I won the argument about a second-hand car but then again, I’m sure Benji is sure he won because he can buy me a car. We are back in the SUV driving around the neighborhood looking for a Walmart or Target, I’m sure Benji will feel out of place but I love myself some Target so I hoped we saw a Target first. And for one’s luck was on my side. “Anton there’s a Target let’s stop there.” “You sound excited?” “I love Target.” “I never thought you would have been in a Target before.” He said shocked. “Believe me if my mother found out she might have a heart attack.” “Do you want to call her or should I?” He said smiling at me. “No, she can live with my dad that’s punishment enough for her.” “Also, true.” “I take it you’ve never been?” “I can’t say I have.” “Well then stick with me, I might lose you.” We stopped and Anton asked if he should come in or wait for us. Benji told him to rather wait it would be odd if we have a bodyguard in Target. It might put a target on our backs. That made both of them laugh I just shook my head because seriously? What a joke.
I grabbed a trolley and decided I’m going to go wild and use the money my mom gave me for this trip she would be mortified that I spend her money in a Target. I took candles and throws, a photo frame because I want a photo of me and Benji just to remember our time together maybe one of the engagements. That’s when I realized we haven’t received them yet. I stopped the cart in the middle of the aisle and ask Benji “Did you get our engagement photo’s yet?” he looked shocked that I asked him. He was taking a bit long to answer me “Benji?” “Yes, but I haven’t look through them I thought it would be too painful.” “I want to look through them I want a photo for this frame.” “You want a photo of the two of us in your new apartment?” “Yes, I do love you and won’t just stop Benji and besides I want to remember the few happy days I had with you.” “Okay angel we can look through them later.” “Thanks, Benji.” I said as I walked on.
We came to the bedding section when I decided I wanted something girly for my apartment the bedding was nice but it was for a male or female I wanted something pink for just me. “And this?” He asked “I want the room to feel like my room not just a generic room.” “Oh, okay I get it.” His eyes started to wonder “Oh my God, you didn’t tell me they sell TV’s we can buy you one now.” “You serious?” “Dead serious. Would you mind me going there and looking at the TV’s so long.” “Not at all, I’m spending my mom’s cash here so go on go look for a TV.” He looked at me like he wasn’t comprehending what I was saying but then he shook his head and went to the TV’s. I went back to the bedding, getting pillows to go with it and throws. Then I saw the baby stuff and my heart just dropped to my stomach. I took a small pillow and held it to my cheek. It was so small. I put it down and for some reason ended in the kids’ section, the cloths were so cute and small part of me just wanted to buy everything and the other part of me was telling me I wasn’t pregnant and all this was a mistake and at this stage I was listening to that part of my brain and not the rational part. I got an ornament or two and went looking for Benji before I go to the food section, because I will lose him if I don’t take him with me. As soon as he saw me, he called out “I found the right one for you.” Obviously, it was also the biggest one in the store. “Oh, and why is it the right one for me because it’s big?” “No because it has everything, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Cable, Apple….” I stopped him “You do know those things has subscription cost that I have to pay every month and you just heard what my salary is going to be.” “No no no I already paying it 2 years in advance then you will be settled at a law firm and you don’t have to worry about the money anymore.” “Benji.” I said on a sigh. He walked over to me “Please angel you don’t want me to do anything for you let me do this.” “This and buy me a car and you got me work. That’s not nothing.” “Okay please let me do this for you to.” “Okay just because I don’t want to ruin my shopping trip.” “I should bring you more to Target when I want to negotiate something.” “Jeez then we are going to stay here.” I said laughing. Then I saw Anton walking towards us. “Anton I just paid for this will you take it to the SUV so long.” “Okay I’ll take it to the apartment so long?” He asked “Yes I have a lot of things to buy we will need the space.” I told him. “Thanks Anton.” “Okay where to now?” Benji asked excited to be shopping. “Food section” “Oh goodie but this trolley is full let’s get another one.”

When she told me she was spending her mom’s money here I didn’t want to tell her that I will be paying for everything she will not put up a scene in the store but she will give me a mouthful when we get in the SUV but that is fine, I can handle that. Before we went to the food section, I grabbed another trolley I was going to fill it to the top with anything and everything, she will have options that doesn’t just include chicken salad and smoothies. I will buy sweets and chips as well, you never know what she will start craving.
