After the check-up, Lance and Deanna returned to the neurology department with the examination report.
On the way, Lance couldn't stop looking at the pregnancy report in his hand, flipping through it repeatedly.
Deanna noticed his actions and chuckled, "Still not enough after all this time?"
"Such a miraculous thing, how could it ever be enough?" Lance replied gently, looking up at her.
To him, witnessing a child's growth was a sacred experience.
Deanna was speechless but felt very happy inside. Lance's attitude showed that he valued both her and the child greatly.
They arrived at the neurology department. In the office, Deanna's test results were already out, and Gunner was discussing the treatment plan with the doctor.
Seeing the couple, Gunner immediately stopped his conversation and asked, "How did the other check-up go?"
"The baby is very healthy, Mr. Martinez. Look, here is the baby," Lance said, his face calm but those who knew him could tell he was in a good mood.
Gunner glanced at the report and, seeing no issues, felt relieved. "As long as mother and child are healthy. Now let's talk about the amnesia."
He shifted the topic, and both Lance and Deanna became serious, waiting for his next words.
Gunner continued, "Before you arrived, I discussed with the doctor. Deanna's amnesia is due to a collision at the back of her head, causing a blood clot. The situation isn't severe, and the clot is slowly dissolving. There's no need for surgery, especially considering Deanna's pregnancy."
"No surgery? So we wait for the clot to dissolve on its own?" Lance asked.
Deanna also looked curious.
Gunner shook his head. "Natural dissolution is too slow. I plan to use acupuncture to help dissipate the blood clot. It will take about half a month to a month, which is faster than letting it dissolve on its own."
"Will it affect the baby?" Deanna asked.
Gunner smiled. "Don't worry, it won't affect the baby."
Hearing this, Deanna sighed in relief. "If it won't affect the baby, let's proceed with this treatment. When do we start?"
"Tomorrow. I'll prepare everything today. After that, I'll give you acupuncture every three days," Gunner explained.
Deanna and Lance had no objections.
After discussing these matters, they returned to Old Ashley's ward.
Everyone was there, waiting for Deanna to return with the results.
Lance didn't keep them waiting and explained, "Deanna and the baby are both very healthy. Mom, here is the baby's ultrasound image. The doctor said everything is fine."
He handed the pregnancy report to Samantha.
Samantha received it joyfully.
The two little ones immediately crowded around, their voices soft and curious. "Grandma, let us see the baby too."
"Do you understand what you're looking at?" Samantha asked but still placed the report in front of them.
The little ones stared at the colorful image but didn't understand it. They looked up in confusion. "Grandma, where is the baby?"
"What are these circles?" Chloe pointed at the image curiously.
Samantha laughed and explained, "The baby is here. Don't worry about the circles."
Since she didn't know how to explain the circles either, she pointed to where the embryo was located.
The little ones were instantly captivated and looked again, frowning tightly. "Is this really the baby? Why doesn't it have hands or feet?"
"Because it's not fully grown yet. In a few months, it will grow bigger and even be able to hear your voices and respond to you," Samantha patiently answered their questions.
Julia listened nearby and laughed. "You grew up just like this too."
"Really?" The little ones looked at Deanna skeptically, hoping for confirmation from their mom.
Deanna blinked and teased them on purpose. "I don't remember the past, but medically speaking, you did grow up like this. If you don't believe it, you can observe the baby's growth like your daddy."
"We want to observe too," they quickly said.
Everyone else smiled kindly at this scene.
They then discussed Deanna's condition.
Lance didn't hide anything and said truthfully, "Deanna has a blood clot in her brain, but it's not serious and is already dissolving slowly. However, Mr. Martinez said that recovery would be slow without intervention and suggested acupuncture treatment. It will take about half a month to a month for her memory to return."
Hearing this, everyone relaxed.
Later in the morning, as noon approached, they prepared to leave.
Before leaving, Samantha reminded Lance not to forget about dinner at the old house that evening.
