A Surprise

Next day Samar woke up and thought to get out of bed. But he saw Avika sleeping holding his shirt tightly n hugging him which shows her fear. He didn't get up as it disturbs her sleep and caressed her hair.

"I can't see you in this condition. I want to see peace and happiness in your face. I will do it anyway."

Avika woke up from her slumber and looked at him.

"Good morning, darling," Samar said, pulling her closer to him.

"Good morning," Avika said.

"Did you sleep well?"

"Yes, better than before."

While getting up, Avika's nuptial chain stuck with his shirt button. Samar tried to separate them and suddenly his hand touched Avika's cheek. Avika thought to get up but her lips touched his cheek. Samar pulled Avika towards him and brushed her lips with his forefinger. Avika shivered with his proximity as it remembered her bitter past. Avika escaped from him and Samar went for his shower understanding her fear.

Sweetheart, go and get fresh up. Let's have breakfast and go out. You have a surprise," Samar said.

Avika came to him and held his hand.

"I am sorry. I will try soon to forget my past and behave normally with you. I know I am your wife and shouldn't stay away from you. But..."

Samar smiled hearing her words.

"Why do you think that you are behaving abnormally? There is no rule that wife should move close with husband from the very first day of their marriage. Everyone needs time to get comfortable and accept their husband. We have lifetime for it and I am in no hurry. Stop worrying and get ready," Samar said.

Avika went for a shower. She came out to get ready and saw a packet on the bed. She opened it and saw a beautiful lemon-yellow dress in it. She wore it and Samar came to her with breakfast.

"I brought something for you. I do not know whether you will like it or not," Avika said.

"Anything from you to me is very precious for me."

Avika presented a ring to him with his photo in it.

"Ring is really nice but I would like it more if it has your picture," Samar said.

Avika smiled and pressed a small button which is on the side of the ring. Her picture displayed on it and then, their wedding photo.

"Wow! It's wonderful. Tell me, how did you buy it?"

"I have some money with me," Avika said, without looking at him.

"How did you get that money?"

Avika stayed silent and Samar noticed her hands without bangles.

"Did you sell your bangles for this?"

Avika nodded.

"What's the necessity to present it to me by selling your bangles now?"

"I want to present you something as soon as we got married as my memory. So I bought it for you when I went to the orphanage to bring my sari which you have gifted me for the engagement.

"I love you," Samar said, kissing on her forehead.

"I love you too," Avika said.

Both had their breakfast and he took her for the site seeing. Avika enjoyed the beautiful greenery and peaceful location. Her heart started singing after a long time with happiness. She caught his hand and walked through the green farm. After some time, Samar closed her eyes and led her a little ways away before opening her eyes.

"Here is your surprise," Samar said.

"Brother," Avika said.

Avika's brother stood there. Avika hugged her brother as they haven't met each other after the nightmare of her life.

"How are you, Chinni? I am so sorry for not helping you at that time. After that I searched a lot for you. I couldn't find you. I miss you a lot."

"It's ok, bhaiya. I too miss you."

"Samar contacted me recently and told that you are getting married to him. I am so happy for that. He is a very good person, and I'm sure you will be happy with Samar."

"Yes. He loves me a lot. How are grandma, grandpa, ma, dad, sister-in-law, and our younger brother?"

He stayed silent.

"Is everything ok, bhaiya?"

"Grandma expired with heart attack after knowing what happened to you. Grandpa also expired as soon as grandma expired. Mom and dad totally lost their happiness. Mom remembers you a lot but dad is still angry at you."

Knowing that her grandparents expired because of her, Avika was broken and cried falling on her knees. Samar consoled her. After that both took her to the hotel room. Samar asked Avika's brother to leave as she needs to rest. Avika woke up after some time.

"Are you okay?" Samar asked Avika.

"Yes!"

"I thought that you will be happy seeing your brother but..."

"I am happy to see him, but..."

"I can understand your pain. You can't change the past by worrying and cursing yourself. Forget it. But change your future. Bring back the lost happiness into the lives of your family.

"But how? They won't even accept me as their daughter."

"Do anything that makes your parents proud of you. The world sees the success of a person but not their past or the hard work they've put in. So kindle the fire in your heart and cherish your dreams. Your family will accept you if you make them happy and proud to say that Avika is their daughter. If you think, you can do it," Samar said, trying to change the perspective of Avika towards the life.

"But what can I do?"

"Look, Avika, everyone is born with a purpose. Whatever happens in our life, happens for a reason which drives us towards our purpose. Think until you find your purpose. And remember I am with you," Samar said holding Avika's hands assuring her that whatever it is, her husband never leaves her.

Avika went into deep thoughts regarding her purpose of life. Now her thoughts are rounding towards not only reaching the heart of their parents but also doing something for innocent girls who are falling into traps and becoming prey for idiots. She decided something and hugged Samar with a smile.

In the evening, they met her brother and Avika had a fantastic time with him. After his departure, Samar and Avika went to shopping.

"Samar, I want that," Avika said in a low voice.

"What is that?"

Samar looked around and didn't understand what Avika is asking. Avika pointed her finger towards something that brought instant smile on Samar's face.

"Are you asking for a pink cotton candy?"

"Yes, I love it."

"Are you a kid?" Samar said, teasing Avika.

However, it is her childishness that made him fall for her. Maturity is necessary in life but at times and in few relationships, childishness preserves the sweetness of the bonding.

"Yes, I am a kid for you. Now please go and buy it for me."

"Sure but on one condition," Samar said, coming closer to her.

"What?"

"After going to our room, you have to give me my favorite cotton candy," Samar whispered in her ears with a naughty smile.

"I will buy it myself."

"Then I will give you my favorite cotton candy after going to our room."

"Samar, please stop it," Avika said blushing hard to his words.

"Ok. I will get it for you. You can wait here."

Samar gave the cotton candy to Avika and while having it, suddenly Avika shocked seeing someone.

"Avika, are you ok?"

"Jashwesh."

"What?"

Avika fainted and Samar took her to the hotel room. After some time, she regained conscious.

"What happened to you? Why are you so frightened?"

"I saw Jashwesh."

"What? You said he is dead."

"Yes, but today I saw him," Avika said, sweating badly.

"Don't worry. It might be an illusion."

"No. It's not an illusion. I saw Jashwesh."

"Ok, don't worry let's find it out. Now please stop worrying. I can't see you in this condition," Samar said hugging Avika.

Why is my past interfering with my life again? I want to make Samar happy. He loves me so much. I shouldn't make him worried for me. I must control my emotions.

Avika made herself relaxed seeing Samar worried for her.
