Lance looked at the unrepentant Eula and said coldly, "Although your methods are clever and I can't find evidence, I don't doubt my memory. Since you won't listen to reason, I'll have to take action. Once I capture you, your subordinates will surely hand over Deanna for your safety."
With that, he signaled to his men. He then wheeled himself back a bit.
Eula's face turned extremely grim. Seeing the bodyguards coming at her, she shouted angrily, "Lance, are you really going to ruin our relationship over something that doesn't even exist?"
"You know whether it exists or not," Lance's cold voice came from outside the room.
Hearing his stubborn words, Eula gave up on trying to avoid a confrontation with Lance. She dodged the bodyguards' attacks and quickly reached under her pillow to grab her weapon.
The situation instantly reversed. With a gun in hand, Eula was no longer suppressed by the bodyguards and began to break out of the room. At the same time, her subordinates arrived outside.
Xavier protected Lance as they moved aside. The bodyguards also rushed to protect Lance.
Eula seized the opportunity and quickly joined her subordinates. Lance looked at her surrounded by her men, his dark eyes full of stormy rage. "It seems I didn't wrong you."
Knowing it was futile to deny any further, Eula still refused to admit anything. She glared at Lance and said angrily, "I don't understand what you're talking about. It seems I'm no longer welcome here. I'll leave for Espuenia now. As for our cooperation, we can still work together if you apologize."
"Apologize? You're dreaming," Lance's cold eyes glanced over, his tone turning dangerous. "Also, whether you leave or not is up to me. Don't forget, this is Chiaz, my territory."
Avery was infuriated by this. He glared at Lance and shouted angrily, "If I had known you were such an ingrate, I would have let you die in that explosion. Our master sacrificed her future as a mother to save you, and now you wrongfully accuse her for another woman over something without evidence. Unforgivable!"
Lance was silent for a few seconds after hearing this. Eula took the opportunity to remind him of his past promise.
"When I saved you, you promised me three favors. I've used one; now I invoke the second: get me out of here!"
She emphasized "get" instead of "let," deliberately provoking Lance. If he didn't comply, it would tarnish his reputation and that of the Mercer family.
Lance looked at her deeply and said in a cold voice, "One favor isn't enough; you'll need to use both remaining favors. Also, I'll only get you to international waters. Once there, whether you make it back to Espuenia depends on your luck."
Eula's face darkened. She understood that once in international waters, Lance would make his move against her. Reluctantly, she agreed. At least in international waters, she had a fighting chance; in Chiaz, she dared not confront Lance head-on.
As Eula got into the car, Lance instructed Xavier, "Inform everyone near international waters that no matter the cost, they must capture Eula."
At the same time, Eula contacted her base from the car. This day was destined to be turbulent.
Especially at night, the flames on the high seas almost illuminated half the sky. Lance sat on a yacht, watching the situation through binoculars.
After some time, the flames dimmed and the commotion ceased. Xavier approached from the cabin with a grim expression.
Lance noticed his look and asked calmly, "She got away?"
"Yes," Xavier relayed Randall's message. "They were about to capture Eula when rogue pirates intervened and took her away. Randall's men are pursuing her, but the chances of capturing her are slim. They are willing to accept punishment."
Lance rubbed his binoculars for several seconds before saying slowly, "Tell them to redeem themselves by dismantling all of Eula's forces within a week."
"Understood," Xavier nodded.
Lance wheeled himself back into the cabin. His voice echoed without emotion, "Let's go back."
By the time they returned to the estate, it was already 3 AM. Xavier pushed Lance into the living room where they saw Gunner sitting on the sofa reading a book.
