Chapter 1253: Undergoing a Minor Surgery

"If they don't bring live-in sons-in-law, neither of them will have the right to inherit the Grant Group. Is that acceptable?" Lionel resolved the issue fundamentally once again.

Cristal was at a loss for words, then angrily retorted, "Lionel, are you trying to provoke me on purpose? You know that's not what I meant!"

Lionel's expression remained unchanged as he calmly replied, "I'm just stating my stance. There's another matter I haven't mentioned. Given your attitudes, Julia's parents are very dissatisfied and are considering canceling our wedding."

"They wouldn't dare!" Cristal shouted.

She couldn't believe the King family would be so bold. "How can they cancel the wedding? The betrothal gifts have been given, the news has been announced, and their daughter has even had your children. Who else could she marry besides our family?"

"With Deanna around, even if Julia has two children, she can still marry well. And Deanna is very protective. If she finds out how you've been mistreating Julia and your schemes, none of your plans will succeed," Lionel said with a cold smile.

Cristal was once again speechless.

Tristan broke his silence, "Alright, we understand your point. From now on, we won't interfere in your and Julia's matters."

He realized that his son had come back specifically to warn them. Although he wasn't sure if the King family's attitude was genuine, this marriage was the best option for them, and he couldn't allow any mishaps.

...

That evening, Deanna spent the day at the hospital with Julia before slowly returning to the estate with the two little ones.

Unexpectedly, as she got out of the car, she ran into Lance, who had also just returned.

"Lance."

"Daddy!"

The three of them happily greeted him.

Deanna linked arms with Lance and asked with a sweet smile, "Why are you home so early today?"

"Nothing much going on, so I came back early," Lance said, his eyes flickering as he changed the subject. "Did you just come back from the hospital?"

Deanna nodded. "Yes, we just got back from visiting Julia."

"Daddy, we saw the little sisters today. They were not well-behaved at all and looked ugly like monkeys," the two little ones said, wrinkling their noses.

Chloe looked worriedly at Deanna's belly and prayed, "I hope our baby won't be like them; otherwise, I'll be very disappointed."

Deanna was speechless.

She explained again, "I've told you before, that's normal. In a few days, they'll grow and become very cute."

"But what if they don't?" The kids always had strange questions that made Deanna unsure whether to laugh or cry.

Because of this, her attention was entirely on the kids' questions, so she didn't notice Lance's odd behavior.

It wasn't until they returned to the bedroom that Deanna sensed something was wrong. She frowned and looked at him worriedly. "Lance, are you hurt?"

"No, why would you ask that?" Lance naturally denied it.

Deanna narrowed her eyes and questioned again, "Really not hurt?"

"Really not. I'll go run a bath for you," Lance tried to change the subject but failed.

Deanna grabbed him and blocked his way.

She stared at him and insisted, "Whether you are or not, take off your pants so I can check."

Seeing her determination, Lance showed a helpless expression, knowing he couldn't hide it anymore.

"Alright, I'll tell you. I'm not hurt; I just had a minor surgery."

"What kind of surgery? Are you sick?" Deanna immediately frowned and took his hand to check his pulse but found it steady, not like someone who was ill.

She looked at him in confusion.

Meeting her gaze, Lance knew he had to explain clearly. With some embarrassment, he confessed, "I'm not sick. I just had a vasectomy."

A vasectomy!

Deanna's eyes widened in disbelief. "You actually did it!"

Lance coughed lightly and explained, "We're still young and might be careless sometimes. I learned that it's better for men to do it; it's harmless. But if women do it, it could cause some diseases and long-term discomfort."

Listening to his words, Deanna covered her mouth, not knowing how to describe her feelings at that moment.

"You're too good!"

She excitedly threw herself into his arms.

Lance carefully held her and chuckled. "You're my wife. If I don't treat you well, who will? Besides, I promised Grandma I'd take good care of you; otherwise, I'm afraid she'd come after me from the afterlife!"

"Grandma would never do that; she liked you the most," Deanna said as she tightly hugged him, her muffled voice coming from his neck.
