Chapter 1252: Future Son-in-law

After hearing Julia's words, Lionel also felt that Deanna had a tough time back then.

Just now, he, Julia, and a nurse were all a bit flustered. They couldn't imagine how Deanna managed to take care of two children on her own.

Despite his deep feelings, Lionel did not forget the issues between him and Julia, so he brought it up.

"When Zackery called me out to talk, I learned what my parents said while I was away. I'm sorry for the trouble they caused you."

He sincerely apologized.

Seeing the sincerity on his face made Julia's resentment dissipate.

After all, though his parents had made things difficult for her, he loved her deeply and sincerely as always.

Moreover, they wouldn't be living together with his parents in the future.

Thinking of this, Julia was about to say something when Lionel spoke first, "Don't worry. Besides our babies, we won't have any more children. I've already scheduled a vasectomy at the hospital. Once your situation stabilizes, I'll go through with it."

"A vasectomy?"

Julia was shocked!

But it wasn't her fault for being so surprised; she hadn't heard Lionel's promise while she was in the delivery room.

Lionel nodded and held her hand, saying seriously, "Having children is too painful. I can't bear to see you suffer like that again. Two children are enough. As for my parents, don't worry. I'll talk to them tomorrow."

Julia was touched but still a bit uneasy.

"When you talk to your parents tomorrow, remember to discuss it properly. After all, they mean well."

She advised Lionel kindly.

Lionel nodded, indicating he understood.

The two then spent some time together before preparing to rest.

Unfortunately, their plans were disrupted when the babies started crying again shortly after falling asleep!

...

The next day, Deanna woke up early, thinking about Julia. She had the kitchen prepare suitable postpartum meals and then took the two little ones to the hospital.

When they arrived, only the Kings and Julia were in the ward.

The two little ones greeted the Kings politely.

"Hello, Zackery, Norah."

"Ah, Gregory and Chloe are here."

The Kings smiled warmly upon seeing them.

The two little ones nodded and smiled shyly, "We came to see our sisters."

They peeked towards the baby cribs as they spoke.

Seeing this, the Kings waved them over, "Come here, but be quiet. The babies are still resting."

The two little ones nodded happily and tiptoed over to look at the cribs carefully.

Inside the cribs, the two babies were still tiny, with red faces and wrinkled skin.

"Our sisters are so ugly, not pretty like godmother."

"Did they inherit from Uncle Lionel? But Uncle Lionel isn't ugly either?"

The two little ones whispered.

The Kings, Deanna, and Julia couldn't help but laugh.

Deanna explained, "All babies look like this when they're born. You were even uglier when you were born."

"Exactly. You were this small too, with wrinkled skin like little monkeys."

Julia added with gestures.

The two little ones were stunned.

How could they have been so ugly as babies?

Seeing their dumbfounded expressions, the ward filled with good-natured laughter again.

In contrast to this harmonious scene, things were far from peaceful on Lionel's side.

In the living room, Lionel mustered his energy to confront his parents. "What exactly do you want? Do you want to see my family fall apart?"

"Are you blaming us?"

Cristal immediately glared at him in displeasure.

Tristan also frowned, showing obvious discontent.

Lionel didn't deny it and said seriously, "I remember telling you that whether Julia gives birth to a boy or a girl, they are my children. Why did you tell Julia's parents that we must have a boy and that if we don't, we'll keep trying? What's wrong with having girls? Nowadays, boys and girls are equal. Does it matter that much?"

"Of course it matters. If you don't have a son, who will inherit the Grant family business? I let you study economics, but you chose medicine. Fine, I didn't force you. But you must give me a grandson to inherit the Grant family."

Cristal stated bluntly.

Lionel frowned deeply upon hearing this.

He didn't respond immediately but looked at his father and asked, "Do you think the same?"

Tristan met his gaze without denying it.

"Granddaughters will eventually marry someone else. Grandsons are different."

"So you're worried that if the Grant family business is handed over to a granddaughter in the future, it might become someone else's? In that case, I won't let them marry out; we'll bring in sons-in-law instead. The Grant Group will still belong to the Grant family."

Lionel resolved the issue fundamentally.

His parents were momentarily speechless.

Cristal unwillingly asked, "Are you sure your daughters will bring in sons-in-law?"
