Chapter 1100: Breaking Your Leg Would Be Lenient

In the end, Dayton was kicked out of the room.

As soon as he stepped out, he saw Jack standing outside, looking at him with an indescribable expression.

Jack had always known that Mr. Poole was a scoundrel, but he hadn't expected him to be so shameless.

Perhaps Jack's disdain was too obvious, causing Dayton to glare back and ask, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

At this moment, Dayton shed his previously humble and affectionate demeanor in front of Deanna, straightened his back, and assumed his Mr. Poole persona.

Unfortunately, Jack wasn't buying it.

Although he was sent to take care of Dayton, their relationship had always been harmonious, like friends.

Because Jack had once been indebted to the Poole family patriarch, he had promised to look after Dayton and ensure he didn't cause trouble abroad.

Dayton knew that while Jack respected him, he wasn't afraid of him. So, to prevent the old man from ruining his plans, Dayton didn't forget to issue another warning and threat.

"I'm telling you, if you dare expose me and ruin my plans, I'll go back home and take your grandson to a bar."

At this moment, Jack really wanted to slap him.

He kept reminding himself that this was his benefactor's grandson, the only grandson, and barely suppressed his anger.

He snorted lightly and said, "Mr. Poole, don't worry. Since you've said so, I certainly won't go in and spill the beans. But Mr. Poole should think carefully. Once this matter is exposed, your end will be miserable. Not to mention how the Mercer family will deal with you, even the old master's temper is such that breaking your leg would be lenient."

"What do you mean by 'breaking my leg'? You old man, you're getting more disrespectful!"

Dayton was infuriated by Jack's words and was actually a bit scared inside.

After all, this matter was quite serious.

Given his family's patriarch's temperament, breaking his leg would indeed be lenient.

But he had finally gotten such an opportunity to see Lance suffer. He couldn't bear not to take advantage of it.

Forget it. No matter what, he had already taken the first step. Even if he let her go now, Lance and the family patriarch wouldn't spare him lightly. Since he would be punished anyway, he might as well satisfy himself first and then deal with the consequences later.

Deanna was unaware of their conversation.

She lay on the bed, thinking about Dayton's words earlier and felt that she could only believe half of what he said.

As she thought about it, she couldn't help but fall asleep.

Little did she know that Lance was almost going crazy looking for her.

If Gunner hadn't forced Lance to rest every day, he would have searched for her non-stop for twenty-four hours.

Seeing Mr. Mercer's increasingly weakened condition, Xavier was extremely worried.

But he couldn't persuade Mr. Mercer to rest properly.

On the other hand, Eula was extremely jealous of Lance's concern for Deanna.

Why did that despicable woman deserve Lance's wholehearted love?!

What made her better than that wretched woman?

Probably out of unwillingness to accept it, Eula became more determined with each setback and looked for opportunities every day to get close to Lance.

This time, she brought a bowl of nourishing soup to Lance's room.

"Lance, try this. I made this chicken soup using your Chiaz cooking method."

As she spoke, she placed the soup in front of Lance like a treasure.

Seeing her, Lance's already unpleasant expression immediately darkened. He scolded her, "Who allowed you in here? Get out!"

Eula frowned tightly and planned to have a good talk with Lance.

But Lance didn't give her a chance to speak further and mercilessly said, "What? Didn't I make myself clear before? Don't try to curry favor with me. Seeing you only reminds me repeatedly of what you did to Deanna!"

Hearing this, Eula couldn't bear it anymore and stared at Lance angrily, defending herself vehemently.

"I told you, Deanna's incident wasn't my doing. And now that you've caught the culprit, why are you still blaming me?"

However, Lance had no intention of responding to her questions. He directly called in his subordinates and ordered, "Throw her out. If anyone lets her in again, they'll receive twenty lashes!"

The subordinates were also puzzled when they saw Eula.

They had been guarding the door; how did this woman get in?

Although confused, they said nothing and nodded in agreement, forcibly taking her away.

Gunner arrived just in time to see this scene. His brows furrowed, and a flash of murderous intent crossed his eyes.

He then walked into Lance's room with dissatisfaction and said coldly, "It's been so long. Why haven't you dealt with that woman yet?"

Clearly, he was very displeased with Lance for still allowing Eula to hang around.

Lance understood this and looked up at him calmly. "I've been searching for Deanna for so long without any news. I have two theories: one is that Deanna has been hidden by someone, and Eula is likely that person. Only by keeping her close can we monitor her every move and see if we can find where she's hiding Deanna."

As for the other theory, he didn't want to say it or even think about it.
