After Julia gave birth, Deanna's due date was also approaching.
Lance had almost stopped going to the company, dedicating all his time to Deanna.
As for the Mercer family, except for Logan who needed to stay at the company, everyone else had moved to the estate.
Seeing the Mercer family so prepared, Deanna felt a warm sensation in her heart.
Their actions made Deanna feel valued.
In the blink of an eye, it was three days before her due date.
Lance took Deanna to the hospital early to prepare for the birth.
He stayed by Deanna's side without leaving, strictly following the doctor's pre-birth preparations.
Finally, on the evening of the fourth day, the baby couldn't wait to come out.
In her sleep, Deanna felt a heavy pain in her stomach and knew it was time.
Before she could call anyone, Lance, who had been alert, noticed the situation.
"Is it time?"
Lance turned over and sat up in bed, looking at Deanna nervously.
Deanna took a deep breath and nodded. "It's time. Notify the nurse."
Hearing this, Lance immediately pressed the call button in the room, his hand never leaving Deanna's.
Seeing Deanna's pained expression, Lance said tenderly, "If it hurts, don't bite your lip. Bite my hand. My skin is thick; I won't get hurt."
"It's not that painful yet."
Deanna shook her head gently.
Lance felt for her, and she felt for Lance too.
Soon, the nurse arrived.
Lance cooperated with them to get Deanna to the delivery room.
As she was about to go in, Lance held Deanna's hand tightly and reminded her, "If it gets too painful, opt for a C-section. I won't mind if you have a scar. I only care about how you feel, understand?"
"I know. I won't push myself."
Deanna smiled and nodded before being wheeled into the delivery room by the nurse.
Lance stood outside the closed door, trembling all over.
Then he seemed to remember something and quickly took out his phone to call home.
Logan and Samantha rushed over in their pajamas when they heard Deanna was about to give birth.
Seeing Lance in the hallway, they immediately asked anxiously, "How is Deanna? What's happening now?"
"I don't know, but Deanna has been in there for over ten minutes without any sound."
Lance said this while staring intently at the delivery room door, worried. "Why has there been no sound for so long? Is something wrong? No, I need to find someone to ask."
With that, he was about to find a nurse.
Samantha quickly stopped him. "There's no need to find anyone. It's normal for there to be no sound right now; she needs to save her strength for giving birth."
Almost as soon as she said this, they heard Deanna's painful moans from inside the delivery room.
Hearing this, Lance trembled all over and started pacing anxiously. "Why does she sound so much in pain? Is something wrong with Deanna?"
The more he spoke, the more uneasy he became, pacing back and forth restlessly.
Samantha and Logan had never seen Lance like this before. They found it somewhat amusing but also deeply moving.
They had witnessed their son's transformation from start to finish.
When their son first met Deanna, he was like an emotionless robot who only knew how to work all day. After meeting Deanna, they realized their son could care about someone, get jealous, get angry, and have all human emotions.
While they were lost in thought, a loud cry came from the delivery room.
Soon after, the door opened from inside, and the nurse wheeled out Deanna and the baby.
"Congratulations, mother and child are safe."
Seeing them, Lance and Logan and Samantha immediately went over to greet them.
"Deanna, are you okay?"
Lance stared at Deanna closely, examining her condition.
To be honest, Deanna looked exhausted. She was pale and covered in sweat that hadn't dried yet.
Seeing the worry in Lance's eyes, Deanna felt that all the pain she had just endured was worth it. "I'm fine. The doctor said everything went smoothly; it only hurt for a few minutes."
Hearing this, Lance breathed a sigh of relief and then looked at the baby with a satisfied smile. "He knows his place; otherwise, I had already thought about how to deal with him when he grew up."
"You rascal! What kind of father talks like that!"
Samantha understood what her son meant and playfully slapped him.
But she didn't forget to care for Deanna either. Smiling warmly, she said, "Deanna, thank you for your hard work. You've given our Mercer family another member."
"That's right. You're our hero now. Rest well; we'll take care of the baby!"
Logan nodded in agreement beside her, his eyes never leaving the baby.
Seeing this, Deanna couldn't help but laugh but said nothing more.
She understood how the elders felt.
