Their Marriage

Samar mesmerized with her dance and felt happy seeing her happiness. Avika embraced the rain drops falling on her face happily. Samar loved the way Avika created her happiness by enjoying simple things.

"I promise you, Avika, you will be happy forever like this. I will make everyday a special day for you. After all, when life is filled with love, every day is a celebration," Samar promised Avika in his heart.

Samar danced with her. He remembered words of Akshara and danced with her without touching and getting closer to her. Rain drops touched her body and made her completely wet. She was drenched in rain and her sari clung to her body making Samar go crazy looking at her curves.

Samar pulled Avika closer to him by encircling his hand around her waist. He forgot the suggestions of Akshara. Avika remembered her horrible past with his touch. She hallucinated as if someone was forcing her and Jashwesh in Samar. She cried and shouted at him. Samar tried to cool her. But she didn't allow him to talk or touch her. Samar was scared and his eyes filled with tears seeing her situation. He tried to go to her, but she took a glass from the table which was arranged for their dinner. She broke the glass and threatened him, hallucinating that he was Jashwesh. Samar decided not to call Akshara this time and handle her by himself.

"I shouldn't take help of the psychiatrist. I will try to make her normal by myself. We are going to get married. I should handle her emotions and mental imbalance. I must do something," Samar said to himself.

He went again to her but from back without her notice. He twisted her hand a bit and made her leave the glass. He then turned her towards him and cupped her face with one hand. He held both her hands with his to escape her blows.

"Avika, Look at me. This is your Samar. Why are you scared of me? I won't harm you and never allow anyone to harm you," Samar said soothing her.

He slowly hugged her realizing that she came back to her senses. She hugged him with tears.

"I am sorry. This is the reason I told you to leave me," Avika said.

"It's okay! No problem. I can understand. Please don't cry. Come, let's go to room."

He lifted her in his arms making her blush.

"Why do you lift me always like this? I can walk," she said encircling her hands around his neck.

"For me, you are a baby. I like to care for you every second," Samar said.

He took her to room. He wiped her wet hairs.

"Change your dress immediately, or you will fall sick. I will bring dinner for us."

Samar brought dinner. He fed her and gave hot turmeric milk to her. He made her take tablets prescribed by Akshara. Avika eyes filled with tears seeing his care.

"What happened to you, Avika? Why are you crying?"

"You are remembering my mom with your care."

"Don't worry. I will soon reunite you with your mom and family. Until then I will give you that motherly love. Do you know something, Chinni? A good husband will play all the roles. He cares for you like a mother, corrects mistakes like a father, advises like siblings and understands like a best friend."

"You are a good husband. I am lucky to have you in my life."

Samar smiled and caressed her hairs.

"How do you know that my nickname is Chinni?" Avika asked.

"Your brother Akshay told me at the time of our engagement. Is it okay if I call you Chinni?"

"Of course, you can call me as Chinni. You have that right," Avika said blushing.

"Now it's time to sleep," Samar said.

Samar set her bed and covered her with a blanket. He made her sleep and tried to go to his room. But she held his hand. He looked at her.

"Don't leave me alone, please," Avika said.

"But we are not yet married," Samar said hesitating to share the same bed with her.

"I trust you, Samar. When you are with me, I feel peaceful and safe. Please, don't go. However, we will be a married couple from tomorrow."

Samar smiled and slept beside her. He caressed her hairs and Avika slept peacefully after many months in his arms forgetting everything.

In the morning, he woke her up and gave her a beautiful red-colored sari with golden embroidery. She wore it and came downstairs. Samar was on a call and saw her. He stopped talking call and stared at her.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Avika asked him.

"You are breathtakingly beautiful. How can you be this beautiful?" Samar asked without taking off his eyes from her.

Avika blushed hearing his words.

"Please Chinni, don't make me to lose the control at least until our marriage," Samar said holding her hand and kissing it softly.

Samar took her to a registrar office. There she saw the Mother (orphanage founder), Akshara and a young girl. She looked at Samar.

"She is my younger sister Prema. She supports me in everything," Samar said.

Prema hugged Avika.

"I love you, Avika. You are damn cute. I am happy. Finally my brother got his love as his life partner," Prema said with excitement and love for her brother and sister-in-law.

Avika smiled but not heartfully as she didn't find Samar's parents there.

"Didn't aunt and uncle come for the marriage?" Avika asked.

Prema and Samar looked at each other.

"Come on, Let's start the wedding," Samar said as he knows that his parents wouldn't attend the marriage as they hate Avika.

Samar and Avika signed on the documents to register their marriage. Akshara and Prema kept sign as witness. Samar and Avika became a couple.

They took blessings from the mother. Akshara congratulated them. Prema gave an envelope to them.

"My dear brother, this is from my side. Have a nice trip to Simla. Wish you both a very Happy Married Life," Prema wished hugging both of them.

They started from there and went to Simla in the flight. They checked into a hotel. Avika lay on the bed with tiredness and Samar too lay beside her.

"Are you happy?" Samar asked Avika seeing a smile on her face which made her look more beautiful to his eyes.

"I love you!" Avika said.

"I love you too. Chinni, tomorrow I will take you to somewhere which will be a surprise for you," Samar said.

"Surprise? What is that?" Avika asked curiously.

"Who is your English teacher?" Samar asked.

"Why?"

"If I tell you the surprise, then it will not be a surprise. Who taught you English? You didn't even know the meaning of surprise?" Samar said.

"Why do you always make fun of everything?" Avika asked pouting.

"To make you feel free with me. If I am serious, then you can't move freely with me and you can't recover. My naughtiness, being jovial everything just to make you happy. If you know how I will be with others you will get shocked, my wife," Samar thought looking at Avika's cute face.

What are you thinking, Mr. Husband?" Avika asked cutely.

"I am thinking about the best way to kiss my angelic wife," Samar replied with a wink and naughtiness on his face.

"Oh God! You started it again," Avika pouted.

"I didn't start anything until now, darling. But I really want to start it as soon as possible. You are such beautiful," Samar said, pulling Avika into his arms.

"Shut up," Avika said, covering her fear to get intimate with a blush on her face.

"Hey, don't worry. I am just kidding! Let's be just friends until you recover from your past memories. I won't trouble you," Samar said, understanding her fears.

"Did Akshara told you to stay away from me?" Avika said.

"Yes. Before marrying you, I clearly asked everything about you," Samar said.

"Even after knowing that why did you marry me?" Avika said.

"Because I love you," Samar said.

Avika hugged him. Samar smiled and hugged back. They had their dinner and came to room.

"Can you bring ice cream for me?" Avika asked Samar.

"Now? It's too cold outside," Samar said.

"So what? I want to eat. Go and bring it," Avika said pouting.

"Why didn't you say that when we were in the restaurant? I will do one thing. I will call and will order the ice cream," Samar said.

"They will take time to send. You go and bring," Avika said forcing Samar to go.

Samar thought for a moment and agreed to go. He went out and Avika locked the door. She took tablets from her bag which she hid inside the clothes. She is about to take tablets and Samar threw it from her hand. Avika shocked seeing him.

"Did you send me out to take those tablets?" Samar asked her.

"Yes," Avika replied in a low voice.

"What are those tablets? Show me," Samar said searching her handbag.

"It's just..." Avika stammered.

"I said show me the tablets," Samar shouted at Avika.

Avika didn't react and he searched everything, finally found the tablets.

"Are you using the sleeping pills?" Samar said.

"Yes. From a year. I can't sleep without them. Those scenes from my past disturbs me a lot," Avika said with tears.

The pain of a girl who faced sexual harassment is heart wrenching. No one can understand how much it disturbs a girl and the trauma she goes through. Society snatches her right to live with dignity, nightmares snatch her sleep and that one incident is capable of snatching everything she loves and everyone who loves her.

Samar hugged Avika and kissed her forehead understanding her pain.

"Until now you are alone, so the haunting past frightened you. But now I am with you. Don't worry. When I am with you, no fear can come to you. I will make you sleep. Let's talk until you feel sleepy and then you can sleep. Using sleeping pills is not good for health. And seriously you shouldn't hide anything from me. Whatever may be the problem, share it with me. I am there to take care of everything for you," Samar said comforting Avika.

"I am sorry. I won't hide anything from you again," Avika said.

Samar noticed her hands still shivering and remembered him shouting at her. Samar held her hands.

"Don't be scared of me. I am sorry for shouting at you."

"Do you get angry too?" Avika said.

"Why? Am I not a human?"

"But you always make fun of everything. So I thought...."

"I will be jovial only with my family and you are a part of our family."

Samar said kissing Avika on her forehead. Then, he gave a blue jewelry box to Avika. It was a beautiful diamond necklace of blue and white combination.

"Did you like it?" Samar said.

"But why did you give such an expensive gift? I mean, it's not necessary now," Avika said, hesitating to take it.

"It's a marriage gift, to you from me. Wear it. I want to see," Samar said.

Avika tried wearing it but she couldn't. Samar made her to wear it. Avika closed her eyes feeling his touch on her back. Samar smiled seeing her blushing and kissed her on back.

"I love you."

"I love you too," Avika said, feeling Samar's love.

"No diamond is more beautiful than you. And I am lucky that this diamond is mine forever," Samar said, looking at her eyes.

"Shall I ask you one thing, if you don't mind."

"You can ask me anything. No need to hesitate," Samar said, hugging her closer to him.

"After cancelling of engagement you went abroad. But you didn't go there for higher studies or expanding your business. Then why did you go there?"

"Just for vacation."

"For one year?"

"Will you stop interrogating me?" Samar said, cutting off the topic.

"No, I didn't mean to hurt you. I just asked..."

"If you move aside, I will set the bed," Samar said.

"It's ok. I will do that," Avika said.

Samar sat on sofa thinking about Avika's questions. Meanwhile, Avika took luggage bags and arranged bed neatly.

"It's done. You can sleep now."

Samar slept without talking to Avika. She came near to him and slept on his chest.

"I am sorry for asking you many questions. I know that you love me a lot. So when I left, did anything happened to you because of my stupidity? I wanted to confirm that nothing happened to you as I can't forgive me if you had suffered because of me. Anyways sorry if I hurt you. Don't be silent. Please talk to me," Avika said.

Samar smiled and held her, caressing her hairs.

"It's ok."

Samar kissed her. Both chitchatted for a long time. He posed jokes to make her relax. She told about her college days and family. Slowly Avika drifted off to sleep. He covered her with a blanket and kissed on the forehead. Samar too slept admiring his wife's beaty and innocence.
