna had seen at Old Wright's birthday banquet.
However, it seemed they had forgotten her; otherwise, they would have recognized her.
As more people joined the queue outside, Deanna composed herself and decided to enter the pharmacy.
She had barely taken a few steps when a well-dressed young woman stopped her.
"Which family are you from? Can't you see all these people waiting in line? What makes you think you can cut in?"
Clearly, this lady had misunderstood Deanna.
Deanna paused, intending to explain.
But before she could speak, the lady continued in a scolding tone, "I am Sariah Osborne, the eldest daughter of the Osborne family. Even I am not making exceptions for myself. Moreover, everyone here is a person of significance. Can you show some respect?"
Deanna found it both amusing and exasperating.
Despite her delicate appearance, Sariah had quite a sharp tongue, leaving Deanna no chance to respond.
Finally finding an opening to explain, Deanna managed to say a few words before being interrupted again.
"Actually, I'm here to-"
"I'm sorry everyone. I apologize on behalf of my sister. She is from our Jones family."
Emily appeared out of nowhere, sincerely apologizing to everyone on Deanna's behalf.
She acted as if she were Deanna's spokesperson.
Seeing Emily, Sariah frowned immediately.
She recognized Emily.
After all, Emily had once been a famous star and was quite recognizable in Cloudmere.
"If she's from your Jones family, then please manage her properly to avoid any embarrassing situations."
But as soon as Sariah finished speaking, Emily helplessly shrugged. "I'm afraid I can't fulfill that request, Miss Osborne. Although she's from my Jones family, she was expelled five years ago."
Sariah was surprised and instinctively asked, "Why?"
Emily looked troubled.
"This is a family scandal that shouldn't be aired publicly, Miss Osborne. Please don't ask."
"But what if I insist? And if she's been expelled from your family, why is she here today? Are you trying to deceive me?"
Sariah looked at Emily with difficulty.
A calculating smile flashed in Emily's eyes, but she appeared to compromise reluctantly. "Do you all remember the scandal that rocked my Jones family five years ago? This is the main character of that scandal, my dear sister. As for why she's here today, I have no idea."
